00:00
And the Immortal Man, do you both survive to the end?
00:03
Don't forget though, yeah? Yeah?
00:05
Does he survive? Does he die at the end?
00:08
Jay, mate, congratulations again on this movie.
00:10
We've spoken already, I've told you how much I enjoyed it.
00:13
But nights like tonight where you actually get to take to the car for it,
00:16
you're side by side with this cast who I'm sure you're very close to
00:19
during the making of this movie.
00:20
It kind of puts things into perspective a little bit, I guess, doesn't it?
00:24
Reminds you how privileged you are to be like
00:26
where you are and the stories that you're telling?
00:28
Oh, of course, man. These are the most important stories.
00:31
And personally, the stories that I love,
00:33
these groundbreaking, heartbreaking, emotional topics
00:37
that we're trying to show on film.
00:41
You know, mental health is a very sensitive topic
00:43
and, you know, it's important to talk about.
00:46
How difficult was it as a film to make for you?
00:48
Because you always say, like actors say,
00:50
they have to plunge their own depths.
00:52
Like the characters aren't just the characters on the page,
00:54
but it's a little bit of them as well as what you see on screen.
00:57
And you had to kind of go to a place in this
01:01
that was sometimes quite difficult to watch.
01:03
Yeah.
01:04
So how has that been for you kind of creatively?
01:07
Was it sort of something you're excited to do every morning
01:11
or was this you were at war with yourself
01:14
to get what you put on the screen?
01:16
I felt like the escapism was very freeing to play shy.
01:21
So personally, like, I did enjoy it,
01:23
but, you know, it doesn't take away with the tasks at hand that I have.
01:28
But also it's just like a lot of resource.
01:30
So like talking to my dad because he was working
01:33
in these alternative educational units.
01:36
The book, which is just incredible to me.
01:39
Like, Max is a genius.
01:40
Tim Meilens as well, Tim Meilens,
01:43
the conversations that we had.
01:45
And, yeah, look, I've been saying it today,
01:47
but I just felt so safe with these boys.
01:50
And, you know, when you have safety,
01:51
you feel like as an actor you can just go anywhere.
01:54
And if you go too far, they can just bring you back.
01:56
Yeah.
01:56
You know?
01:57
And you're side by side with one of the most lauded actors
02:01
on screen today, Cillian Murphy.
02:04
Not just in this, but in the Peaky Blinders movie
02:06
that is coming up.
02:07
You can't tell us too much about it.
02:09
But talk me through this experience working with him at the moment.
02:12
What have you gleaned from working with him so far
02:16
and the way he operates and the way he conducts himself
02:18
and the way he approaches the work?
02:20
What have you soaked up as an actor
02:23
over the course of these two fantastic pieces of work?
02:26
Well, one fantastic piece of work,
02:27
and I'm going to assume the Peaky Blinders movie is a banger.
02:29
I think he's just like a curious and passionate human being.
02:33
I think he really loves what he does.
02:36
And one of my favourite moments was just like
02:38
when I'd see him behind the monitor
02:40
and just seeing what he's nitpicking at.
02:43
But then also just an amazing scene partner,
02:45
a very giving person.
02:47
The most important thing for me is just how human he is.
02:49
You know what I mean?
02:50
It's like with everyone in this,
02:52
it's like you leave your egos at the door
02:54
because we're telling something that is very honest.
02:56
and if you have any of your ego in front of you,
02:59
we're not going to be able to be as vulnerable as we like.
03:04
So, yeah, man, very grateful.
03:06
The guys looked out for me this last year
03:08
and I can't thank him enough.
03:10
And the Immortal Man, do you both survive to the end?
03:13
Can I give a...
03:13
Bob, get there, yeah?
03:14
Yeah, did you survive?
03:15
Did you die at the end?
03:16
Bob?
03:16
Yeah, no matter what...
03:17
I'll go out, I'll catch you then.
03:19
Bye, mate.
03:20
Thanks, bro.
03:21
Take care.
