00:11This is a responsible target, backed by the science, backed by a practical plan to get
00:17there and built on proven technology.
00:20It's the right target to protect our environment, to protect and advance our economy and jobs
00:27and to ensure that we act in our national interest and in the interest of this and future generations.
00:36Setting a 2035 target is a compulsory part of Australia's commitment to the Paris Agreement
00:42to keep temperatures from rising to dangerous levels.
00:46Alongside our 2035 target today and the release of this report here, Australia's net zero plan
00:55going forward. We're announcing significant new measures that build on our existing plans.
