00:00Hello, yes. The Metropolitan Police had asked for the public's help to trace 11 people following violent disorder during protests in central London on Saturday the 13th of September.
00:15The force reported several incidents across the city, most linked to the Unite the Kingdom protest in and around Whitehall in central London.
00:25A counter-protest also took place, organised by Stand Up to Racism. On the day, officers made 24 arrests and later pursued further enquiries into other offences as well.
00:40Police said they wanted to speak to the additional 11 people in connection with public order incidents and assaults on emergency workers.
00:50The appeal came as the Met confirmed that of the 24 arrested for offences, including public order breaches, assaulting emergency workers and criminal damage, eight had already been charged.
01:06Elon Musk weighed in on X, formerly known as Twitter, telling Britons they must fight for their survival.
01:15Labour Member of Parliament Peter Gull condemned his comments. Here is what he had to say.
01:21We must talk about the very significant protests yesterday in London and one of President Trump's former allies, Elon Musk, told protesters in London that violence is coming.
01:33He said people have to fight back or die. Is the world's richest man trying to incite violence in this country?
01:39I thought that they were slightly incomprehensible comments that were totally inappropriate.
01:46But what we saw yesterday was over 100,000 people who were expressing freedom of association, freedom of speech and proving that both of those things are alive and well in this country.
01:58What worries me most is the divisions in our society and other societies and other democratic societies.
02:03There are, it's not even the left and the right at the moment, there are communities that are being driven further apart and there are figures such as Tommy Robinson that is able to touch into a sense of disquiet and grievance in the community, in our society.
02:21A lot of it was, goes back to its roots in the financial crisis and the impact that had on communities around the country.
02:25And we haven't been able to bring our communities back together again since.
02:30So I think these are moments that are claxon calls to us in public life to redouble our efforts, to address the big concerns that people right across our country have.
02:40And immigration is a big concern. It's a concern that I and the Prime Minister share very deeply and we are acting on and other concerns as well.
02:47But we have to do it in a way that can start to bring communities back together again.
02:51That is something that we have not solved. It is something we are striving for.
02:55It is something that all of us in public life must double down on.
