Shadow Chancellor, Mel Stride MP, condemns the Government saying it “doesn’t have a grip” as Starmer is struggling with a number of scandals. 00:13But I think this speaks to a broader sort of chaos that there is in number 10 at the moment.

00:18So we've got the Peter Mandelson, Jeffrey Epstein scandal running at the moment,

00:24we've got an emergency debate in the Commons on that at the moment,

00:26we've got Angela Rayner who had to resign over her tax affairs,

00:30we've now got Paul Avendon also resigning over these texts.

00:35These are distractions to real challenges that our country has around the economy,

00:39around small boats and so on, and it just really feels like a government that doesn't have a grip.
