00:00The Commission on Elections suspends preparations for the parliamentary polls of the Bangsamoro
00:05Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, or BARM. This after the Supreme Court issued a temporary
00:10restraining order against redistricting in the region. In a resolution, the Comalic says there
00:15is no clear automatic revival of the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act, or BAA-58, the law that created the
00:21original division of parliamentary seats in the Bangsamoro. BA-77, which is the subject of a TRO,
00:27redistricted the region to reallocate the seven seats originally given to Sulu,
00:31which has been excluded from the BARM. In effect, all of the districting provisions in both BAA-58
00:37and 77 were effectively repealed. Because of a TRO, the Comalic says there is
00:42no clear statutory authority for the election of parliamentary district representatives in BARM.
