00:21:33You know, with all your experience in the ring and being a long-term analyst,
00:21:38when you size up a matchup like this, both the body types, the skill,
00:21:43the styles of the competitors as technicians,
00:21:46what does your eye go to right away?
00:21:47I mean, technically speaking, these are two of the most well-rounded superstars
00:21:50on the roster, male or female.
00:21:52Both have incredible backgrounds in multiple martial arts.
00:21:55They've both essentially grown up in the wrestling business.
00:21:59And here they are at the pinnacle, ready to collide with essentially a mirror image of one another.
00:22:03This is a very, very exciting matchup.
00:22:05You know, I'm glad you bring up the subject of you grow up in the business
00:22:08because you can see it with that.
00:22:10The skill, the fluidity, how everything is in sync and in motion.
00:22:15You get those 10,000 hours, those Gladwellian 10,000 hours, and it goes, doesn't it?

00:23:32No doubt in my mind, a lot of gold in the future of Roxanne Perez.
00:23:36And the same has to be said for Raquel Rodriguez, who's had glimpses of greatness.
00:23:40She's had some great success in the Women's Tag Team division.
00:23:43These are two very, very dangerous women who may become the foundation of the Women's division
00:23:47as time goes on.
00:24:18Now there is the prodigy, Roxanne Perez.
00:24:31And, of course, she was ringside a week ago right here on Raw
00:24:35when Raquel Rodriguez defeated Lyra Valkyria.
00:24:38Lyra Valkyria fought valiantly and overcame momentarily the interference of Perez.
00:24:44But when you're dealing with the Judgment Day, you have to prepare for the entirety of the group.
00:24:49Valkyria would do her best to remove Rox from the equation.
00:24:53But as Lyra made the climb toward the top, the powerhouse of the Judgment Day.
00:24:57Rox, I'm sorry, Raquel Rodriguez delivered a Tejana bomb that nearly put Lyra through the center of the ring.
00:25:04So that was a week ago when we were in Milwaukee.
00:25:11Now here in Springfield, Mass, as she goes up against Roxanne.
00:25:16Corey, prior to what we saw there at the conclusion of that match there in Milwaukee,
00:25:22there was a consistent and steady beating to the lower back of Lyra Valkyria.
00:25:27And we've noticed from the time Lyra made her entrance, she's favoring her lower back,
00:25:31definitely still feeling the effects of the entire beatdown throughout the duration of the matchup,
00:25:36particularly the Tejana bomb that served as the exclamation point for Rodriguez.
00:25:41And look at this, two world-class grapplers, collar and elbow tie-up, pinning one another.
00:25:46Fantastic technical expertise on display in the early moments.
00:25:49That was the first thing you said to me when we talked about this matchup here,
00:25:52getting ready for Monday Night Raw.
00:25:54What a technical matchup this is, as you see the young forces right against the face,
00:26:00showing disrespect is Roxanne.
00:26:03But the back situation a week ago when she really slowly slams her down to the mat,
00:26:08it's not just that she has to watch out defensively and worry about hurting the back,
00:26:12but the limitations it can have to your own offense.
00:26:15Absolutely.
00:26:15Anytime you suffer damage to your shoulder, whether it be your rib cage or your lower back,
00:26:19it's going to affect your offensive delivery as well.
00:26:22Your ability to strike, your ability to absorb punishment.
00:26:25Oh, pinning combination from Roxanne.
00:26:28Tremendous technical ability from the prodigy who has earned the nickname.
00:26:34No, we were just talking about it, and you did see a moment ago as Lyra was reaching for her back.
00:26:40Baseball slides, and now the roll-up and a pinning combination and an arching bridge from Lyra.
00:26:45A little game of showmanship between both of these women, flexing their abilities,
00:26:51but that might have been to the detriment of Valkyria.
00:26:54Her lower back, only two minutes in or so, already looks to be a factor,
00:26:59and a great decision by Roxanne to just bury a knee to the body.

00:27:22And you had to expect that when you're dealing with someone like Roxanne Perez,
00:27:25a student of the game, someone who studies her opponents night after night,
00:27:29but great leg sweep on Valkyria, and a dropkick on the money.
00:27:33But there's a good example in the cross body.
00:27:35Even before that, as she hooks the leg, looking to put her away,
00:27:37she's wincing and reaching for her back in the midst of an offensive series of attacks.
00:27:42And when you're a competitor like Lyra Valkyria, who likes to rely on her speed advantage,
00:27:47an injury to the lower back, neutralize that, and Raquel, she got caught red-handed.
00:27:52Raquel Rodriguez just tripped her up, and she's out of here.
00:27:56Raquel is ejected.
00:27:58She tripped her up when she was running the ropes right there.
00:28:01Meanwhile, a roll-up in the ring.
00:28:03Roxanne's got a roll-up, but the referee was distracted.
00:28:07And it's just a count of two.
00:28:09The distraction of Rodriguez may have backfired in that instance.
00:28:14Perez executed the roll-up.
00:28:15Jessica Carr was still busy paying attention to Raquel.
00:28:19Raquel Rodriguez thought she was helping out Roxanne Perez.
00:28:23She actually tossed her right there.

00:29:32Roxanne ripping up Lyra Valperia, and it has turned this match greatly in favor of Perez.
00:29:38It's a testament to the skill level of Roxanne Perez, who is now targeting the back specifically.
00:29:43This is an agonizing situation for Valkyria, but one tiny opening is all you need to give Roxanne,
00:29:50and she will capitalize. Cover here by Perez.

00:29:58Now this is going to allow Roxanne to settle into a bit of a slower pace,
00:30:02utilize her technical abilities, and pick apart the lower back of an injured Lyra Valperia.

00:30:13It's always impressive to me how calm in the heat of battle Roxanne Perez has the ability to remain.
00:30:23Particularly for such a young superstar. There's still so much for her to accomplish in this game,
00:30:28but she's already accomplished so much for such a young age.
00:30:31And does that speak to what you said earlier about when you gain that much experience as a teenager training at this level?
00:30:39Again, I mean, time and again, just putting a bullseye on that back.
00:30:43Absolutely. I mean, you can take it all the way back to her day's training under Hall of Famer Booker T.
00:30:48Booker T is one of the best teachers in the game, and Roxanne is his star pupil.
00:30:52He will tell you that proudly.
00:30:53Look at this. Double jump. Boots off across the back of Lyra.
00:30:57Lands it well. And look at that smile as she hooks the leg and goes into the cover.
00:31:01But able to kick out and get that left shoulder up is Lyra.
00:31:04And a smile like that from your opponent can really dishearten a competitor.
00:31:10If you're Lyra Valkyria and you look up and see Roxanne grinning from ear to ear like a Cheshire cat,
00:31:15it can do more internal damage, more psychological damage than any sort of offense.

00:33:02Lyra was attempting to string together some offense, two or three moves in sequence,
00:33:05but her back just would not hold up.
00:33:08Remember, it was a week ago when Raquel Rodriguez of Judgment Day did so much damage to the back,
00:33:14and still all the lingering pain and the offensive attack from Perez is now showing up,
00:33:19and it's making even more of an impact.
00:33:20And what a cagey maneuver by the prodigy Roxanne Perez, rolling underneath the bottom rope,
00:33:25just preventing Lyra from executing whatever she was planning on the ropes.
00:33:28Now Roxanne, seesaw battle, and now repeated strikes to the lower back of Lyra.
00:33:37Yeah, she's trying to regain the more advantageous position
00:33:40as both these feisty competitors are up on the ropes.
00:33:46Extremely dangerous position for both women.
