Are Hibs forgetting how to do the hard stuff? Reaction to a sloppy collapse at Falkirk
Transcript
00:00A cold and ultimately very disappointing night for Hibs at Falkirk here. There's no way to
00:07sugarcoat this. 2-0 up, playing okay pretty well, going forward with the ball. They can see the goal
00:16just before half-time, stop as if you've heard this one before, right? And then the second half
00:22to lose a goal to a corner. It's painful to watch at times, at the moment. And it almost feels like
00:32they're waiting for things to get easier. And anyone who's been around football long enough
00:37knows it never gets easier. You just get better at the hard stuff. And last year's
00:44spectacular comeback and a lot of the stuff they did in Europe earlier this season was built on a
00:51resilience, a doggedness, a grit, kind of dirt under the fingernails level performance
01:01that meant they were almost like, if you're going to score past me, you're going to have to kill me
01:05first. There was just a real dig and a grit about them. And that just seems to be missing at the
01:12moment. That might be unfair. Who knows? Listen, they'll tell you they're working hard. They'll
01:17tell you doing these things. But when you're losing as many bad goals as Hibs are losing at
01:22the moment, people are going to ask questions about it. And they're going to ask questions about
01:25and everything. David Gray will know this. They'll ask questions about the shape, about his selection.
01:30Lost another goal from a ball coming down that left side and cut back. There's issues clearly there.
01:38All over the park. Some players played okay. I thought Dan Barlazar looked all right. I thought
01:46Chaiwa got himself stuck in a bit. A really difficult night for Keenum Bowie. They'll get a penalty.
01:56It just feels like there's something missing at the moment. And now they hit the Celtic part,
02:02where you really want to be a complete team. You need to be as close as you can be to,
02:06not the complete team, but your complete team when you're going to play Celtic at Celtic Park
02:12and in the derby after that. So there's work to be done.
