00:01Hi Sadler's fans, I'm just outside Walsall's trading ground where I spoke to Matt Sadler and Walsall low-knee Ryan Finnegan ahead of this weekend's home clash against Tramia Rovers.
00:14Matt Sadler took the opportunity to open up about Jamie Jealous after his betting case was resolved last week.
00:21Obviously the news came out last Friday that he would be handed a five-month suspended ban which has been suspended for 12 months and fined £1,200.
00:32So essentially if he doesn't really spend then it's an opportunity for him now to move on from what's been a really difficult chapter.
00:40Matt Sadler opened up about those struggles and said this isn't an issue which is isolated to Jamie Jealous but it's an issue which is a football problem.
00:51Matt Sadler spoke about the fact that the release from Stephen Inge at the age of 18 was very hard for him to tackle.
00:58You know you can understand why maybe he spiralled somewhat afterwards and that the aftercare for players in such situations needs to improve.
01:08But in terms of his injury there is some good news on that and that's that he will be in contention for the weekend along with Prezi Farx and obviously both of them been struggling with groin issues of late.
01:21They were both back in training last week and building up to this weekend which is good news to hear.
01:28And yeah you know it's obviously in a good place at the moment.
01:31Four without defeat in League 2 so in those sort of top end places.
01:37Home records starting to look very strong again as well.
01:40Joint best defensive record in the division.
01:43Memories of Tramia Rovers are very good ones of late in particular that last clash at the Bescott which ended 5-1 in favour of the Sadlers.
01:54Jamil Matt surpassing a century of Football League goals that afternoon and of course Walsall setting a club record eight match winning streak in the league.
02:03Which was extended the following weekend with a 4-2 triumph over MK Dons.
02:09Also spoke about Charlie Bragg and Sadler really pleased to see him get two goals under his belt in the FA Cup second qualifying round in midweek.
02:17Said you know he really benefited from the contrasting spells that he's had at Ailes Owen.
02:21You know struggled for game time last season but has come in, hit the ground running and you know really in contention most weeks now to be a starting player.
02:29And player Sadler's talked about the importance of giving academy players opportunities and you know using the EFL trophy as he did in the first group game against Shrewsbury Town to give those players minutes and first team exposure.
02:45So yeah that's really pretty much the gist of what we spoke about and like I say there's an article just gone out about Jamie Jealous and everything Matt Sadler said on that on the Express and Star.
02:55And yeah plenty more to come from our conversation throughout the next couple of days.
