00:02Something was kind of glossed over,
00:05but there's been criticism from Trump about free speech
00:09and, of course, J.D. Vance in the UK
00:12and Elon Musk actually at a far-right rally
00:15that we saw happening recently.
00:18But overnight, Trump did support the cancelling of Jimmy Kimmel
00:22over his comments about Charlie Kirk.
00:25Do you think that is hypocrisy from the U.S. president?
00:30I don't at all.
00:32And for this reason, Nigel Farage has got a lot of press in the U.S. as well.
00:36What he has stressed is that in Britain, what is going on today,
00:40he's compared, maybe it is a little bit of hyperbole,
00:44Nigel Farage, Britain to North Korea in terms of censorship.
00:48What he's conferring to Nigel Farage is our posts and so forth
00:53that occur in Britain, and people are prosecuted by the authorities.
00:58In the United States, the Kimmel matter was not a governmental action.
01:04The Kimmel matter was a decision by the private sector.
01:08Now, there is no First Amendment in our country or free speech
01:12with respect to social consequences or private sector market decisions.
01:18You can say whatever you want in the United States,
01:21and the government can't take action as apparently as the case in Britain.
01:26That's the distinction.
01:27The Kimmel situation was a decision by public outcry.
01:31The president joined it and agreed with it,
01:33but the president didn't force it or make it come about.
01:37So there is a huge distinction.
01:40Again, one can say in this country, in the United States,
01:43it's what one wants unless it's to incite violence.
01:47But that does not mean you have protection on the private sector
01:52from actions such as these.
01:55The president joked a bit about Kimmel's low television ratings,
01:59which is true, but Kimmel was clearly dismissed
02:01because of that speech by private sector entities.
02:05In Britain, what happened with the arrest of the influencer,
02:09which by the way I understand was Irish or American,
02:11at least the one that got a lot of press in the U.S.,
02:14is governmental control over speech.
02:18And there is the distinction.
02:19On those matters, I think there is sharp disagreement
02:21between the two leaders,
02:23but they were not going to be aired publicly.
