L'été arrive dans une banlieue typique des classes moyennes américaines. Jay, une adolescente, se retrouve embarquée dans une histoire aussi folle qu'effrayante. Assommée, elle se réveille attachée à un siège. Son petit ami avec lequel elle vient d'avoir une relation sexuelle lui annonce qu'elle va être traquée et poursuivie par une entité qui voudra la tuer. Son unique chance de salut : transmettre le mal, comme s'il s'agissait d'une monstrueuse maladie vénérienne. Avec ses amies, Jay va tout tenter pour se débarrasser de cette menace qui rôde...
