00:00They have made a statement that they're looking to widen the investigation and to probe whether pro-trans online groups and others connected with Robinson knew in advance about the plan to kill him, but the mindset of a guy, they could assassinate someone, we assume for the first time in his life, and go online and engage and be lighthearted and just mock the fact that he looks like the killer, even though he is, that mindset, I just can't understand.
00:27Well, I know if you go on social media and you start watching some videos about Charlie Kirk and some of the past comments and some of his speeches, another one will pop up and another one will pop up.
00:36So I spent a lot of the weekend going through a lot of what he has said in the past.
00:40I think we've learned a lot more about him, even in death than we did in life.
00:43And then we were all craving some sort of a spiritual component yesterday.
00:48And Sean and I went to church, or we watched church online, a church we love in South Carolina.
00:52And they honored Charlie Kirk, the pastor, said, could everyone please kneel and let's say a prayer for Charlie.
00:59He also remembered the family of the girl who was slain on the train in North Carolina.
01:04And there's something called, Lawrence, the Charlie effect.
01:08It's Christians online are revealing that they've been attending mass to celebrate his fearless pursuit of Jesus.
01:13And one person wrote on online, my son asked if I wanted to go to church with him on Sunday.
01:19He's not a church goer.
01:21We're going to Saturday mass, the Charlie Kirk effect.
01:24Another one said the Catholic church where I attended mass today, remember Charlie Kirk and his priest homily.
01:29Masses are being offered across the country for the repose of his soul.
01:32So that's important for two reasons, Ainsley.
01:35I think what's happening in memory and Charlie shows potential other assassins that if you thought you were going to silence a movement, the opposite is happening.
01:45But I think as it goes to the investigation, to Brian's point, there's a couple of things that still need to be solved there in the sense of in the chat room.
01:55Okay, they say these messages, and we're going to ask the director that's going to be coming up on our show in the next hour, FBI director, this happened after the assassin.
02:06Okay, so obviously there was a chat going on before.
02:09Did he discuss any of his plans before?
02:11He felt comfortable bragging that he looked like the assassin when he really was the assassin.
02:18So there had to be some type of conversation.
02:20We also know that relatives said that he was very vocal about him hating Charlie Kirk.
02:28So he's been talking with his family members about it as well.
02:31Also, the narrative a couple of days ago with this guy was MAGA.
02:34He obviously was not MAGA.
02:36And we found out that his lover is transitioning.
02:40It wasn't just a roommate.
02:42It was someone that he was intimate with.
02:44All of that impacts this investigation.
02:47And he's cooperating.
02:48He's cooperating.
02:49And that, too, I guess, to a degree.
02:51And we'll see.
02:52I would say this.
02:52The family is conservative.
02:54He evidently wasn't.
02:55They said that a couple of his coworkers said, yeah, he was very quiet.
02:59And, in fact, one time we were having a conversation about politics.
03:01And most of us at work at the electrician, where he was an electrician, he left in 2023, started talking about politics.
03:07He went into the laundry room and just sat there by himself, isolated.
03:12He couldn't handle the conservative talk.
03:15So, I mean, you begin to see that.
03:16They said the only other time he showed interest is when you talked about guns.
03:20Well, we've all been wondering who's going to take over for Charlie Kirk for his show.
03:25And J.D. Vance put on X.
03:28Tomorrow, he wrote this yesterday.
03:30Tomorrow, I will have the honor of hosting the Charlie Kirk show.
03:33Please join me as I pay tribute to my friend, 12 p.m. Eastern time.
03:38So, he'll be hosting the show today.
03:39So, one of Charlie Kirk's business partners, everyone thinks, you know, when you're honoring a man, you think it's just about Charlie.
03:51But I think what you're learning is that it's bigger than him because of the young people that he represented.
03:56So, his business partner and executive producer shared this news yesterday.
04:01He said, I wanted to share a praise report from TPUSA.
04:05The organization has received over 32,000 inquiries in the last 48 hours on how to start new chapters.
04:13To put that into perspective, TPUSA currently has 900 official college chapters and around 1,200 high school chapters with a presence of 35,000 total.
04:28Charlie's vision to have a club, America chapter, our high school brand, and every high school in America around 23,000 will come true much more faster than could have possibly, could have ever possibly imagined.
04:46Truly incredible.
04:48And that's his mission.
04:49That's what he wanted.
04:50Andrew was very impressive with Laura Ingram.
04:53It's the first time I've seen him.
04:54But you just know, to get these events going like the way they're going, there has to be an organizer, a Tim Cook-type person behind the scenes with a Steve Jobs.
05:01Steve Jobs was the vision.
05:02Tim Cook was the implementer.
05:04And Steve Jobs dies.
05:05Tim Cook steps up and elevates other people.
05:08Maybe it could be something on a smaller scale like that.
05:11I also think that if people are, like, I look at a guy like Reince Priebus, who ran the RNC brilliantly.
05:16If there are organizationally minded people that could help in at this moment to set the tone, because this is the moment where people are open to, what is turning point?
05:26Let me help out.
05:27I love this guy.
05:28I'm finding out about him for the first time.
05:30I just hope people on the outside could say, I want to use my expertise to help out.
05:34That could be your way of having a tribute.
05:36Yeah, I'm so impressed with the younger generation and how they're carrying on his conservative activism.
05:43And I was so impressed with his wife over the weekend.
05:45I think everyone was.
05:46It's what a lot of people were talking about this weekend.
05:49She had this emotional address to the nation, and it was her first public appearance after her husband was killed.
05:55Here's a clip of Erica Kirk.
05:57The evildoers responsible for my husband's assassination have no idea what they have done.
06:11They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and of God's merciful love.
06:20But they should all know this.
06:24If you thought that my husband's mission was powerful before, you have no idea.
06:35You have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country and this world.
06:42You have no idea.
06:43You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife.
06:53The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.
07:04To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die.
07:10It won't.
07:11I refuse to let that happen.
07:14It will not die.
07:17All of us will refuse to let that happen.
07:21No one will ever forget my husband's name, and I will make sure of it.
07:28It will become stronger, bolder, louder, and greater than ever.
07:35That knows Erica.
07:38She's a sweet person, and everybody loves her.
07:42She used to be Miss Arizona, as I said, last week.
07:45And she's normally very calm, cool, collected.
07:49She has a Christian wear brand that she likes to sell and just share the gospel in that way.
07:55There's been some debate.
07:56Who's going to be the person to take over?
07:58I think she pretty much cemented it with her speech yesterday.
08:01I've never seen her with such just focus on the mission.
08:07And I think she's right.
08:09You're going to be hearing from her.
08:10And she's making—she said during that speech that the turning point event that was planned, the tour, will continue.
08:17I mean, can you imagine after your husband was just assassin, and you're saying you're going to continue the rest of the tour?
08:24The big turning point event, she said, is going to continue.
08:28She's not resting at all.
08:30I think that's what he would have wanted.
08:32That was his whole mission.
08:33And if you look at his social media accounts, my goodness, they have surged.
08:37Look, just comparing Instagram from September 9th to what it is today, almost doubled.
08:43Look at TikTok.
08:45It was 7.3.
08:46Now it's 9.3.
08:48His YouTube, 3.8.
08:50Now it's 4.7.
08:52And YouTube for Turning Point USA is now at 3.8.
08:56I mean, that's going to be the impact.
08:57You've got the numbers.
08:58You've got the chapters.
08:59You have the social media presence that's going to make news every time something's posted.
09:03Meanwhile, tributes are pouring in all over the sports world this weekend.
09:06Remember, we sold you as early as Thursday Night Football.
09:09It's all about Charlie's life and legacy.
09:11Ty Powell has the details.
09:12Good morning, Ty.
09:13Good morning to all three of you.
09:14Multiple teams and sports fans honoring Charlie Kirk with touching tributes over the weekend.
09:19Organizations across the NFL yesterday honoring Kirk, including this emotional moment from the New York Jets game.
09:27Charlie!
09:29Charlie!
09:30Charlie!
09:31Charlie!
09:32Charlie!
09:33Charlie!
09:34Charlie!
09:34Charlie!
09:35In total, at least a dozen NFL teams held some form of tribute to Kirk this weekend, including this moment of silence from the Dallas Cowboys.
09:44In Charlie's home state of Arizona, the Cardinals holding a moment of silence as well before their game, as did the Carolina Panthers ahead of theirs.
09:52And in Tennessee, the Titans holding this tribute ahead of their game against the L.A. Rams, remembering the legacy of the 31-year-old.
09:59In college football, South Carolina fans seen flooding the stadium on Saturday with signs that read,
10:06Rest in Peace, Charlie Kirk, and Charlie Kirk died a hero.
10:10Prove me wrong.
10:12This before the school held a moment of silence for Charlie prior to their game against Vanderbilt.
10:16Head coach of Kirk's favorite team, the Oregon Ducks, taking time to offer his thoughts, sharing this message of unity.
10:23Listen.
10:24We recently found out, like, Charlie Kirk was an Oregon fan, right?
10:29I didn't know that.
10:30I hurt for his wife, Erica, and their kids.
10:32Like, that sort of evil should never exist.
10:35Life matters, you know?
10:36And I think we've lost sight of that.
10:39But I just wish the world could learn a little bit of something from our locker room, because we've got a bunch of people with differences.
10:44And what you've got in there is a bunch of people who love their...
10:46The White House praising the tribute, saying they reflect the widespread admiration for Kirk's dedication to inspiring the next generation of American patriots.
10:57Back over to you.
10:58Also, something else happened in South Carolina.
11:01The University of South Carolina took note, too.
11:03Yeah, they had a moment of silence.
11:06You saw the individuals holding the signs.
11:08Thank you so much, Todd.
11:09You're welcome.
11:09But...
11:16Yes, at the game.
11:18Israeli-American alliance, it's as strong and as durable as the stones of the Western world that we just touched under President Trump and Secretary Rubio and their entire team.
11:31This alliance has never been stronger.
11:33Before departing Washington, Rubio told the press that President Trump remains unhappy with Israel's strike on Doha and the schism that then created with the other Gulf allies.
11:48He wants the war to end.
11:50He wants all 48 hostages home, including those that are deceased.
11:54And he wants it all at once.
11:55Like, he wants all the hostages out, not 5 and 10 and piecemeal.
11:58And we'll have to discuss about how the events last week had an impact on the ability to achieve that.
12:05The other big agenda item for Secretary Rubio here is these new Israeli plans to annex the West Bank.
12:13The Trump administration has not made, at least as of now, their position clear on this.
12:18We do know, guys, that the Europeans are very upset about it.
12:23The other Gulf states are very upset about it.
12:25So hoping to hear some more from the Secretary on that today.
12:27The UAE warned that if you do that, then they're going to pull out of the Abraham Accord.
12:32So that's going to get President Trump's attention.
12:34Jillian, do you know, has the Gaza City offensive begun or are they still mobilizing?
12:41Well, it appears to have begun, Brian.
12:4330 residential and other buildings attacked just in the last 24 hours.
12:48So while I don't know what the Israelis were saying about it officially, it certainly appears to have, you know, gotten off the ground and, you know, started running now.
12:57Yeah.
12:58And this is it.
12:59All right.
12:59Thanks, Jillian.
13:00We'll be following you all day.
13:01Glad you're over there.
13:02Thank you so much.
13:03Well, I realize that a lot of people are equivalent.
13:04Other nations, especially not not even on the border of this and don't have to deal with this conflict are equivalent about this.
13:11But who's going to fight the terrorists?
13:14Who's going to prevent another October 7th from happening again?
13:16And if the UAE and many of these Muslim countries have a problem with this, why won't you tell the world why won't you take the refugees in your country?
13:28Oh, we know why, because they start causing problems in your country.
13:31So there's a lot of people victim blaming Israel right now.
13:36And it's just so weird to me.
13:38No other country has ever, when they were at war with their attackers, had to provide shelter and food and everything.
13:44They're being required.
13:46They're the victims here.
13:47They got attacked.
13:48And they have been told at every move that they've taken that they're wrong for taking the move.
13:55So I just wish, besides the president and the vice president, someone on the national stage would speak with moral clarity on this issue.
14:04Right.
14:04If Hamas survives, they win.
14:07Doesn't matter.
14:07Even though they're being decimated, if they survive, they win.
14:10If they're still in control.
14:11Okay, let's hand it over to Carly.
14:12She has some headlines for us.
14:14Hey, Carly.
14:14Good morning to you.
14:15The trial of Ryan Ruth, the man accused of trying to assassinate President Trump exactly one year ago at his West Palm Beach golf course, is set to continue this morning.
14:25More government witnesses and law enforcement officials are expected to take the stand on their response to the incident and the evidence collected.
14:32Ruth will continue to represent himself in the case.
14:35As he faces five federal charges, he faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted.
14:41Two men have been arrested after allegedly placing an explosive device under a Fox News affiliate vehicle in Utah.
14:49Police say the potential bomb had been lit but failed to work.
14:53The FBI says when they went to the suspect to search the suspect's home, they found loads of firearms, illegal narcotics, and fake mass destruction weapons.
15:03The two suspects were booked into the county jail and face multiple charges, including threat of terrorism.
15:10They are being held without bail.
15:12New York Governor Kathy Hochul announcing her endorsement of New York City mayoral candidate Zoran Mamdami.
15:19Hochul explaining her decision, writing, quote,
15:21We've had our disagreements, but in our conversations, I heard a leader who shares my commitment to a New York where children can grow up safe in their neighborhoods.
15:31I heard a leader who is focused on making New York City affordable, a goal I enthusiastically support.
15:37Congresswoman Elisa Fanek is warning this could mark the end of Hochul's political career.
15:42She is going to join us later this morning.
15:44President Trump is heading to the U.K. tomorrow for his second state visit.
15:49King Charles and other members of the royal family are expected to greet the president with a massive ceremonial welcome.
15:55This will include a carriage procession to Buckingham Palace, followed by a lavish state banquet in the palace's ballroom,
16:03where several high-profile names are expected to be in attendance, although the guest list is still considered a secret.
16:09So there will be some pomp and circumstance and some work done, too,
16:12because there's going to be a big nuclear deal, guys, that could power A.I. companies.
16:16Yeah, you got to get practical.
16:18Nuclear is now cool again.
16:20Thank you so much.
16:20Thanks, Carl.
16:21Thanks, Carl.
16:21A nurse filing a lawsuit after she says that she was suspended from her job after calling out a doctor who allegedly said that Charlie Kirk deserved to die.
16:30We'll speak to her coming up.
16:32Plus, FBI Director Cash Patel is here with an update on their investigation into Kirk's assassin.
16:37That's next.
16:40Ledge assassin Tyler Robinson was reportedly in a 20-person group chat where an acquaintance joked that he resembled the suspect.
16:51According to the New York Times, Robinson responded that his doppelganger was trying to, quote, get me in trouble.
16:59He didn't mock the manhunt and joked that he would split the reward money if they turned him in.
17:06Here's Utah Governor Spencer Cock.
17:09He has not confessed to authorities.
17:13He is not cooperating.
17:16But all the people around him are cooperating.
17:19And I think that's that's that's very important that his roommate was indeed a boyfriend who is transitioning from from male to female and that that that he is cooperating with with authorities as well.
17:33And Governor, you told the Wall Street Journal that Tyler Robinson was deeply in.
17:40Former FBI agent Stuart Kaplan joins us now.
17:43Stuart, you've been great on this topic, on this assassination, on your analysis.
17:49The first question that comes to mind when I hear what was going on in that chat is first, if you thought that he resembled.
17:58And it looks like there was 20 people in this chat.
18:01Did you make a call to the bureau to any law enforcement?
18:06Good morning, Lawrence.
18:07So legally, there is no obligation that they had to cooperate, you know, basically tipping off the FBI and turning him in.
18:17Now, the interesting part of that is, will the FBI, through their investigation, make a determination as to whether after the fact, meaning after the assassination,
18:26did any of these roommates or any of these people do anything, perhaps obstruct or impede the FBI from more quickly apprehending him?
18:36That's to be seen.
18:37But again, there's no legal obligation that a person must cooperate and turn someone in.
18:43So the other factor in this is now the roommate that we know that he also had a romantic relationship with and was transgender.
18:53He turned him in in the sense of has been cooperating with the FBI.
18:57The father turned him in, but he's been giving over messages and the back and forth.
19:03If he knew anything before the attack, does that complicate things in this investigation?
19:11So you got a cooperative witness at one point, but if he knew some information that could complicate it, right?
19:19You know, Lawrence, here's what I'm going to say, and I'm going to go back to something that I've repeated many times.
19:26I think our classrooms have been turned into factories for indoctrination of these crazy, crazy ideologies.
19:33And I think we have a crisis in the United States ongoing right now where these seeds have been planted in the younger generation,
19:40where there's a depraved indifference to human life.
19:43And I think I would certainly morally hold the roommate accountable and question how it was possible that he didn't notify law enforcement in advance,
19:52perhaps starve off Charlie Kirk's assassination.
19:57But that's a morality question.
20:00And quite frankly, I think the crisis in America is our moral fiber has been completely torn.
20:05And this is a perfect example of a person perhaps knowing enough that had it been called to law enforcement,
20:12maybe this could have been intercepted and this end result of Charlie Kirk being assassinated may have been prevented.
20:19Stuart, I'm glad you went there.
20:21It's a big picture as someone that used to be in law enforcement.
20:24What needs to happen to alter course here?
20:28Because people are being radicalized.
20:32There's no doubt about it, Lawrence.
20:34And I think when you hear from Kash Patel, who, you know, thank God he is now the current director of the FBI
20:40because the former administration allowed these seeds to be planted in these classrooms and now they're germinating.
20:47And we see, for example, last December, we had a 26-year-old who laid and waited and executed as CEO of United Health.
20:54We had just several weeks ago a young person shoot up a church.
20:58This is the crisis that America is in.
21:00We were more concerned or more distracted by Islamic jihadists radicalizing our younger generation.
21:08This is not what is unfolding now in the United States.
21:11We had these higher educations front and center.
21:16Ivy League schools allowing anti-Semitic behavior to grow like wildfires,
21:21to burn their schools down,
21:23to push out Jewish students with no students being held accountable.
21:27No one was expelled.
21:29So this is a crisis that has been allowed to fester.
21:32And now, unfortunately, we're seeing the byproduct play out.
21:36We got to do better.
21:37And we're going to start by getting the FBI director, Kash Patel, on this morning to react to what's going on here.
21:44And he's going to give us all the information that he can share.
21:47Thank you so much, sir.
21:50My pleasure.
21:51Thank you, Lawrence.
21:52So New Jersey nurse says she was suspended after defending Charlie Kirk.
21:56She's here to tell us all about it next.
22:00I think we're at 67.
22:02We're going to go up to 79 today.
22:04A lot of above average temperatures already 76 in Dallas, 74 in Houston.
22:09Look at that 80s and 90s on the map.
22:11Close to 100 degrees for Dallas, 95.
22:14Louisville, 90.
22:1582 in D.C.
22:16So two thirds of the country really enjoying above average temperatures for mid-September.
22:21Now, showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for parts of the Rockies, Gulf Coast, and the Mid-Atlantic.
22:26We'll talk about that in just a second.
22:28We are watching this area in the Atlantic that could develop over the next few days.
22:32Get the name Gabrielle.
22:33Will it impact us?
22:36We'll have to see.
22:37But we have a lot of time to watch this.
22:38So we'll continue to keep you up to date.
22:40And then we also have this coastal low that's going to bring some heavy rain over parts of the Mid-Atlantic.
22:45All right.
22:45Foxweather.com for all of your latest details.
22:47I've got nature's wind machine like I'm in a video, Brian Kilmeade.
22:52Right.
22:52For a moment, she felt like J-Lo in the studio.
22:56I can't sing like her, though.
22:58Okay.
22:59I'm sorry.
22:59We'll find out.
23:00Janice, thank you.
23:01Meanwhile, a New Jersey nurse filing a lawsuit after she was suspended from her job after calling out a doctor who allegedly said Charlie Kirk deserved to die.
23:09The hospital saying, quote, both the doctor and the nurse were placed on suspension to allow time for a thorough and fair investigation following our standard protocol.
23:17And in the interest of everyone's safety, including their own, contrary to certain media reports, the nurse was not fired.
23:24That nurse, Lexi Kunsel, along with her attorney, John Paul Deal, joins us now.
23:30Lexi, thanks so much.
23:31I'll get you in a second, John.
23:34But, Lexi, are you fired?
23:36No, I'm not fired as of right now.
23:38Right now, I am suspended, indefinitely, unpaid.
23:43Why?
23:45So, I walked into the nurse's station, and I just had learned about Charlie Kirk.
23:51I saw this guy.
23:53I didn't know who he was at the time.
23:55And he was standing there celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk, saying how he deserved it.
24:01He hated Charlie Kirk, and he had it coming to him.
24:04So, you love Charlie Kirk.
24:06You didn't just want to wear him.
24:07I loved him, yeah.
24:08Yeah, I'm a big fan of Charlie Kirk.
24:10My first retweet in 2018 by, it was like my first blue checkmark retweet was Charlie Kirk.
24:18I was a couple years out of college and loved him ever since.
24:22You're aghast at this.
24:23What did you say?
24:24So, I looked down at his badge because I didn't know, you know, what job, if he was a doctor or a nurse.
24:33Never saw him before.
24:34I looked down, I see his badge, and it says doctor.
24:37And I said, you're a doctor?
24:38I said, how are you saying this as a doctor, that someone deserved to die?
24:44I mean, to me, I was just mind blown.
24:48And, yeah.
24:50And everything went silent.
24:51You go to your manager.
24:53Your manager was understanding but told you to go home.
24:55Yeah.
24:55Then you posted something online, and then you find out you're suspended.
24:59I want to bring in your lawyer now.
25:02And, John, could you tell me how we find out her true status, and how do we make sure she gets her job back?
25:10Yeah.
25:11So, look, there are laws under various states, including New Jersey, where people like Lexi, nurses, healthcare professionals, can push back against conduct that implicates patient safety and welfare.
25:25And so, Lexi's filed a lawsuit, and I'll be happy to be representing her in that lawsuit, essentially saying, look, this doctor took a Hippocratic oath.
25:37He's under ethical standards to do no harm.
25:41And instead, what he said is, I hate Charlie Kirk.
25:44He had it coming, and he deserved it.
25:47Now, that calls into question patient care and patient safety.
25:51If somebody else, let's say Charlie Kirk himself, let's say somebody with his views, somebody who was a supporter, came in to that surgeon's emergency room or operating room, would that doctor say, well, I'm not going to treat him.
26:07He deserved it.
26:08Right.
26:08That's the implication.
26:10So, you posted online on Instagram.
26:12This doctor is a disgrace.
26:13He had the audacity to say, I'm glad he deserved it in front of a patient nursing station in regards to Charlie Kirk being murdered today.
26:20You are on the wrong side with the world, and you want to make sure, number one, do you want your job back?
26:26Yeah.
26:26I mean, I've been waiting to hear from them.
26:31I'm ready to come back to work if they want me to come back to work.
26:34And if they let you go, you're suing.
26:36Yep.
26:37Absolutely.
26:38Absolutely.
26:39Lexi, thanks so much for telling your story.
26:41We're going to stay on top of it.
26:42And hopefully you get to go back, and this doctor understands what he said was wrong.
26:46Yeah.
26:47Appreciate it.
26:47Meanwhile, straight ahead, Pope Leo opening up about his identity as the first American pope.
26:52We'll talk about that impact.
26:56It has given me, I think, a real appreciation for the wonderful wealth of traditions and cultures and languages that make up the world and, of course, the church.
27:09And I very much feel that I'm an American, but I also love very much Peru, the Peru people.
27:22And so that is a part of who I am.
27:25Half of my ministerial life has spent in Peru.
27:27So the Latin American perspective is very valuable to me.
27:32In his first formal interview since becoming the pontiff, Pope Leo is opening up on his own background as history's first U.S.-born pope and the first to hold Peruvian citizenship.
27:45Fox News contributor Howie Kurtz joins us now to talk about it.
27:48Good morning to you, Howie.
27:49Good morning.
27:50Good morning.
27:50Yesterday was his 70th birthday.
27:52A lot of people had banners there at the Vatican to celebrate his birthday.
27:57What did you get out of watching that interview or clips of that interview?
28:00Hey, I'm still getting used to the idea that the leader of the Catholic Church grew up eating hot dogs at Chicago White Sox games.
28:07Right.
28:07So he is very media savvy.
28:09Look, what other pope would criticize Elon Musk, who's about to become the world's first trillionaire, thanks to an eye-popping Tesla pay package,
28:18and then spin that into criticism of the average CEO making 600 times more than the average worker.
28:26That firmly plants Pope Leo on the liberal side of the spectrum.
28:31And he clearly knew what he wanted to say.
28:37And maybe he's trolling for more clicks.
28:39I don't know.
28:40You bring up Elon Musk.
28:41A lot of people are going to click on that.
28:42There was a cute moment when she asked, the reporter asked him, if Peru played America in the World Cup, who would you pull for?
28:51Watch this.
28:53I'm probably Peru, just because of affective bonds, if you will.
28:58I'm also a big fan of Italy.
28:59In the World Cup level, I recall the three teams generally, you mentioned two, and Italy would be the third one.
29:05You know, people know I'm a White Sox fan.
29:07And I sort of said, well, Robert Freebrose was a White Sox fan, but it's fault I'm a fan of all the teams.
29:15Howie, what was your reaction?
29:17That was a diplomatic answer.
29:20He knows what to say and what not to say.
29:22Look, he says he has no hesitation at all about being the spiritual leader of 1.4 billion Catholics,
29:32but that he feels like he's been thrust into the role of a world leader.
29:36And he showed, I thought, great vulnerability.
29:38He said this was a huge learning curve for him, that he's not going to get in the business of, say, mediating between Russia and Ukraine.
29:45And he also said, I'm learning a lot, but I'm not overwhelmed.
29:48I'm just feeling challenged.
29:50And that's the kind of candor, I think, that people respond to.
29:54Yeah.
29:54He said it's like jumping into the deep end of the pool very quickly when he talked about the huge learning curve.
29:59Yesterday, Howie, it was a sad day for many of us because you said goodbye.
30:04It was your last day for Media Buzz after 12 years.
30:07And you've done, when people watch your show, you cover both sides.
30:12You cover the liberal side as well as the conservative side.
30:15How are you feeling today?
30:17I'm feeling great because after the last show, I have just been deluged with hundreds and hundreds of messages.
30:24People say they like the show, they like the idea of fairness, which can tick off both sides, to be fair.
30:30They like what I did.
30:32One young staffer wrote that she went into journalism because of me, which also shows that I've been around a long time.
30:39So, you know, wistful, a little bit of mixed feelings.
30:42But I've really been just amazed at how many people, some of whom I haven't heard from in 20 years, got in touch with.
30:50Congratulations.
30:51Oh, that's so nice.
30:52So what's next for you, Howie?
30:54Well, doing shows like this, maybe you'll have me back if I pass the audition.
30:58And I'll be a political and media analyst.
31:02I've still got my Media Buzzmeter podcast.
31:04I'll write columns.
31:05I'm going to keep busy.
31:07You'll get tired of me in a while.
31:08Well, you've had a great run and we wish you all the best.
31:11God bless you.
31:13Thank you, Howie.
31:15All right, Carly, take it away.
31:16All right.
31:17We've got some more news to get to.
31:18U.S. fighter jets have arrived in Puerto Rico as the U.S. continues to increase its military presence in the Caribbean.
31:24It comes as the president weighs the next steps for the region.
31:28Do you think we will go through strikes on mainland Venezuela?
31:34Oh, we'll see what happens.
31:35Look, Venezuela is sending us their gang members, their drug dealers and drugs.
31:40It's not acceptable.
31:41The president's comments come after the U.S. carried out a strike on suspected narco-terrorists coming from Venezuela earlier this month.
31:49SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket launching an upgraded space freighter over the weekend.
31:54The unmanned craft is expected to arrive at the International Space Station on Wednesday.
31:59It's bringing more than five tons of spare parts, research material and crew supplies, as well as treats for any of the upcoming holidays as astronauts continue to work up there.
32:10And take a look at this crazy footage out of the Phoenix area after a water main broke, creating a massive geyser shooting out water in the middle of a busy street.
32:21Officials say the break was caused when a line connected to a fire hydrant burst.
32:26The road will remain closed until repairs can be made.
32:30But thankfully, none of the homes nearby were affected.
32:32Look at that.
32:33That's so big.
32:34Those are your headlines.
32:35Ainsley, back over to you.
32:36That is massive.
32:37Yes.
32:38It would be fun if you're a child, though.
32:39It would be really cool to see.
32:41You could run through it.
32:41Yes, it would.
32:42But for the people who live there and work there, not fun at all.
32:45Yeah, I agree.
32:46All right.
32:46Thank you so much, Carly.
32:47All right.
32:48New details on the man accused of killing Charlie Kirk, including dark details about his activity in an online chat room.
32:55FBI Director Cash Patel is here.
32:58It's Monday.
32:59It's September 15th.
33:00And this is Fox and Friends.
33:02Federal charges could be coming for the suspect accused of killing Charlie Kirk as he's set to make his first appearance in court tomorrow.
33:09FBI Director Cash Patel is joining us this hour with the latest on the investigation.
33:14And Utah's governor is issuing a dire warning about social media and political violence.
33:22The social media has played a direct role in every single assassination and assassination attempt that we have seen over the last five, six years.
33:31So on this Medical Monday, Dr. Mark Siegel has some tips to keep your kids safe online.
33:38Plus, President Trump's crime crackdown is heading south.
33:42We're going to Memphis.
33:44I'm just announcing that now and we'll straighten that out.
33:46National Guard.
33:47National Guard and anybody else we need.
33:49And by the way, we'll bring in the military, too, if we need it.
33:52But National Guard.
33:53Yep, we're going to tell you how the mayor is responding to all that because Fox and Friends starts right now.
33:57Fox News Alert.
34:01We're learning chilling new details about Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin and what he did immediately following the shooting.
34:09It comes as officials reveal the suspect is refusing to cooperate with the authorities.
34:14So Garrett Tenney is joining us live outside the Utah County Jail where he's on the inside.
34:21Hey, Garrett.
34:21Hey, good morning, y'all.
34:24Officials here at the Utah County Jail tell us that Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin is being held in a separate unit and is under special watch to make sure he doesn't hurt himself or others ahead of his first court appearance tomorrow.
34:36And as you mentioned, he is not cooperating with the investigation.
34:40But Utah Governor Spencer Cox says other people close to the suspect are cooperating.
34:46He has not confessed to authorities.
34:49He is he is he is he is cooperating.
34:52But but but all the people around him are cooperating.
34:55And I think that's that's that's very important.
34:57His roommate was indeed a boyfriend who is transitioning from from male to female.
35:04He is cooperating with with authorities as well.
35:08This new surveillance video obtained by TMZ shows the suspected assassin walking to UVU's campus the morning of the shooting about four hours beforehand, wearing a maroon shirt and light colored shorts that we know he later changed out of before returning to campus in the dark clothes.
35:25As he was wearing in the surveillance pictures, the FBI released the New York Times reports that after those images went out, an acquaintance of the suspect tagged him in an online group chat and joked about the striking similarity.
35:37The suspect allegedly replied that his doppelganger was trying to, quote, get me in trouble.
35:43And then when another person joked the group could turn him in for the reward, the suspect allegedly responded, only if I get a cut, the suspect will be appearing virtually for his first court appearance tomorrow.
35:55And officials tell us we will learn a lot more about the investigation when charges are formally filed ahead of that court hearing back to our cameras allowed in the courtroom.
36:08It will be a virtual hearing, and that's going to be streamed so that we can all watch it on live over that live stream.
36:14But the suspect will be here.
36:15He will appear virtually while it is happening at a courthouse just over across the county.
36:20OK, thanks, it's good.
36:22Well, I want to interview all the 20 in that chat room since they are joking after the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
36:30I also want to know what they were saying before.
36:32Now, he thinks he the assassin thinks he can have some leverage.
36:36He doesn't want to talk right now because he knows that the death penalty is on the table and he wants that taken off to get life in prison.
36:43But there's not much leverage he has at all.
36:45But we've already seen the assassination to the gruesome details and the why and all of that.
36:51We're learning from the chat room and the video that circulated all over the world, learning some from the family.
36:56That's right.
36:57Of his roommate and his lover.
36:59And that family is saying that their loved one hates Christians, hates conservatives and hated the family and hated Charlie Kirk.
37:09Correct. Yeah. So the feds also have widened their investigation into the assassination.
37:14They want to whether they want to probe whether pro trends online groups and others connected to Robinson new in advance, as you said, Lawrence, about this and who else he was talking to.
37:24I'm also wondering, too, if the family's going to be talking.
37:27Why is he living 10 minutes away?
37:29Why did he, in fact, drop out of college?
37:30Why did he do from the scholarly kid to an electrician to a job he no longer had?
37:35Who's paying for that?
37:36Who's paying for that?
37:37And why was there a fracture with the family?
37:40They said he rarely showed up.
37:41A couple of things from people that work with him.
37:43One said he was unbelievably quiet.
37:45He walked around with his fist clenched.
37:47And they said that when they brought up politics, the one time they remember, he actually went to the laundry room because most of people were talking and they were saying conservatives.
37:55They were talking in a conservative way, supporting of, I imagine, Trump.
37:59The other thing they said is he would only engage with us if we talked about trucks and guns.
38:04So we talked about guns.
38:05He was bragging how he could hit a 400-foot shot.
38:09He obviously could.
38:11I'm very curious.
38:12And you guys tell me if you've heard this.
38:14They talked about having to go pick up the gun at a drop point.
38:18Who bought the gun at a drop point?
38:20This guy now, for me, who didn't grow up with guns, didn't buy guns, I think I'm going to go to a gun shop and say, show me guns.
38:26This guy knew guns.
38:27He was shooting.
38:28There's pictures of him holding a gun.
38:29He looks like he's 10 years old.
38:30So he doesn't need someone to drop a gun off at a drop point.
38:34He could go in there.
38:35He's got no criminal record.
38:36How do we know he didn't?
38:38It wasn't his gun and he had just put it in the bushes.
38:41Yeah, I think the text message that you're referring to, Brian, I think is after the fact, after he had dropped the gun and was trying to get it retrieved again.
38:51But again, there's some back and forth on that part of the investigation.
38:55Hopefully, Cash Patel, who's going to be joining us live at 730.
38:59We're not going to try to compromise this.
39:00We're not going to try to compromise this.
