President Claudia Sheinbaum condemned Wednesday the criminalization carried out by the United States authorities against Mexican nationals in that country. During her daily press conference, Sheinbaum rejected the new anti-migration raids conducted by U.S. authorities and highlighted that Mexican migrants contribute to the economic development of the northern neighbour. The Mexican president also stressed that her government has reinforced its consular mechanisms to provide support to all Mexicans receiving orders of deportation. She also warned that Washington's anti-migration policies are also affecting U.S. companies since an increasing number of migrant employees refuse to go to work out of fear of being detained.
