00:00He looks more in control, and I think he has developed.
00:03So I feel okay about the overall development and the trajectory,
00:08and it seems like he's in a way better place in year two.
00:10Maybe that should be self-evident.
00:11You have more experience, more under your belt.
00:13But he seems to be in a better place than he was as a rookie.
00:18So I do feel good about that.
00:19But the turnovers have to get cleaned up.
00:22That said, the two names he gets comped to all the time,
00:25Nick did some research on this.
00:28Nick was doing homework.
00:29Nick Stats and Info.
00:30Yeah.
00:30He came in with a binder.
00:32Yeah, he did.
00:32Well, no pad.
00:33For about 20 years, and it's on page three.
00:35Yeah, well, he had Jurassic Park Trapper Keeper.
00:38He came in with notes ready to go today,
00:40and Nick took it upon himself to look at Josh Allen.
00:43You hear that name all the time.
00:44Not just from callers to sports radio.
00:48MVP of the league.
00:49Okay.
00:50Mike Reese wrote, after week one,
00:52a GM reached out and brought up Josh Allen to Mike Reese, brag.
00:55But he brought up the name Josh Allen.
00:58So people in the league are doing the same comp.
01:00Okay?
01:02Through three games in year two, Josh Allen, I know, was 3-0,
01:05and the Bills were on route to a 10-win season and a playoff appearance.
01:09But what were the numbers through three weeks, Nick?
01:12What did your research tell you?
01:14Drake May has six touchdowns and three turnovers compared to Josh Allen's five touchdowns,
01:20five total touchdowns, five turnovers.
01:23Okay, so hang on.
01:23So one more touchdown for May.
01:25More touchdowns, less turnovers.
01:27And two fewer turnovers through three games compared to Josh Allen.
01:30That is before Josh Allen went to New England and turned the ball over three more times.
01:34So he would have three total touchdowns, or five total touchdowns, and eight turnovers.
01:38He also did fumble in that game.
01:39Didn't lose it.
01:40Well, in that whole season, he fumbled 14 times.
01:44Okay.
01:45Yeah, it's Zooks.
01:46So, I mean, Allen in year two was still turnover prone, inaccurate, making mistakes left and right.
01:55Yeah, he had completed 58% of his passes that year.
01:58Drake May this season is at 72.5 or whatever.
02:00Okay, look, that makes me feel better.
02:02I'll be honest, all of that makes me feel better.
02:04Definitely.
02:04His team won 10 games, and they were in the playoffs.
02:06Yeah.
02:07But that's not the only indication, because Mac Jones won 10 games, but nobody was like,
02:11hell yeah, this is definitely the guy.
02:12No, it's true.
02:13I think in two of those wins, Josh Allen scored like 17 points.
02:16He needed like 17 or 16 points.
02:18No, but even the playoff game that he played in was one of the worst playoff games of all time.
02:22Allen.
02:23Yes.
02:24Oh, yeah.
02:24Remember that one?
02:24Against the Texans?
02:25Is that right?
02:26Yeah.
02:26It wasn't even a game.
02:27Somebody has to win this one.
02:28The guys were like throwing the ball backwards.
02:30It set the game of football back several years.
02:32Okay, let me give you another one that he gets comped to a lot.
02:35Justin Herbert.
02:35Yeah.
02:36Herbert did not make the playoffs.
02:37He won nine games, though, in year two.
02:40He started out with six touchdowns to it looks like three turnovers in the first three weeks
02:47of the year.
02:48So, again, very comparable.
02:49He started 2-1.
02:50Allen started 3-0.
02:52Drake May is 1-2, and it's not like Drake's played a tough schedule.
02:56Uh, no.
02:56Uh.
