00:00A powerful M6.0 earthquake just shook Russia's Kamchatka coast, but this is no ordinary quake.
00:06It's part of a chain reaction from one of the strongest quakes in modern history.
00:10On September 15, a shallow magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit near Kamchatka.
00:15It struck just before dawn, shaking over 250,000 people across the region.
00:20The epicenter was deep in the Pacific, but close enough to be felt in nearby cities.
00:25Surprisingly, this quake isn't an isolated event.
00:29It's an aftershock from the massive M-808 earthquake that hit back in July.
00:33That megaquake was so powerful, it moved parts of Kamchatka by over 2 meters.
00:38It caused a tsunami seen across the Pacific, from Russia to Japan to Hawaii.
00:43Just days before this latest tremor, a M-7.4 quake also hit the same region.
00:49All of them are part of a violent domino effect along the Kuril-Kamchatka Trench,
00:54one of the most active earthquake zones on the planet.
00:57Despite the shaking, there's no tsunami threat this time.
01:00And thankfully, no major damage or injuries reported.
01:03But these quakes are a loud reminder.
01:06Nature's power is still very much awake in the Pacific Rim.
01:09How many more aftershocks are still waiting beneath the surface?
01:13Historically, there's no more in the Pacific Rim.
01:16It's been a state-wide.
01:17For the whole area for the water is also very much awake.
01:19So you can look for failures.
01:21You can look for barriers.
01:22A little more in the Pacific Rim.
01:23It's been a beach.
01:24It's been a beach for a while.
01:25And it's been a Argentinian in the Pacific Rim.
01:27In the Pacific Rim.
