00:00Previously on Project Runway.
00:02You will be creating a street world look that speaks to your brand as a designer.
00:07I just don't think, like, a cool girl would dress that way.
00:11I definitely respect Christian's opinions, but I think my look looks amazing.
00:16I've been on the bottom the last two challenges, and Vijay keeps implying that I cannot do this without my brother.
00:22I have to prove to the judges that I am here to stay, that I am here for a reason.
00:26Girl, after last week, we both need to redeem ourselves.
00:29Seriously.
00:30You get a little in your feelings when the criticism comes.
00:33No, I'm taking it in.
00:34It does not feel good to get clocked once again by the Law Roach.
00:40Congratulations, Belania. You are the winner.
00:43Thank you, thank you.
00:45Yuchen, Joan, unfortunately, you were our least favorite looks.
00:49Joan, I just think that you made something that looks so old, she could go praise the Lord in this outfit.
00:55Yuchen, I am so mad as who over this look because you are a streetwear designer.
01:00I almost want to, like, jump out the chair and beat you up for making this look.
01:04At stake for the winner is $200,000, a spread in Elle magazine, and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:15This is Project One Way.
01:17I don't mean...
01:22Joan, Yuchen, we made our decision.
01:26Joan, we asked you to take us to the streets, but you took us to the sanctuary.
01:32I'm feeling bad.
01:34My look spoke to who I am as a designer, but maybe I should have listened to Christian and Jesus.
01:41Yuchen, this was your challenge to shine, but you gave us nothing new.
01:47I'm so mad.
01:48I feel so disappointed because streetwear is supposed to be my challenge.
01:52I feel like I disappoint everyone, especially Law. I'm sorry.
01:57Joan.
01:59Mm-hmm?
02:06I'm sorry you're out.
02:09Yuchen, that means you're in. You can leave the runway.
02:13Sure.
02:14Oh, no worries, sweetheart.
02:16Oh, no, it's okay.
02:21You're so sweet.
02:22You're so sweet.
02:25Aw, you're the babies.
02:30I just wanted to say we all think that you're a great designer.
02:34And you know, this was not your week.
02:36This was not your challenge.
02:37You will go back to your business.
02:39Yes.
02:39You dress amazing women.
02:41And I thank you guys for this opportunity.
02:43I am one of the older designers.
02:45You know, I'm 60.
02:47I'm fabulous.
02:48Yeah.
02:48You are.
02:49You can definitely walk out of here with your head up high.
02:52Yes.
02:54Get to hear a bit of zen.
02:56Auf Wiedersehen.
02:58Mwah.
02:59Thank you, Heidi.
03:00It's been a pleasure.
03:01Bye.
03:02Bye, John.
03:03Bye.
03:04You better work for 60, mama.
03:06Okay.
03:07Oh!
03:08She's coming from my job.
03:14I just feel so bad that Miss Joan is going home.
03:18I take it personally.
03:19I feel like John has to go home because of me.
03:21It's okay, baby.
03:22It's okay.
03:23Aw, Miss Joan.
03:25I'm going home.
03:26Stop it.
03:27No.
03:28What are you apologizing about?
03:30You are just starting your career.
03:32Oh, my lord.
03:33Yuchen, come on now.
03:35Aw.
03:36You have another opportunity to show them who you are.
03:39It's been a pleasure meeting all you guys and working with you and you're so talented.
03:48Oh, I don't want to cry.
03:49Ah!
03:50Not my Aussie.
03:52I love her.
03:53I love her.
03:54Miss Joan, you are the joy of the season.
03:59Saying bye to Miss Joan is one of the hardest things to do.
04:04She is one of those people that I connected in a deeper level.
04:08She's a very hard working person.
04:09She's kind.
04:10And I'm going to miss her.
04:11It makes my heart full to even be in the room with you guys.
04:15Miss Joan, she's got that just love in her soul.
04:21And she's offered me a lot of love and a lot of safe space.
04:25And I'm going to miss my little safe space.
04:29Kristen.
04:30Joan.
04:31They said I took them to church, Christian.
04:33And not to the street.
04:35See, that's because you weren't there at Moves with me to stop me from buying that fabric.
04:41Call me anytime, okay?
04:42I sure will.
04:44Project Runway saved my life, y'all.
04:48Joan, Joan, Joan.
04:49I came in this competition to prove to myself that I deserve to be here, that I'm strong,
04:56and I'm proud of myself.
04:58Miss Joan, child.
05:00Mm, mm, mm.
05:01I left it all on the runway.
05:08Shine, shine, shine, shine.
05:13Flex with it, gonna get it.
05:15No limit, yeah, you know I never stop.
05:18It's six of us now, so the competition is getting steep.
05:22I must make it to the final five.
05:25Oh, God.
05:26Wow.
05:27Oh, my gosh.
05:28I could use a nice expression.
05:29Oh, my God.
05:30How do you feel?
05:31I feel okay.
05:32I feel like I didn't really get a win.
05:33Congratulations.
05:34And I'm like, uh, I don't really feel like it.
05:37Last challenge, Law said that Bellana had an issue with her body language when she's being criticized.
05:42When you are being critiqued, your body language gets a little nasty.
05:47I was not doing that.
05:49Now you were.
05:50Wait.
05:51I agree with you, but I have to tell the foundation first.
05:54This is my creative process.
05:58This is my creative process.
05:59She's like...
06:00I don't know if that's what I was like.
06:05Is that how I look?
06:07Bellana, I love you, girl, but we gotta work on the attitude, girl.
06:11Hey, don't, like, people tell me what to do.
06:14Are you guys ready for the next challenge?
06:18I'm like, I'm the only one that hasn't won.
06:20You're the only one who hasn't won.
06:22I was so close last week to take that win home, which means now I can just taste the win for this next week.
06:31So leaving this challenge, you're gonna win it.
06:38Let's see if he can do it without his brother's help.
06:42Let's go.
06:43Let's go.
06:44Let's go.
06:46Christian.
06:47Oh, Heidi.
06:48How are you feeling?
06:50Like I'm ready for some horsing around.
06:55Well, giddy up.
06:56Let's bring in those designers.
06:58Woo!
07:00Wow.
07:01Oh, my God.
07:02Bringing me back.
07:03Oh, my God.
07:04Oh, he needs to step stool.
07:07That's a big horse.
07:08Chiquito.
07:09This is gonna take a hot minute.
07:11Oh.
07:12Oh.
07:13Oh.
07:14I missed it.
07:15Ye to the ha.
07:16You really get your groin out there.
07:19Yeah.
07:20Yeah.
07:21Well, as you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day you're out.
07:26What started out as 12 designers is now down to the dirty half dozen.
07:34For this next challenge, it's all about Western flair.
07:37Not only is pop culture obsessed with all things country, from Yellowstone to the Queen Bee herself, Cowboy Carter, but runways across the world are saddling up to fresh takes on classic country Western styles, fabrication, and design.
07:52So for this next challenge, you will be tapping into the zeitgeist and creating a look that is your take on Western chic.
08:01Western is one of the challenges that Antonio and I are so excited to have in the competition.
08:06I mean, I basically live with a cowboy.
08:08I love my cowboy hats.
08:10I love my cowboy boots.
08:12His closet, it's literally all Western.
08:14Shaps, like, leather jackets.
08:16This could be by wind.
08:17You have sunrise to sunset to complete your look.
08:21Half of us are gone.
08:23And now another one day challenge is going to decide the final five.
08:28The anxiety levels are ramping up, like.
08:32All right.
08:33Good luck, designers.
08:34Christian, should we mosey?
08:37Thanks, divas.
08:38Mwah!
08:45Oh, God.
08:47This place.
08:48I'd love, like, a burgundy leather.
08:50I know that a lot of designers are going to the leather section because, yes, it's a Western chic fashion challenge.
08:57And to me, why would I go there if all of you are already going there?
09:03Next!
09:04You're doing...
09:06How is this Western?
09:07You'll see.
09:08Oh.
09:09Silent killer.
09:10Like, I just don't understand how vinyl can be Western.
09:13Sway, sway, sway, sway.
09:15This week, the pressure is on.
09:17I have to win a challenge.
09:20What am I going to do?
09:21So far in the competition, I've used a lot of color.
09:23I've used a lot of print.
09:24And I'm like, you know what?
09:25I'm going to shock everyone, and I'm going to do white.
09:28I can do a mini skirt with French.
09:30I can do my jacket crop with French.
09:32Cuanto vale esta?
09:33It was, like, calling me.
09:34I was like, ah!
09:37Okay, this is cool.
09:38I don't know too much about Western culture.
09:41Do you know what a lasso is?
09:43Lasso? No.
09:44This looks like Christmas.
09:46Do not get this.
09:47This challenge is very personal for me because Antonio and I are from Northern Mexico.
09:54When I was three, I remember coming into America in our cowboy boots.
09:59So for this look, I really want to lean into a Western indigenous vibe.
10:04It's in my roots and it's in my DNA.
10:07And that's why I need to find the perfect fabric because I have to deliver.
10:13All right!
10:17I love my fabric.
10:21Your fabric loves you.
10:23Guys, I'm putting the interfacing by the muslin, okay?
10:28Getting into the workroom, I automatically just go straight to cutting my fabric.
10:32Because I really want to figure out what I'm going to make for under this coat now.
10:37I got this beautiful leather, but I don't have much of it.
10:40So I have to be really careful in how I use this leather.
10:44And at this point, I have to make something so innovative and amazing to be able to win this challenge.
10:53Oh, .
10:57Clearly you can interface on leather.
10:59What?
11:01Oh, .
11:02I just up my fabric.
11:04It burned it.
11:05Stop!
11:07Stop.
11:08Oh, no.
11:09I don't know what to do.
11:10I'm freaking out.
11:11I have no backup.
11:12Holy shit.
11:16It burned it.
11:17Holy shit.
11:18I haven't really, like, messed up throughout this whole competition.
11:21And then this happens to me.
11:23I cannot believe I just did this.
11:26He interfaced almost all his fabrics for some reason, but leather already has a body.
11:33So why would you interface a leather?
11:36Wait, that looks cool though.
11:38Juice has a top.
11:40It could even be a dress, bitch.
11:42The burning on Jesus' leather is giving kind of an armpit kind of energy.
11:48Okay, I'm going to be honest with you.
11:51It looks like pit stains.
11:53Because of the coloring.
11:54Are you going to treat it of some sort?
11:56Mm.
11:57Looks like boob sweat.
11:58Oh, .
11:59I trust Ethan's judgment.
12:00So am I screwed?
12:01At this point, there's nothing I can do.
12:02I just have to make it work.
12:03This is where we come from.
12:04Hello.
12:05Hi, everybody.
12:06Oh, should we go here?
12:07Oh, should we go here?
12:08I'm doing these front panels.
12:09I am making anything wear leather gown.
12:10She literally is going to look like a python.
12:14We love like a little snake in the grass.
12:15I grew up on a farm.
12:16Did you really?
12:17You grew up on a farm?
12:18I grew up on country restroom films and I literally grew up on a farm and these films surround themselves
12:43with powerful female energy and I'm trying to pull that energy into my clothes.
12:48Yee-haw.
12:49I'm making a two-piece denim western inspired set with a cotton button down.
12:56Similar to what you just said.
12:58It's not.
12:59I promise it's not.
13:00It's going to look totally different.
13:01All right.
13:02Are you feeling good?
13:03You won the last challenge.
13:04I feel like a disciplined child though.
13:06What did Law say?
13:07My body language is disrespectful when I'm getting a fatigue.
13:10So I have to be sharp.
13:12After getting called out about my attitude last week, it's very, very important to me
13:17to show the judges that I'm listening.
13:19I need to leave it in the workroom and not bring it on stage.
13:25We're fringing?
13:27Yeah.
13:28You're going to fringe this whole thing?
13:30For this challenge, I want it to be a little unexpected but still western chic.
13:35Yes.
13:36I am making a futuristic vinyl fringe dress.
13:39How are you going to do this?
13:42Hmm.
13:43That's a good cross shirt.
13:44I'm going to do a leather jacket crop.
13:47It's going to have a mini skirt that I'm going to fringe.
13:50Don't you think that it's like kind of a little bit done?
13:54He's right.
13:55It's just white leather jacket, a white leather skirt.
13:59So that's why I want the details to really stand out.
14:02I'm the only one that hasn't had a win.
14:04I've been in the top, but this close to winning.
14:06And I know that the techniques that I have in my brain can really take this look to the next level and win this challenge.
14:14What did you do?
14:15What is this?
14:16So it was a mistake.
14:17Oh.
14:18I tried to interface my leather and then burn.
14:20I think maybe the burning technique is kind of interesting.
14:25Maybe you do more to the skirt.
14:28Thank God.
14:30Work it hard.
14:31So I'm making this dress.
14:32Yeah.
14:33I wanted to make it all sequins.
14:35Mm-hmm.
14:36And I'm going to have like, you know, a little bit dripping on here.
14:38I can buy this at the mall right now.
14:40I just wanted to take this shining part of Western, like, you know, culture.
14:44I get it.
14:45Like a performance ass.
14:46Yeah.
14:47Like Dolly Parton.
14:48Do you know who that is?
14:49No.
14:50Oh, God.
14:51Are you all right?
14:53Need some water?
14:55I guess she is a very big country star.
14:59Yeah, she is.
15:01Here's my thing.
15:03You don't have to make a dress.
15:05You make jackets all the time.
15:06Why don't you make a cool jacket with fringe all over it?
15:09And you love the mini sexy skirt.
15:11And like, why can't it be more you?
15:15I have to stick on dress.
15:17Fine. Goodbye.
15:18Good luck.
15:19Last challenge.
15:20The judges didn't like my pants and hoodie.
15:23So I'm doing something different than making a dress.
15:26I've made my decision.
15:27I just hope I have enough time.
15:29But I will make something on the dress though.
15:31I'm just telling you.
15:32I'm warning you.
15:34Okay.
15:35You have to win this one.
15:38Everybody has one except me.
15:40Yeah.
15:41I've been close.
15:42I know you've been really close.
15:43How many times?
15:44I've been close two times.
15:45I was in the top twice.
15:46It's very exciting to see my brother when he challenges.
15:49But I came into this competition thinking I was going to do better than him.
15:53Wow.
15:55I'm starting to think Jesus is my biggest competition.
16:00Designer.
16:01There's a new sheriff in town.
16:04And there's only going to be room for one twin in this competition.
16:08Who would it be?
16:09Shervage.
16:10Who would it be?
16:11What is happening out here?
16:13Oh my God.
16:14One of them has to go at some point.
16:16So is it today?
16:17What?
16:18What?
16:19Oh my Lord.
16:20I think that dealing with one twin is very challenging.
16:23And dealing with two twins is even more challenging.
16:26They should both go home.
16:30BJ can act bored all she wants, but she's going to wake up real quick when she's in the bottom.
16:36What is that wig for?
16:41It's a tumbleweave.
16:42Girl, that's a wig.
16:43That's why somebody wig.
16:44It's a tumble wig.
16:45It's a tumble wig.
16:46It's a tumble wig.
16:47It's a tumble wig.
16:48It's a tumble wig.
16:50Oh my Lord.
16:52It's not working.
16:53I feel really bad for Yushin because I think that he does not have a clue what Western is.
17:00I mean, he didn't know who Dolly Parton is.
17:02So if you don't know who Dolly Parton is, you do not know what Western is.
17:05I'm interested to see how he pumps that out.
17:07I don't understand why he's doing a gown and not something that's in his element.
17:12You say he's pushing himself.
17:14I have hit a wall.
17:16I feel stuck and I'm moving so slow.
17:19I am so thankful for my second chance, but I need to prove I belong here.
17:25Hello.
17:26Hey, Christian.
17:27Hello.
17:28Anybody want to ride on my pony?
17:29Yes.
17:30Yes.
17:31Do I put in the front or in the back?
17:33Oh my God.
17:34Okay.
17:35Give me my pony back.
17:37All right.
17:38Enough of the pony.
17:39Okay.
17:40Let's bring in your model.
17:41Pony.
17:42Woo!
17:43I'm good.
17:44I don't know about the skirt.
17:46The top looks really cool.
17:47The skirt doesn't look cool yet.
17:49Can you like scrub?
17:50I am.
17:51I think it's ruined the fitting.
17:52Okay.
17:53You burn it.
17:54I burn it.
17:55I love it.
17:56I mean, I think the whole look turned out so good.
17:58I cannot believe that this mistake might turn out to be the greatest mistake I've ever done
18:05in this competition.
18:06It's looking almost like a piece of art.
18:08What about we have a lot of like fringe from the hat?
18:10To the floor like that?
18:12Yeah.
18:13I think you should make your dress more interesting first.
18:15More interesting.
18:16Or you can add a jacket because it's boring.
18:20But I don't know how to make the progress.
18:22Well, that's the challenge here, my friend.
18:27Mommy Christian is yelling at me.
18:29He want me to make a jacket, but I don't really have time.
18:32Since we already have the base dress, it's time for me to think about how am I going to make this more Western.
18:38One question.
18:39Do you think this hat wore this hat?
18:41I don't care about your stupid hat.
18:44I care about your dress.
18:45Hmm.
18:46What is your story?
18:48I don't have a story.
18:50No, but you have to give them something.
18:53If I had to go to a Western event, I would make this for myself and put it on.
18:57That's all I'm going to say.
18:59Yeah, Christian, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
19:02Does it get a shoulder pad?
19:04I think we can give you a shoulder pad.
19:07Doing this challenge, I know that I want to create something unexpected and out of the box.
19:12And what I'm doing.
19:14I think it's different, but it's a cool dress.
19:17BJ, you don't need any other accessories.
19:20Absolutely.
19:21You don't need any.
19:22No, get that bag out of here.
19:23You have a classic fringe dress.
19:25BJ's very proud of her look.
19:27But girl, I feel like she's going to be in the bottom.
19:30I feel like she thinks she thought outside the box, but I don't think she did.
19:34I think she made her model look like a box.
19:37Keep it simple.
19:40All right, designers.
19:41That's it.
19:42That's time with your models.
19:43Thank you so much, ladies.
19:45Love you.
19:46Love you.
19:47Less than three hours to go, and then we're going home.
19:53How to make it interesting?
19:55How to make it interesting?
19:56Maybe give her an old time saloon girls bustle.
20:00Nah.
20:01Or like a really cool neck scarf.
20:02Scarf?
20:03Girl, I'm throwing you ideas.
20:05You either pick them up and run with them, or you figure it out on your own.
20:10Okay.
20:11I think that Eugene is scared of this challenge.
20:13It is both out of his culture, and he's been really shook up these last few challenges.
20:22I'm so tired.
20:23Literally, I've been cutting the fringe for like eight hours.
20:25I know.
20:26You have a two day challenge.
20:27Yeah.
20:28For real.
20:29I'm pushing myself to the point of exhaustion.
20:32I know it's risky, but I hope that the judges will see the work that I put in.
20:37And maybe if they don't love it, they'll give me some grace to keep me from going home.
20:42It's no time.
20:44Ethan's dress is similar to the dress that I made from the boring fabric challenge.
20:58The judges don't like it when you show something that the other designers have already done.
21:03Jesus, I saw Ethan's dress, and it kind of reminded me of the gray dress that I made for Luz, right?
21:10Maybe it's unintentional, you know, but I mean, what do you think?
21:14Well, well, well, the bitch is staring the pot.
21:18I mean, I think it's very him.
21:22Yeah.
21:23It's definitely going to stand out.
21:25What do you think about Isla?
21:26Um, it's okay.
21:31I think it's important to be original.
21:33And if your work is referencing the work of your other competitors,
21:38then it means that you need to change that and you need to come up with something else.
21:42I don't want to cause drama, but I need to talk to Ethan.
21:47Okay.
21:48Are you going to be doing a lot of the crisscross detail?
21:51Mm-hmm.
21:52Because when I saw your dress, it kind of reminded me of the gray dress.
21:56Which one?
21:57The wool.
21:58His?
21:59No, my dress.
22:00Yours.
22:01What the ?
22:03It's not similar, but it's kind of like the same idea where it's kind of like,
22:06it has kind of like a cut out here.
22:09I think that Vijay is spewing bullshit.
22:12I don't agree that a full crocodile gown has anything to do with her wool mini dress.
22:20So when I saw, I was like, I think I need to tell Ethan because the judges might call you out for that.
22:25Especially Nina.
22:26I was like, don't copy each other.
22:28No way in hell would I want to plagiarize your boring work.
22:33So buzz off.
22:37Woo!
22:38It's Cowboy Day!
22:39Good morning, Cowboys!
22:40Yee-haw!
22:41Today's the runway show and the pressure is on.
22:44We're so close to the top five and there's no room for mistakes.
22:48We'll see what happens on the runway.
22:54Jesus, who do you think is in trouble today?
22:57You.
22:58Me?
22:59Oh my God, why me?
23:00I don't know.
23:01I don't, I don't know what the judges are going to think.
23:02I know.
23:03It's very risky.
23:04It's risky for sure.
23:05I'm worried about Vijay.
23:06Well, I'm not really worried because I want her to be out of this competition.
23:09Model!
23:10The diva!
23:11Hey, girl!
23:12What's up, girlfriend?
23:13Hello!
23:14Hello!
23:15Hi, Krisho!
23:16Oh my God, you look so sexy.
23:19Let's see what's going on around here.
23:24Do you think the front fits perfect?
23:26I had to take this whole panel, remove it from the inside and put it over top to alleviate
23:32the boob space.
23:35My I usually work with, they're all fake.
23:38They don't move.
23:39And then when I lift that up, that'll relieve the boob tension.
23:42So like real in this whole competition has been like a journey.
23:48It looks cool.
23:50I mean, listen, I don't know what they're going to think because it's a wild card.
23:55Yeah.
23:56I just want you to be prepared.
23:57Oh, damn.
23:58I wanted to sell this before you came.
23:59Ah!
24:00The twins may live and breathe Western, but I'm coming off of a win and I finally know
24:05who I am.
24:06I'm not backing down.
24:07I'm coming for them.
24:08I just got to watch my body language.
24:10Antonio, please take off the glasses.
24:12I get it.
24:17So are you going to do the whole booby horn situation?
24:21Yeah.
24:23I decided to make this bullhorn because I got inspired by Tibet culture, which is
24:30kind of similar to Western culture.
24:31In Tibetan culture, they put all these decorations on the bullhorn.
24:36That means good luck.
24:37And I know the bullhorn is screaming in the Western world.
24:40I think they're going to like it.
24:42You're going to be very, very slay on the stage.
24:45It's something.
24:46Yeah.
24:47She's very horny.
24:50All right, models.
24:51You guys can go to the Ulta Beauty salon now.
24:52We are back.
24:53Howdy, cowgirl.
24:54I want her to have pixels, but I want it to be behind her ear.
24:55So if I were to go into an Ulta Beauty, do they provide makeup services?
24:58Every Ulta Beauty store has a salon.
24:59Now, our professional stylists are trained to help you find your look, your vibe, and your
25:05moment.
25:06So everything from makeup to skincare to haircare, we're here to make you feel and look amazing.
25:11Oh, that's very cool.
25:23Art designers, that's it.
25:24That's time.
25:25Let's head to the runway.
25:39Hi!
25:40Howdy, howdy, howdy.
25:42Hi y'all, welcome to the runway.
25:45As you know in fashion, one day you're in
25:47and the next day you're out.
25:49For this challenge, you had one day
25:51to create your take on Western chic.
25:53Let's meet our judges.
25:55CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect,
25:58La Roche.
26:01And joining us, a country music star
26:04and the first African-American female
26:06to be nominated for a Grammy
26:08in the country music category, Mickey Guyton.
26:11Hello Mickey, welcome.
26:13And executive vice president
26:15and creative director for Gap Inc.
26:18and chief creative officer of Old Navy, Zach Posen.
26:22What is that?
26:23Oh my God, Zach Posen.
26:25I've seen that face on Project Runway so many times.
26:28This is not cute.
26:29He is very meticulous with craftsmanship,
26:32one of the best designers that I know.
26:34It's great to be back in the saddle here
26:37on Project Runway.
26:38No pun intended.
26:40All right, let's start the show.
26:47I nailed my look.
26:49It is Western and it's so chic.
26:52And this burn leather, what really was stressing me out,
26:55has turned into greatness.
26:57This burn is a technique that I would definitely do again.
27:01That is gorgeous.
27:03Like, I'm ready for a country mega.
27:10As I see my look go down the runway, I'm excited.
27:14I'm proud of it.
27:16My eye goes directly to the denim and the tan leather
27:20and the sharp point cutouts look really cool.
27:24I like it a lot.
27:25This one just gives me chills, one more.
27:27Mm-hmm.
27:27Like, I'd wear that right now.
27:29Now hear me roar just like a thunder.
27:33Know I ain't in a place.
27:35I love this.
27:36I love seeing it just snake down the runway.
27:40It's like Roberto Cavalli from 10 years ago.
27:42I just wish it would fit better on the breasts.
27:44Feels really good to see what I have accomplished,
27:47the styling and the detail.
27:49And it's fun.
27:50It's a moment.
27:51And if there's anything I know how to do, it's a moment.
27:55She's like taking me to a country award show, honey.
28:04I'm feeling so proud of myself, showcasing a piece
28:07that I put all my soul and intentions into it.
28:10What?
28:11That is stunning.
28:13I'm a fierce competitor.
28:14Don't underestimate me.
28:16Today is going to be tough.
28:18Mm-hmm.
28:19It's so good.
28:21Oh, yeah.
28:23Jump in and ride with me, not your fault.
28:28My vision to create something unexpected
28:31and not the usual Western chic fashion is very risky.
28:36Looking at all the creations on the runway,
28:38mine is different.
28:40But I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the judges
28:43will appreciate that I'm a designer who takes risk.
28:46It's like Casey Caldwell for prana.
28:48I don't understand that.
28:49You don't want to miss out.
28:55Will we harm?
28:59As Lyriss is going down the runway, I feel so happy.
29:03She's totally rocked out.
29:04And she looks so fierce.
29:06I'm very happy with the outcome.
29:07All right, now.
29:12Mm-hmm.
29:13Oh, no.
29:14She's going to sell a garment.
29:15She's definitely going to sell a garment.
29:17I can literally read Mrs. Law's face just
29:20by him rolling his eyes.
29:22I can see that some of these designers are in trouble,
29:24and I just hope I'm not one of them.
29:33Congratulations.
29:34It was quite the runway show.
29:37We scored your designs.
29:39Antonio, Jesus, Alania.
29:45You are our favorite designs this week.
29:53That means Ethan, Hugin, and Vijay,
29:58you had our least favorite designs today.
30:00You can leave the runway.
30:02Congrats.
30:08Gag.
30:09It's getting hotter.
30:11Mm-hmm.
30:12I'm really sad that the judges did not love what I made,
30:15and the rest did not pay off.
30:17But I think I made something bold,
30:19and I did not make something basic and literal
30:23like the other designers here.
30:25They definitely had the most, like,
30:28accessible pieces out of everybody.
30:31Yeah.
30:32I'm just surprised to be in the bottom
30:34because I know my look is really good
30:37comparative to, like, some of these looks that are so, like...
30:42There's got to be another word for boring.
30:43Like, I just don't think they're interesting.
30:45Like, if I can just go and buy them off the rack,
30:47I don't think that is interesting to me.
30:49So...
30:50You will see.
30:51Okay, let's bring out your models.
30:52Yes.
30:53Barbies!
30:54Stunning.
30:55Thank you so much.
30:56All right, Antonio, let's start with you.
30:57It is so special.
30:59I mean, wow.
31:00And to do this in a day and for that price...
31:02You kind of checked off the boxes for me.
31:04There's conchos, there's fringe.
31:05You're working with bow leather.
31:06And this band, waistband.
31:07The top.
31:08The belt.
31:09The buckle was black, so I wrapped it in leather.
31:11Such a good idea.
31:12Did the braise.
31:13Risque.
31:14It gives it the fashion edge.
31:15It's stunning.
31:16I'm Latino, so I think it's a good idea.
31:17It's a good idea.
31:18It's a good idea.
31:19It's a good idea.
31:20It's a good idea.
31:21It's a good idea.
31:22It's a good idea.
31:23It's a good idea.
31:24It's a good idea.
31:25It's a good idea.
31:26It's a good idea.
31:27You know, I'm Latino, so I needed to sex it up a little bit.
31:30Hey!
31:31I think that this outfit is absolutely beautiful.
31:34Latinos in country music have a very beautiful love affair.
31:38Vaqueros.
31:39Yep.
31:40The conchos, everything.
31:41There's a huge Latino movement in country music.
31:44And to see that and see that you're representing that
31:46is absolutely beautiful.
31:49The styling is absolutely phenomenal.
31:52The hair choice, the makeup choice, really, really well done.
31:56Well, I think of you every time I style down.
31:59I mean, you should.
32:00I'm the best.
32:01I know.
32:03Yeah.
32:04Okay, Balania, we're gonna talk to you next.
32:06When this came out, I knew exactly it was you, which is great
32:09because it's really showing us that you have a strong point of view.
32:12It's just absolutely stunning.
32:14Love the authenticity.
32:15Didn't feel like you were trying to interpret it as anything else but what it is.
32:19It was very genuine and honest, and I just thought the lines and everything were so beautiful.
32:23Just love it so much.
32:24You just did a great job.
32:25Thank you so much.
32:26The leather or suede material.
32:28Can't you just turn?
32:29Let's do it.
32:30It's great.
32:31I mean, just kind of complicated things happening here, right?
32:33Yes, it is.
32:34That are kind of working together.
32:35You're playing with different proportions, layering, volumes, transparency, graphic, and it kind of all works.
32:43I feel like you always find this way of putting things together that, in theory, don't really work in a way, but it totally works.
32:52And that makes it new again, so I loved it.
32:56Jesus!
32:57Hello.
32:58It is stunning.
33:00From every angle, every detail, that coat is just singing, you know, and that it's see-through.
33:04And when she walked, it was so beautiful, and all this fringe she put on there.
33:08The coat is really, really spectacular.
33:10I love going to vintage stores, and this looks like it could have easily been from the 70s that someone wore that to Woodstock and just kept it in the most pristine condition.
33:19What is the top?
33:20Is it a print?
33:21Is it molded?
33:22So creating this kind of, like, beautiful texture was a mistake.
33:26I like the mistake of it.
33:28Same.
33:29Same.
33:30That kind of spontaneity in design process is when the most interesting discoveries get found.
33:36Like, the mess that works.
33:37I thought that that was not a mistake.
33:39It's just so beautiful.
33:40Like, out the gate when I saw it, I loved it instantly.
33:43It's just amazing.
33:45Like, it was definitely one of my favorites.
33:47I mean, all of y'all are my favorites.
33:48That's why you are here.
33:49Thank you so much.
33:53I have to say this was a tough one.
33:54Yes, it was.
33:55Very tough.
33:56I'm the winner here because, really, you guys all did a fantastic job.
34:01The winning look not only felt true to country roots, it pushed the envelope of what Western chic looks like.
34:08Congratulations.
34:09This could be my win.
34:11My first win, finally.
34:17Jesus, you are the winner.
34:19Ah!
34:20Thank you so much.
34:21Thank you so much.
34:22Thank you so much.
34:23Thank you so much.
34:25Thank you so much.
34:26Thank you so much.
34:27Thank you so much.
34:28Thank you so much.
34:29Jesus wins.
34:30At this point, I am frustrated because I am the cowboy, and Jesus is not the cowboy, and I wanted my first win, finally.
34:42Oh, Jesus.
34:43Congratulations.
34:44You can leave the runway.
34:45Thank you so much.
34:50This was a tough win, you know?
34:51I really wanted Antonio to take the win.
34:52I won.
34:53Yeah.
34:54I mean, I really thought he was going to win.
34:57I mean, your win is his win, too.
34:59I know.
35:00That's what I mean.
35:01Here we go again.
35:02Jesus won another challenge, and I'm pretty sure that it's going to make him really, really cocky.
35:08Wow.
35:09I'm so relieved I made it to the top five, and I'm just climbing to the top, but BJ, girl, I think your time might be over soon.
35:17Ethan, BJ, and Yujin, you created our least favorite designs.
35:29All right, let's bring out your models.
35:34Ethan, let's start with you.
35:37Tell us about your look.
35:38I created my own evening wear, avant-garde, snake in the grass.
35:43When it first came out, it kind of felt like I had seen this.
35:46However seen in front of me right now, it's impeccably made.
35:50I thought the dress really is stunning.
35:53I think it was the ties that threw me off personally.
35:56I don't know if that's dark brown or black, but had it been something more in the tone of the skins, that would have elevated it a little bit more and made it look even more expensive.
36:06And there's something to me that's going on with the booth that's not quite flattering.
36:11It's too narrow.
36:12That's what pushed you out of the top three.
36:14The styling is really good.
36:15I love the cowboy hat.
36:16I love the drama with the tail.
36:18And it does feel country, right?
36:19Yes, it absolutely does.
36:20You missed the top three by just a few points.
36:23It's a showstopper.
36:24Mm-hmm.
36:25I'm not mad at it.
36:26VJC, the judges know that my work is not like your work.
36:31Okay, Yujin, can you tell us about your look?
36:33I want to bring this excitement on the runway.
36:36You know, a little drama and when she's walking on the runway.
36:38Like a nipple tussle.
36:39Right.
36:40So it's all about the excitement.
36:42What I'm looking for in this country western fashion is the authenticity.
36:46And I just don't think that that was executed in this.
36:51I don't understand how you are a streetwear designer and you gave us an evening dress.
36:59And a really bad evening dress.
37:01I don't think it fit her that well.
37:02If you're going to play with the satire and if it's going to be something that's about,
37:07like, horny disco, nasty couture, then it has to be, like, weirder and stranger and more perverse.
37:14Thank you, Zach.
37:15I feel like you just went for something so nutty that I'm like, did you think this was a winning look?
37:22The taste level here is beyond.
37:25Beyond.
37:26Beyond good or beyond bad?
37:27Beyond bad.
37:28Yeah, okay.
37:29We hate the dress.
37:31We hate the dress.
37:32We hate the dress.
37:33We hate the dress.
37:34Okay, Vijay, let's hear about your look.
37:37For this particular challenge, it was really intentional to kind of, like, go on a different direction.
37:43What is it going to be in the future to see what western fashion is?
37:48So let's start with the good.
37:49The good thing about you is that you know a woman's body.
37:52Mm-hmm.
37:53The way you cut that curve to make her waist look small in the exact place it should,
37:58and using that nude material was brilliant.
38:01Everything else is such a mismatch and so confusing.
38:06Yeah, this was a miss for me.
38:08This looked like a project runway nightmare.
38:10It didn't make sense to me.
38:12Western chic, I'm just not getting that here.
38:15Vinyl doesn't say modernity to me or futurism.
38:17Mm-hmm.
38:18It's kind of post-modern.
38:19You know, it's like it's been there.
38:20We've been there since the 60s.
38:22We asked for country chic, you gave us country shit, and I'm not going to hold that back.
38:27I think you were trying to, like, try something different, and the things that, like, trust your gut, it's always 100% correct.
38:35Thank you for all the feedback.
38:37Of course.
38:39Both twins are in the top, and I'm in the bottom.
38:42This is embarrassing.
38:44And now I might go home.
38:46This cannot be my ending.
38:48We have a lot to discuss, and sadly, one of you will be out.
38:52You can all leave the runway.
38:53Thank you so much.
38:58Well, it's really now between Vijay and Yuchen, because Ethan is safe.
39:03He was our number four today, right?
39:06He made tiny mistakes.
39:07Yeah.
39:08That kept him out of the top three.
39:10Yuchen going for two horns on the breasts and, like, bedazzling her from head to toe.
39:16And not even enough.
39:18There wasn't enough bedazzle for me to make it that weird.
39:21It's, like, not the moment.
39:23No.
39:24Last challenge, I was on the bottom.
39:26It took some confidence away from me.
39:28I've been questioning myself.
39:29If I got the chance to stay in the competition, I have to be able to shake that off.
39:34Hopefully, they give me that chance.
39:36There was absolutely nothing redeeming about it.
39:39Nothing.
39:40The accessories, the necklace, terrible.
39:42And then he just bedazzled it everywhere, put the necklace on the hat.
39:45I have that hat from Etsy, by the way.
39:47I know you do.
39:48I do.
39:49I saw you.
39:50Everybody who went to Beyonce's tour had that hat on.
39:51I mean, they did.
39:53He lost his confidence, though.
39:54We've all lost our confidence before.
39:56But this has, like, lost the plot.
39:59Vijay, I mean, she brought something that didn't feel chic at all.
40:03And the key to good Western, it has to be authentic.
40:06Any time that it's anything else, it seems like it's making fun of what Western culture is.
40:12It looked like a really bad costume party.
40:14It really did.
40:15Yeah, I hate it.
40:16You would never wear that.
40:17No.
40:18Right.
40:19This is recycled fashion, and it should be recycled.
40:21All right, let's bring them back out.
40:23See you later.
40:24Bye.
40:25Bye.
40:26Ah.
40:27Yuchen, Vijay, and Ethan, we've made our decision.
40:37I don't think I'm nervous for myself.
40:40However, it's a tight game between Vijay and Yuchen.
40:44And Yuchen, he's been a really good friend in this competition.
40:48So I want Vijay to go home.
40:53Ethan, you're safe.
40:54You can leave the runway.
40:55Thank you all so much.
40:57Yuchen, Vijay, one of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
41:06I know my confidence has been shaken, but I just hope the judges decide to keep me in the competition.
41:14I'm scared.
41:15I did everything that I can to stand out in this competition.
41:18I've waited for this opportunity for so long, and I can't go home yet.
41:23Next time on Project Runway, you will be making a look for women and men who struggle with eczema.
41:34Where do you want to get married?
41:35Mexico, for sure.
41:36Are we on a date right now?
41:37I just can't do friends.
41:38Everything Jewel is saying might send me home.
41:41I think that sweater is giving me nightmares.
41:43I'm trying to be quiet because you know people, they try to get my ideas.
41:46You really just didn't listen to him.
41:48It's Kate Middleton in 2006, drunk in the back of a cab.
41:50She just looked frumpy.
41:51I did not like this at all.
41:53What's the biggest sin?
41:54A sloppy toppy or a mismatch mess?
