Adamson upsets defending champion UP in UAAP 88

Ray Allen Torres drills the game-winning trey as Adamson University nips defending champ University of the Philippines, 62-59, in the UAAP Season 88 men's basketball tournament at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion on Sept. 24, 2025. Adamson thus bounced back from its season-opening loss to La Salle last Saturday to rise to 1-1. A former UPIS student, Torres finished with 10 points to join hands with AJ Fransman who likewise scored 10 markers on top of eight boards. Abadiano racked up 15 points for the Fighting Maroons, who fell to 0-2, their worst start since Season 79 in 2016 when they went 0-3.
