00:00It's a shot in the arm, really, working with these young kids.
00:02They're staggeringly good.
00:04Second collaboration in a row with Tim,
00:07these kind of more contained stories after the kind of the madness
00:11and the scope of the Oppenheimer stuff a couple of years ago.
00:14Has this felt a little bit like a creative homecoming in a way
00:17or something completely new?
00:19No, it's just a progression, I suppose.
00:21It's just kind of, you just keep working.
00:23You keep looking for the stories that appeal to you,
00:26that may test you, you know?
00:28So it's not really conscious.
00:31It's more emotional for me.
00:33Speaking about being tested,
00:34Steve is like the ballast and the North Star
00:37for the rest of the characters in this story.
00:39But kind of inside, he's also like drowning and like falling apart in a way.
00:43And I thought that was an interesting parallel, perhaps, in this movie,
00:46not only a number one on the call sheet, but you're also producing.
00:48You're so creatively involved.
00:50Has there been any part of you which has felt a kinship with him,
00:55trying to keep the ship afloat and a success wearing all those different hats?
00:59Or is it something you found quite natural?
01:00They're very separate, you know?
01:02He's a teacher.
01:04We're doing dress up, you know what I mean?
01:07He has a much more serious job than I do.
01:09This is a particular film where you surround yourself with this incredible young talent,
01:14this incredible emerging talent.
01:16It's kind of insane when you see some of the performances you've got on screen.
01:19You think, I don't know who this guy is, and look what he's capable of doing.
01:23Yeah, they're amazing.
01:24I guess this is the first time you've been involved in a project like that
01:27where you've sort of shone a light on other people.
01:30And has that been one of the best things about him?
01:33Shot in the arm, really, working with these young kids.
01:35They're staggeringly good, you know?
01:38And I predict great things for all of them, particularly Jay, yeah.
