00:00Just a couple of months ago, everyone was saying that altcoins were dead.
00:03They are expired. They're dead.
00:06Then, Ethereum pumped over 50% in July, and we're starting to see capital rotate down the altcoin stack,
00:13just like in every other crypto cycle.
00:16Solana is one of the first in line for these flows,
00:19so it should come as no surprise that Sol has pumped a lot in recent weeks.
00:24What is surprising, though, is just how much more it could pump by the end of 2025.
00:30And that's why today we're going to update you on what Solana has been cooking,
00:35analyze Sol's price action,
00:37and see whether its upcoming catalysts will be enough to take it to four figures.
00:42My name is Nick, and you're watching The Coin Bureau.
00:47Before we dig in, you need to know that nothing in this video is financial advice.
00:51It's educational content intended to inform you about Solana.
00:55Also, do keep in mind that some members of The Coin Bureau team hold soul in their personal crypto portfolios,
01:01but you can rest assured that we will be as objective as possible in our analysis.
01:07And if you want to know what other cryptos we hold, then check out The Coin Bureau Club.
01:12That's where we do deep dives into promising altcoins every single week,
01:15provide daily crypto market updates,
01:17and discuss emerging narratives in the members' Discord.
01:20The Coin Bureau Club will soon be undergoing a massive upgrade and price increase,
01:25so be sure to lock in the OG members' rate by becoming a member
01:29using the link down below in the description before it's too late.
01:33Now, it's been about four months since we last covered Solana,
01:36and it's safe to say that a lot has happened since then.
01:39Shortly after our video went live, Solana had its Accelerate conference,
01:43which consisted of two events,
01:45Scale or Die, which was specifically for developers,
01:47and Ship or Die, which was for a broader audience.
01:51Now, to be honest, Ship or Die was a bit underwhelming based on the presentations and discussions we saw.
01:58The only one that caught our eye was a fireside chat with David Rutter, the CEO of R3.
02:04Now, for context, R3 is a popular institutional blockchain that's been around for a decade,
02:09and has been working on tokenized real-world assets since long before it was a hot topic in crypto.
02:15In the fireside chat, David revealed that R3 will bring, quote,
02:19all 25 networks in the Corda ecosystem to Solana in the coming months.
02:25And this means that there are going to be a lot more tokenized RWAs launching on Solana very soon.
02:31In fact, there's already been a surge in tokenized RWAs on Solana since May this year.
02:37Data from RWA XYZ reveals that Solana is in the top 10 RWA blockchains with over $500 million of TVL.
02:46Now, we'll come back to tokenized RWAs in just a second,
02:49but two other milestones from May that are worth noting were the launch of Solana's attestation service
02:54and Metamask adding support for Solana.
02:57In the case of the former, this makes it possible for institutions to do things like
03:01issue verified credentials on the Solana blockchain, such as KYC, for example.
03:06Obviously, stuff like this will be required if Solana wants to continue growing its internet
03:11capital markets ecosystem.
03:13Now, when it comes to the latter, Metamask adding support for Solana is a bigger deal than you might
03:18think.
03:19And that's because it's reportedly the first time that Metamask has added support for a non-EVM
03:25blockchain.
03:25And this suggests that key players in the crypto industry, specifically key players in Ethereum's
03:31ecosystem, see Solana as a serious project that's likely to be around for a long time.
03:37On that note, in June, a blue-chip crypto project on Ethereum called Maple Finance expanded
03:42to Solana.
03:44We actually covered Maple Finance for our Coin Bureau Club members, but the TLDR is that
03:49Maple Finance is an institutional lending protocol that lends primarily to crypto companies and
03:54is a key part of crypto's market infrastructure.
03:56Its expansion to Solana underscores Solana's growing importance.
04:01But back to those tokenized RWAs.
04:04As some of you might have heard, Backed Finance launched a series of tokenized stocks on Solana
04:10at the end of June, with multiple exchanges adding support for these so-called X-stocks.
04:16Now, what's crazy is that you don't need any KYC to trade X-stocks.
04:20You can literally do it from within your Solana wallet 24-7.
04:24And you can learn more about X-stocks using the link down below.
04:28And while you're down there, smash that like button if you're enjoying the video so far
04:32and subscribe to the channel and ping that notification bell so you don't miss our next
04:37video.
04:37Now, another big thing that happened to Solana in June was the accumulation of Sol by Solana
04:43treasury companies.
04:44Now, there may have been too many announcements to cover here and there's more coming out
04:48every single day.
04:49So, we'll just direct you to the Solana treasuries tracker in the description.
04:53At the time of shooting, 17 companies have accumulated more than 3% of Sol's supply and
04:59counting.
05:00And by the way, it's not just the Solana treasury companies that have been stacking
05:03Sol either.
05:04In case you missed the news, a state Solana ETF was launched by Rex Shares and Osprey
05:09funds in July using an SEC loophole that's quite frankly outside the scope of this video.
05:15According to the Rex Shares website, the state Solana ETF has nearly $300 million in assets
05:20under management, which is solid given it's been around for just two months.
05:25Speaking of which, you're probably wondering when the actual Spot Solana ETFs will launch.
05:31Well, according to Bloomberg ETF analyst James Saifert, the final decision date for the standard
05:36Spot Solana ETF applications is the 10th of October, which is basically around the corner.
05:41Given how much the state Spot Solana ETF has grown, it's safe to assume that the standard
05:46ETF will do well too, but more on that later.
05:50Now, of course, this all sounds very bullish.
05:52And what's funny is that there's another bullish announcement involving the recently listed
05:57crypto exchange named Bullish.
06:00In July, Bullish announced that it had partnered with Solana for its institutional stablecoin
06:04push.
06:05Newsflash.
06:06But this further highlights Solana's slow pivot towards institutional adoption, which seems
06:11to be going pretty well.
06:12Make no mistake, the retail degens on Solana are alive and well too.
06:17And you can tell because in July, Pump.fun managed to raise a whopping $500 million in
06:23its ICO.
06:24And it has recently been raking in unprecedented amounts of fee revenue.
06:28Naturally, this fee revenue is being used to buy back the Pump token, which recently went
06:33parabolic.
06:34And you can learn more about that by using the video right over here.
06:37Now, in August, Solana's Seeker phone started shipping, with 50,000 delivered so far.
06:44Now, for reference, there were reportedly over 150,000 orders of the latest phone compared
06:49to just 20,000 orders of Solana's earlier saga phone, presumably because of the lower cost
06:55and expectations around airdrops.
06:58Solana's phone seemed to be a key part of Solana's new strategy, which we'll come back
07:02to in a bit.
07:02Now, on the technical side, the Solana Foundation announced the launch of Solana Bench, an open
07:08source tool to help developers launch AI protocols on the Solana blockchain.
07:12As some of you will know, there's been a big push to merge crypto with AI, particularly in
07:17respect of stablecoin payments.
07:19Solana is one of the cryptos on the cutting edge in this sense.
07:22But fortunately, or unfortunately, Solana is struggling to change the reputation as a
07:29degen chain, and headlines like Solana's bonk meme coin getting a treasury company probably
07:35don't help.
07:36And this is a problem, because we're at a stage in the crypto cycle where investors
07:40are more focused on fundamentals.
07:43Case in point, Ethereum finally flipped Solana by DEX volumes in August.
07:48Not only that, but it was also revealed that USDC stablecoin issuer Circle and payments
07:53processor Stripe would be launching their own blockchains.
07:56And this arguably spells trouble for Solana, especially because it had positioned itself
08:01as the de facto blockchain for Circle's USDC, and was angling towards payments with PayPal's
08:08PYUSD.
08:09If PayPal also launches its own chain, it will be very bad news for Sol.
08:14And yet, despite these headwinds, institutional investors continue to be bullish, with Bitwise
08:20CIO Matt Hogan saying the quiet part out loud.
08:24But continued accumulation by Solana treasury companies and the apparently imminent launch
08:28of the spot ETFs could be enough to take Sol interstellar.
08:33After all, it's worked for Bitcoin and Ethereum, so it's probably going to work for Solana too.
08:39And this, of course, brings me to the moment you've all been waiting for, and that's an
08:43analysis of Sol's past price action and its future potential.
08:48Sol is up around 35% since we last covered Solana in May, and in retrospect, it's expected.
08:55The entire crypto market started pumping in July, and has been slowly grinding higher
08:59ever since.
09:00And this pump was primarily due to the passing of pro-crypto legislation, namely the Genius
09:05Act.
09:06We actually predicted that the passing of the Genius Act would be a bullish catalyst for
09:11Solana, just because it's one of the top blockchains for stablecoins.
09:14What we didn't anticipate, though, was that Ethereum would take the spotlight first.
09:18But in retrospect, this was also expected.
09:21When capital starts to flow from Bitcoin into altcoins, Ethereum is the first stop, and the
09:26next one being the other larger caps down the market cap rankings.
09:30Now, this is where things get interesting.
09:32Sol appears to be approaching a key resistance level against both BTC and ETH.
09:38And this means that Sol's outperformance relative to the rest of the crypto market could
09:42be close to being over, at least in the short term.
09:46However, this doesn't mean that Sol won't continue pumping in fiat terms.
09:50If the crypto market rallies, then Sol will join.
09:53It just might not be the leader in that rally.
09:56And if you need additional evidence that Sol could be about to take a bit of a breather,
10:00then look no further than its on-chain analytics.
10:02The number of active wallets on Solana has been in a continued decline since the start of
10:072025.
10:08And as we noted in one of our previous Solana updates, when you see a divergence between
10:13price and on-chain activity like this, it foreshadows a crash in the coming weeks.
10:20The catch is that other on-chain indicators suggest Sol could continue powering higher.
10:25Take total value locked, for instance.
10:27The TVL on Solana has started hitting new all-time highs, despite Sol's price not being
10:33up to its all-time highs yet.
10:34And this means that additional capital is flowing into Solana's ecosystem, either from
10:39other chains or from within the Solana blockchain itself in the form of borrowing or using Sol
10:44to borrow stablecoins to increase liquidity.
10:47As you can hopefully see, the total value locked in Solana's DeFi lending protocols hasn't
10:51grown that much in recent weeks.
10:53What this means then is that most of the additional TVL on Solana is in fact additional capital flowing
11:00in from other chains or assets like RWA's, and that is an extremely bullish sign.
11:07Add in the relentless buying by Solana treasury companies, and it's clear that Solana still
11:12has legs.
11:13And this begs the question of how high Sol could go.
11:17In the short term, the answer is somewhere between $350 and $375, assuming Sol can break
11:24above a long-term resistance of around $250.
11:27In case you haven't noticed, Sol has essentially been chopping in a range for over the last
11:32year and a half.
11:34If it manages to break out of this range, then the target would be $350 to $375, while a
11:40crash could bring Sol down to as low as $125.
11:44In the longer term, the answer seems to be around $500.
11:48And that's because Sol has arguably been painting a massive cup and handle pattern since the 2021
11:52cycle.
11:54If so, then a break above a long-term resistance of around $250 could foreshadow a price closer
11:59to $500 than $300, which would be epic.
12:03But this begs a bigger question, though, and that's whether this is the biggest that Sol
12:07will get in this cycle.
12:08We think the answer is no, meaning that Sol could rally much higher than people expect.
12:14Besides the fact that the amount of Sol being purchased by Solana treasury companies is massive
12:19relative to Solana's market cap, we realized the other day that it's possible
12:22keyword, possible, that Solana could flip XRP to become the third largest crypto by market
12:29cap.
12:30And this has some fascinating maths around it.
12:33It goes without saying that XRP is going to rally much more from here.
12:37And we reckon that a likely cycle top for XRP would be somewhere around $4.525.
12:43And this would give XRP a market cap of around $300 billion.
12:47So if, keyword, if Sol was to flip XRP, this means Solana's market cap would be bigger than
12:54$300 billion.
12:55And that would translate to a Sol price that's closer to $600 or $700 than $500.
13:02And say, if you're looking to trade Sol, then you have to check out the Coin Bureau deals
13:07page.
13:07That's where you'll find sign-up bonuses of up to $100,000, trading fee discounts of up
13:12to 50%, and deposit cashbacks of up to 75% on the best crypto exchanges.
13:17To get these goodies, all you need to do is hit the link in the description or scan this
13:21QR code.
13:22Once you get on the deals page, find a deal that suits you and click on one of the sign-up
13:27now buttons.
13:28Now, these deals will not be around forever, so take advantage of them while you still
13:32can, use the link in the description, or scan in the QR code.
13:36Now, whether Sol could rally to $300, $500, or $700 in the coming months ultimately depends
13:42on Solana's upcoming milestones.
13:45Solana's ecosystem roadmap was revealed in a July blog post titled, quote, the Internet
13:50Capital Markets Roadmap.
13:51It focused on a single milestone, Application Controlled Execution, or ACE.
13:56Which will make transactions on Solana much more modular.
14:00In plain English, ACE will make it possible for applications to decide when transactions
14:04are processed, and not validators, as is currently the case on almost every crypto blockchain.
14:09And this will make it possible to support more TradFi use cases that have a harder time
14:13fitting into the crypto mold, like futures trading, for example.
14:17Notably, the blog post specifies that ACE will ensure that all transactions remain on-chain,
14:22not off-chain stuff.
14:24And ACE will be rolled out across a series of upgrades lasting until later this year,
14:29or early next year.
14:31The main upgrade to be on the lookout for is called Alpenglow, which was recently approved
14:35for implementation by Solana validators.
14:38Alpenglow will reduce Solana's block finality time from 400 milliseconds to just 150 milliseconds,
14:44and this is made possible through its introduction of multiple concurrent validators processing blocks.
14:49On the less technical front, Solana seems to be focused on its multiple mobile devices as
14:54the next frontier for growth.
14:56Now, for those unfamiliar, Solana's co-founder, Anatoly Yakovenko, has apparently turned his
15:00focus to Solana's mobile aspirations, and even Solana Labs' blog posts mostly contain
15:06mobile-related updates.
15:08Anatoly did a panel discussion at Ship or Die, which effectively confirmed this was Solana's
15:13approach to adoption.
15:14And this actually makes sense if you think about it.
15:17As a fun fact, around 60% of the world's internet traffic comes from mobile users.
15:22By focusing on mobile phones that are affordable and have built-in crypto features that have
15:27been abstracted away, you can get crypto into the hands of potentially billions of non-crypto
15:33natives.
15:34It's safe to say, though, that most of the adoption is coming from crypto natives right
15:37now.
15:38And when it comes to attracting both non-crypto natives and crypto natives, there is no bigger
15:43incentive than free money.
15:46As you might have guessed, Solana's Seeker phone has an SKR token, which will presumably
15:51be airdropped to users in the coming weeks.
15:54The recent launch of the Seeker Season program suggests that power users of the Solana's Seeker
15:58phones will stand to get the biggest allocations.
16:01And this is something that we actually also predicted would happen.
16:04Crypto projects will start doing airdrops of tokens that potentially more than offset the
16:09cost of the device in question.
16:11And this could result in millions of people purchasing these crypto devices to try and
16:15get airdrops, theoretically raising crypto adoption.
16:19In practice, though, most people are likely to use Solana's phone as a secondary device
16:24until it gets better.
16:26And this, of course, brings me to the challenges that we foresee for Solana.
16:30And the first challenge is adoption.
16:32As I mentioned earlier, we found the ship or die conference to be a little underwhelming.
16:37There was lots of talk about things like institutional adoption, and lots of tokenized RWA's have
16:42launched on Solana since then.
16:44But on-chain activity reveals the rub.
16:47Fewer and fewer people are using Solana over time.
16:50Now, to be clear, the same is true for many crypto blockchains.
16:53But the fact that Solana has become known as a meme coin casino seems to have done some serious
16:58damage to the perception that users have of the chain.
17:01For what it's worth, this has stress-tested the Solana blockchain, to the point that institutions
17:07are starting to feel comfortable launching tokenized RWA's on Solana in size.
17:12And that's bullish in the longer term.
17:15And this ties into Solana's second challenge, though, and that's development.
17:19Now, for those who don't know, Solana was once infamous for having outages.
17:24Thankfully, there haven't been any outages since 2024.
17:27But recent and future upgrades to the blockchain means the risk of an outage could rise.
17:34You'll recall that Alpenglow will introduce multiple concurrent validators and speed up
17:38block times.
17:39If there are any technical issues on Solana after Alpenglow deploys on mainnet, it could
17:44take the wind out of the sails of institutional adoption that Solana has been riding for the
17:50last few months.
17:51You'll remember that some crypto companies and Trad5 firms are already launching their
17:55own chains.
17:56All it could take is one error on a chain like Solana for institutions to go rushing to these
18:02alternatives.
18:03And this ties into Solana's third challenge, and that's competition.
18:07As we mentioned in our previous update, the Bitcoin OGs were right when they predicted during
18:12Bitcoin's block-size wars that competing on speed and cost would result in a race to the
18:18bottom in terms of centralization.
18:20Smart contract cryptos have gone full circle in this sense.
18:24They started off decentralized, but each generation become more centralized.
18:28And now we have crypto companies like Circle and Tether even launching their own blockchains.
18:32It's almost as if that was the plan all along.
18:35Let the crypto projects compete in the open, and once you're happy with how far the technology
18:39has come, you copy the code and then launch your own private permissioned version.
18:43Solana could soon face extreme competition from these chains on the institutional front.
18:48With all that said, though, these are all challenges that are far in the future.
18:53Solana's retail adoption is likely to improve as crypto speculation returns.
18:58It's unlikely to face any potential technical issues until after Alpenglow is implemented on
19:03mainnet, which could be more than half a year away.
19:06And most of the private and permissioned competitors to Solana are starting from behind.
19:11They won't catch up anytime soon.
19:13And that's why we continue to be very bullish on Sol and believe it's likely to perform
19:18much better than most people expect in the coming months.
19:21Matt Hogan is right about the fact that cryptos only need two ingredients to explode higher.
19:26Treasury company accumulation and spot ETFs.
19:30Solana already has the former, and the latter is coming in the next couple of weeks.
19:35Sol is looking good here.
19:36And if you want to see how Sol stacks up against ETH in 2025, then check out our video on that
19:42right over here.
19:44And if you haven't subscribed to the channel yet, you can do that right over here.
