00:00So I think we are in a critical moment of our history.

00:02In the next few years, Europe needs to decide

00:04whether it continues with the same size it has today or it enlarges.

00:09And it guarantees peace, prosperity and safety for all.

00:13And we are in a crossroad, and this is a critical moment.

00:16With the opening of Euronews Montenegro,

00:18with Montenegro joining our wide European family,

00:21we hope to further this debate.

00:23Here in Montenegro, in the whole Western Balkans,

00:26and also in the EU member countries.

00:28We want to be the voice of the EU here.

00:30Yes, we are proud of that.

00:32We are proud of standing by the European values, by the European voice.

00:35But we also want to bring the voice of Montenegro to the rest of Europe.

00:39It's very important that people understand that when we speak about enlargement,

00:43this is not something special we are giving as a benefit

00:46to countries that are not currently part.

00:49This is something that makes us all stronger, safer,

00:53and with the possibility of developing ourselves more in the years to come.

00:57And so for me, we have the dual responsibility.

01:01We need to be the voice of Montenegro in Europe,

01:03but we also want to be the voice of Europe in Montenegro.

01:06And this is how Euronews Montenegro brings a lot of value to our family,

01:10and we are very excited to have it launched.

01:13You said this is not your first time in Montenegro,

01:16and you have visited our country a few times before.

01:19What's the most beautiful thing you remember from Montenegro?

01:22So I don't want to sound as a cliché, but I'm going to say the people,

01:25besides an amazing nature.

01:27I've had the chance to be here either for work, but also with my family.

01:31We visited the country.

01:32We drove throughout the whole country.

01:34And, of course, the landscape is incredible.

01:37The fjords, the beach, everything was an amazing experience.

01:41But, of course, the people of Montenegro impressed me,

01:44how warm they are, how nice they are.

01:46And when you think about that is what is the real value of a country, is its people.

01:52And that is also what we need in the European family,

01:54is more people joining us, sharing this value, sharing this enthusiasm.

01:59And when you are here, you feel that Europe can grow,

02:02you feel that Europe can be important.

02:04Of course, the history is not finished yet.

02:07We have pieces of the puzzle to complete,

02:09and the Western Balkans is a clear priority to us to complete that puzzle.
