Sompting Pumpkins is putting the final touches to its fields so families can have a day of autumn fun there in October. As well as picking pumpkins, guests can do crafts, but pumpkin themed snacks, ride pedal tractors, take a trailer ride and more
00:00Hi there, I'm Caroline Harriot from Sompting Pumpkins. I'm otherwise known as Farmer Caroline and we're here at the Sompting Pumpkins field and as you can see it is just an array of colour and some sompting scariness as well.
00:20We have sunflowers, we have the pumpkins, we have all the different varieties that we usually have, we have the delicious ones for eating, we have the lovely calving ones, we have the big ones and we have, let's pick, we have the tiny ones, the little munchkins.
00:39So we're really looking forward to October the 4th which is our opening day, we're open every weekend in October plus the whole of half term, the 25th to the 31st.
00:50We've got our usual crafts, really sustainable this year, we're doing felting with wool, we've got our pedal tractors this year for the children, we've got our sheep, we've got three sheep this year, Tiny Tina, Ramona and Vincent
01:06that everybody will be able to see and may be able to leave the little lamb. We've got our trailer rides which we'll be doing for Chestnut Treehouse and a special day for West Sussex Mind.
01:16So much going on but we've also got delicious coffees, lattes, pumpkin ice creams, pizzas, crepes, our own home produced burgers, beef burgers, so there is so much to see and do.
01:29And this year, because the sunflowers have come so beautifully, we are going to have a maze where you'll be able to go up and find lots of scary things in the sunflowers.
01:40We may even find our resident Sompting pumpkin witch up there in her house if we're really lucky. So there's lots to see and do, we really hope to see you in October and don't forget a pumpkin isn't just for Halloween, they are delicious to eat and decorate with as well.
