00:01Police emergency.
00:03Every night in Britain.
00:05Okay, we'll get police making to you as a grade one emergency.
00:08Officers of the law.
00:10Yeah, that's noted, we're just round the corner.
00:12Clock on.
00:13You'll have to go to the clock one night.
00:15Unlock the door! Unlock the door now!
00:17To keep the peace.
00:20And protect us.
00:21Sorry!
00:22I need to get you home safe.
00:23While we sleep.
00:25Police are sensation! Stay with me now!
00:27You're under arrest for a possession of bloating articles.
00:30I love the night shift, it's my favourite shift.
00:32I'm not having now!
00:33Oi!
00:34Sometimes it can just go mental for no reason.
00:36I'm dying!
00:37Can you get a sack of caps on here and move, move, move!
00:39Hey, hey, hey!
00:41Down on the ground!
00:42We filmed with Gloucestershire Constable.
00:45Is Gloucestershire on a taser?
00:47Show me your hands now!
00:48Following their 999 response team.
00:51Gloucester Tanger 5-9, Gloucester Tanger 5-9.
00:54Police! Move on!
00:55Stay where you are!
00:56Stay where you are!
00:57And specialist units.
00:58What's the time go to?
00:59There's more fighting going on.
01:00I'm winning!
01:01Can we have an ambulance, you think?
01:04To show the highs.
01:06Snakes.
01:07Shall we go?
01:08Yeah, let's go.
01:09And the lows.
01:10Got any weapons on you or anything like that?
01:11Weapons?
01:12It's got to be Willy.
01:13I'm so sorry, my darling.
01:15Not darling.
01:16Of the night shift.
01:17I love working nights.
01:19It's when you get the chance to catch that old-fashioned career criminal.
01:22I thrive on that because I join the place to lock criminals up.
01:25That escalated better than that.
01:26That sky looks amazing.
01:27Yeah.
01:28I'll just ping-pong Will.
01:29Hi mate.
01:30We are on my way back.
01:31The sunset is not the only thing on PC Johnston and Cahill's mines.
01:32Food is in there too.
01:33It's at dinner time and if we don't grab it we'll replace the sunset where we're going to
01:36swim.
01:37We're all off as well.
01:38The sunset is not the only thing on PC Johnston and Cahill's mines.
01:40I
01:42Sky looks amazing
01:47I'll just think but we'll hi mate. We are on my way back
01:53The sunset is not the only thing on PC Johnston and Cahill's mines food is in there, too
02:01Set dinner time if we don't grab it. We'll get caught another job. I'm thinking
02:04It's just me please
02:10I think in the night shift you tend to deal more with live jobs and
02:14Where the danger is now. It's a lot more fun and exciting dynamic. I love it. It's my favorite shift
02:20Okay, make sure you're not causing any chaos in the chip shop because I don't want a job there
02:25Are they then I picking it up? Yeah, I think it's just Will. Oh, bless him. I
02:30Love the kind of group aspect of a shift. I never grew up wanted to be a police officer
02:35I had never spoke to one until I actually joined the job
02:37But I've made some really good friends on my shift, and I always want to go into work actually
02:42Oh, we've time as well
02:45The man with his fish and chips
02:50Police emergency
02:52The fish and chips is gonna have to be kept warm. Yeah, quite a lot of screaming and shouting being heard
02:59Grade one nine nine nine call has come through the most urgent of them all
03:03Yeah, probably touchy zero. That's a receipt. Thank you. We'll accept you now tell to tell three one
03:08Are you iris?
03:12a
03:17Man who is well known to the police as a repeat offender with a record for assault is attacking a woman
03:24He could be carnage
03:27We know the people at this next job
03:31Possible one of them is quite violent
03:34The names immediately rang about with me and we knew there was some danger there. There's a real risk here
03:39We're going to go down them. No tracking
03:45I'm not probably around the house
03:49They've got to come through on
03:51For the officers rushing to the scene of the attack the flow of information is both distressing and worrying
03:58So the call we've had is a male that we are aware of is kicked the door down
04:03And it's dragging around the female within the address
04:09I
04:10Think that you could just drag somebody on the floor and not at all have any
04:15Care about how they're feeling emotionally
04:17And in terms of pain as well to pull somebody's full body weight by their hair
04:25It does make me feel sick
04:29PCK Hill also now knows the attacker has an outstanding arrest warrant linked to him and is banned from going anywhere near the woman
04:36We just know that he's not allowed to be there
04:40He's a wanted man. He's got a live cat be one
04:43Which means we can arrest him?
04:46immediately
04:50That's received you have got a ban on rates back up
04:54With such a violent attack still in progress all available members of the night shift are now heading for the scene
05:01Backed up by specialist firearms officers with tasers
05:08Got all
05:10Special operations heading that way at the moment. This is it's played up there last time
05:16It was absolutely horrendous assault from what we were told on the radio a
05:21A lot of the firearms guys had dealt with this chap previously, so they they all knew what a nasty piece of work. He was
05:35The man has stopped attacking the woman and run off
05:37It's now the night cops job to find him
05:45Is he probably running this way?
05:48Possibly doubt yourself three almost take six in the area
05:58That's a three-on gone
06:00Okay
06:04All right, they're asking us go to the victim's address then what is anyone been yet?
06:08Making sure the woman is all right is as big a priority is catching her attacker
06:13She may be seriously hurt and in need of an ambulance
06:17But it means PC's Johnston and Cahill must split up that's that's a three-one
06:23The more experienced Johnston will take care of the victim while PC Cahill goes after the man
06:29I've been working a lot of PC Cahill recently and we get on well
06:33We both have often a sort of similar view on jobs. I don't have to tell him
06:38What's expected or what I'm asking him to do he's already on it
06:50Is he going over the fence is it?
06:52Yeah, I really like crewing with PC Johnston. He's been in quite a lot longer than me and so you can learn a lot when I get to a job
07:04I feel seriously comfortable making any kind of decision that is supported by him
07:10PC Cahill's decision-making is now totally focused on finding the violent man
07:15It's clear the attack has gone to ground
07:19We didn't really know where he was so we were aware that he was in the area and
07:23He had jumped over initial fence
07:26And I think what the special operations
07:29Units kind of managed to do was cover all four
07:34Exit points that he could have gone to
07:36P.C. Johnston has found the woman who was attacked and given her first aid
07:47She's now on her way to the hospital with serious head injuries and suspected broken ribs
07:53I think there was three roads that sort of hit the cops
07:55Don't be careful of yourself
08:01Meanwhile the night shift team have cordoned off the area around where the attack took place
08:07They are sure they have the man contained somewhere in the myriad of gardens and sheds
08:12There's been garden hopping
08:14That is the last scene definitely coming down this way
08:17So we're trying to keep the gardens covered to sleep
08:20I think there was three roads that sort of backed onto each other in a bit of a triangle where all the gardens met up and
08:26He was just there skipping over all the fences
08:29At this time of night the best way of finding where he is is by keeping quiet and listening
08:50In Gloucestershire the wanted man who brutally attacked a woman in a house is still on the run
09:10Pursued by officers from the night shift and others armed with tasers
09:16You can hear him can you?
09:18They are trying to locate him by using every one of their senses
09:22You can hear him by using every one of his senses
09:24It is going down here
09:26I don't know
09:28It is going to be a glitch
09:30It is going to be a mistake
09:32Is there anyone with a taser going down here?
09:34Um
09:36There is anyone with a taser going down here
09:38I do not know
09:40The scene of the crime shows just how violent the man has been and how serious the assault
09:57was.
09:58He's been quite badly assaulted, pain to the ribs, and been stamped on the head possibly.
10:04He's entered the address through a window, so he smashed that, which is all over the
10:08kitchen floor.
10:10One of the blokes in there has run upstairs in fear and has barricaded himself here.
10:15He's obviously thinking that somebody's in the house with her, sprints upstairs, and he's
10:19kicked a hole through the door.
10:23So we've got a lot of criminal damage, because obviously he doesn't own the address.
10:26And then we've got the assaults, so quite a lot of offenses.
10:30PC Cahill and his fellow officers are now having to search every garden and every outbuilding
10:35one by one.
10:38If the offender has not broken through the cordon, he must be here somewhere.
10:43Look at that.
10:44Is that shed door open?
10:45It does kind of look open, doesn't it?
10:48The problem is they know he's dangerous and desperate, and he could still be armed with
10:53the baton he used to break into the house.
10:57There's a shed here.
10:59It's open.
11:00Do you want to lift up?
11:04At night, obviously risks are higher, generally.
11:07Just being able to see and use your eyes.
11:09You can't see as far, you can't see as well, you can't see as clearly.
11:14People find it easier to hide or to try and escape and get away.
11:19So you sort of have these different sort of challenges to you in terms of your senses.
11:22It's supposed to be this one.
11:24It's supposed to be this one.
11:26It's supposed to be this one.
11:30It's supposed to be this one.
11:31You do it over there.
11:32You do it over there.
11:33You do it over there.
11:34You do it over there.
11:35Do you hear this over there?
11:36Yeah it's over there.
11:37Yeah it's over there.
11:38Fuck.
11:39it's now clear that waiting for the man to make a noise isn't going to work time to call in the dog
11:48nika the german shepherd and her handler pc shields
11:53he's been jumping diving flying around these gardens and these fences
12:03pc cahill and his team call search dogs like nika land sharks because of their bite
12:10but no we've got no actual kind of location as to where it is
12:13it's rare for a suspect to get away once she's on the scene
12:20it doesn't take long for nika to let everyone know the man's concealed himself
12:27in a garden summer house one that has already been searched
12:31all right step out mate
12:35come on come on
12:37get back everyone just come on come on she will bite you
12:41nika won't be allowed off the leash unless the man ignores the officers with the tasers
12:47come on come on come on come on lay on the floor lay on the floor
13:01we gave himself that i think the firearms shouted at him a couple of times to get him to
13:16recognize that there was a lot of others and that he was in a trouble he was arrested
13:20i think we were able to narrow the the circle enough that the dog could go in with a good idea of
13:31where he was and pick up the scent once they get a sort of a narrow uh location on you then um you're in
13:39trouble and uh the the land sharks when they come in and find you it's quite intimidating that's for sure
13:45it's not a position i want to be in the wanted man's position is now custodial he will be locked up
13:53until he can appear in court and answer to the outstanding arrest warrant as well as face the new
13:58charges of assault and criminal damage
14:19i'm very pleased with her yeah she found him even though the boys had already searched that garden
14:24she went straight to the shed where he was hiding so i'm really pleased she's a good girl aren't you
14:29good girl good girl
14:40oh she said go get she's a good guy
14:43it's just past midnight and the nighttime economy is in full swing
14:57if you know you're going for a drink you have a couple of pints after work
15:01get attached here get you get your other half to pick you up
15:05there's lots of things i don't like but you know trip driving selfish offence
15:11pc andrews is in gloucester on patrol
15:15just check this car out here when he spots a car go straight through a red light
15:20most tango six free uh following vehicle check
15:29he then notices the car clipping the curb as it turns
15:34nine nine nine activated
15:36i saw this car and just uh he's gone through a red light he's clipped a curb which isn't normal manner of
15:43driving
15:46thank you
15:56hello mate you all right just turn the engine off for a sec yep um i stopped you um because you've gone
16:01through a red light tip the tip the curb as you went over it a young man is in a driving seat
16:07with a female next to him when i stopped him my experience tells me something's not
16:12right um either he's under the influence of something or he's a very inexperienced driver
16:17have you had anything to drink for tonight i have yes okay mate how much um when was the last time
16:21you had a drink um half an hour rule okay okay um is it your car is it okay
16:26how old are you mate uh 20. pc andrews carries out a breath test on the driver
16:34okay all i need to do is take a deep breath long continuous blow until i tell you to stop
16:38keep going keep going keep going stop so legal limits 35 yep and you've blown 32. what i'm going
16:45to do is arresting you in section four of the road traffic act um for being unfit through drink or
16:50drugs um you've gone through a red light and you've clicked that curb yeah you've gone down uh no turning
16:56yeah i believe that you're uh unfit to drive no that's yep okay what's gonna happen when we
17:01go over um where do you live where do you need to go yeah okay yeah you'd have to walk or can you
17:08drive this car can you or have you been drinking as well have you no she can't all right okay yeah so
17:13we'll just leave the car here and you got your keys mate take a seat in the back there mate yeah
17:26even though the man passed the breath test he has shown he was driving carelessly enough to be
17:32arrested whilst he's blown under the limit if i can evidence that his driver was impaired enough
17:38then that's enough for me to arrest him for section four of the road traffic act which is unfit
17:44um rather than being um section five um which is the drink drive offense the other thing i'm required
17:52to do is to do is provide me with a sample of saliva for analysis yeah with suspected drink driving
17:59the police now routinely test for any drugs open your mouth and stick your tongue out
18:05takes eight minutes to work all right yeah what does that tell me to smoke cannabis
18:12two and a half hours of water okay
18:14okay they felt that yeah the rest of the new section 5a the road traffic act as well right
18:24which is drugs all right with a positive drugs test the man's driving career may be curbed prematurely
18:32just wait for a van to arrive and then um take the question we take some blood from you
18:37okay and then uh take from there all right okay no worries yep
18:47he passed a breath test however um showed alcohol in his body so that's why he's been arrested for
18:51that and then subsequently done a drugs wipe on him and he's shown positive testing positive cannabis
18:58there's a culture now where people take drugs and it may be seen as cool if that's your thing you do
19:06your thing but if you're getting behind a wheel then that becomes my business when i come away from
19:11it i do think what a selfish thing to do all right buddy follow my colleague should he crash that car
19:20should he get arrested the massive devastation that has on him um should he get injured or should he
19:25injure somebody that i should have to think yeah i'll book him in mate i'll follow you down
19:40all right buddy
19:44follow me right there around the corner there mate
19:46the man is searched rather than a night with his girlfriend cuddled up in front of the telly
19:56he'll be spending it in a cell uh there's a mattress it is what it is mate um i'll get you a blanket
20:04you want to come tea tea please yeah put coffee uh milk all right mate
20:21he's a pleasant enough lad he's come down visit his girlfriend and whilst he's done so he's had too
20:27much to drink and he's had cannabis and um every price for him to pay he's going to have points on his
20:32license he's going to be banned from driving and the detrimental effect that could have on his life
20:37you know does he need his car to go to work i assume he does um can he support his lifestyle
20:43without having his job will his relationship survive the consequences are massive for him
20:57so this is pistol rani and he is six years old um i've had him since he was about eight months old
21:18it can be hard to uh switch off when you leave work
21:23it's nice having uh you know having arnie as a crew mate it's quite a stress relief
21:32it's sort of like a it's like a welfare dog but a uh quite an aggressive welfare dog
21:41it's the night shift in cheltenham and dog handler pc smith is on patrol with arnie
21:53uh about deployed we go to that oscar that are six free from cheltenham
22:00reports are saying that the drive is made off on foot the officers need to get there urgently
22:05but the accident is outside stroud 21 miles away
22:13this is the type of thing that we do get caught quite regularly especially on a night shift
22:23this time of night people leaving the leaving the pubs and then crashing it's going to be some mayhem when
22:42we get there i would have thought
22:50there was mention that they've tried to steal the car and that they've um they've crashed it
22:56witnesses say the suspected stolen car has crashed and hit their parked car
23:00the car has smashed into at least one other stationary vehicle on a quiet straight road
23:16there was damage done to the offending vehicle and damage done to other vehicles in that street
23:22massive massive okay right where have they run off okay right who was the driver right which way did
23:33you see them run off as the missing driver and occupants are known by people at the scene
23:39the focus now is to get information quickly to trace them oscadel to 63 over there were so many people
23:47around and there was so many different smells of members of the public it was all quite limited on
23:53what we could use arnie for no hurry up the police are here there's dogs and everything mate are you
24:02gonna rip your head off with uk you better while the mother berates her son officer smith goes to check
24:11on the one passenger who didn't make a run for it i mean it's all right are you injured
24:19what are you to do with this car then well it's my car it's your car well it's not my car
24:26no it's just your car my car fell down into it right whose car is it my mate lemmy's car okay
24:33right okay yeah you've had a few drinks you've had a few it was very weird that
24:41people had ran off from the vehicle and the front seat passenger had stayed he was just drunk
24:47who did you let's drive this car okay who was your mate
24:56okay do you know surname i think you do because
25:04okay pc smith now has the name and is a step closer to finding the missing driver
25:12good evening uh are you injured
25:18should we just open up the door should we open up the door here
25:20my face oh i don't know what your faces look like previously
25:24i know but apparently it looks like it was smacked in the face
25:27all right you're not injured anyway you don't look injured are you aching at all
25:31i'm all right but his friend's mum is not impressed
25:37just then officers spot someone coming out of the bushes that might have been involved
25:49just outside stroud pc smith is responding to a hit and run collision
26:06i'm peter right what's your name and officers have just found a man who was trying to leave the
26:12scene tell me your name all right okay all right i suspect that vehicle's been stolen okay
26:21or may have been taken out with the consent of the driver okay so under section one of the police
26:27and criminal evidence i'm going to quickly search you all right he wouldn't give his name to us
26:32so that started raising our suspicions you've got any idea on yourself i haven't no wait what's your name
26:42what's your name what are you stopping for because you're walking away from a vehicle
26:49yes i have because you're walking away from a vehicle that may have been stolen
26:52i'm not you've just walked up here and then you've walked back away from can you um
26:58you've walked from the park yeah correct all right stay still you got you got no jurisdiction to arrest
27:04okay detain you at the moment okay as the man is not giving his name pc smith asks the control room
27:11for help ask control room to send a photo to be ascertaining we got please
27:15i love you man having suspicions the man was not only the driver of the crashed vehicle
27:23but also has been drinking officers ask him to do a breath test will you provide me with a
27:28specimen no comment failure to do a breath test no you take me to the station as a restable offence
27:39it doesn't work like that we're going to request
27:45please take me to your station i'll do a blood test i'm going to ask this once more
27:50will you provide with a specimen of breath yes or no
27:53take me to the station right i'm further arresting you prepare to provide okay
27:57the only thing that stands in court is a test at the station adamant he is within his rights and
28:05still denying his involvement so you're arresting me for taking a walk at 11 o'clock at night after
28:11i'm in a little split yeah because something's happened down here so if people fail to provide
28:17at the roadside you'll still get arrested so it's in your own interest to provide a specimen of breath
28:23because you may get charged with that offence and you'll get a minimum of a 12-month ban
28:30the id check has now come in from control
28:39yeah we've just got a photo of you yeah we've just seen a photo of you
28:45the man who preferred to go incognito has now been identified
28:49he knew he was in the wrong he knew he was the driver and yeah he just wanted to play hard to get
29:01and things are going from bad to worse as news comes through that he is also banned from driving
29:10unfortunately you've been put in a bit of a position haven't you
29:13with the man on his way to custody pc smith is talking to the mother of the man who made off
29:18from the back seat i didn't know who was trying to do that yeah i don't even got a fucking license
29:25i thought i was gonna rip his head yeah thing is they're they're grown up they're they're not kids
29:31just then there is another update from control
29:34good it's quite common where people who don't have insurance will take vehicles with the owner's
29:50consent if they crash them they abandon them um leaving devastation behind and first of all innocent
29:56people to pick up and the man from the back of the car who had fled has now returned
30:02i was in the car okay all right i wasn't driving no okay i was in the car i was driving uh some
30:11kiddie i met at the pub okay you know who it was don't you yeah you know it was i don't know man but
30:17i've never okay all right the man is also not giving anything away just just no what's his first name uh
30:24uh it's like oh no i literally i shouldn't have gone off i didn't know what to do right okay are you
30:34known to the police at all no you've been arrested no okay all right all right perfect all right just
30:39one place one time i think the reason for the second person running was he panicked he was drunk
30:46and it just ran yeah and the thing is you've got into a car with someone you know that's drunk
30:51yeah been a fatal or someone's died recently being a drink driver you know you see in the state that
30:57your mum is in now yeah it's not worth it is it no the man in the passenger seat is now sober enough to
31:05give a statement so who who said that they would drive then
31:11okay just like just sign it yeah just say that's it okay i'll give you a fist bump yeah all right
31:20i'll see you later all right take care the front seat passenger has uh has now given a statement to us
31:26saying who the driver was uh that would coincide with all the details that we've got of the name
31:31driver as well vehicles now being seized if we need to do any sort of forensics on the airbag then we can do
31:41so everyone there was was helpful it could have been quite tricky getting the evidence that we need
31:57but they assisted us in our inquiries so i think he won't be driving again for a while
32:11can i have a drive through minch let's do that turn right whenever you see a road
32:20i can't help you any more than that in mention hampton just outside stroud inspector cruz is on
32:27patrol with sergeant weller i think when i went to the pub in minch the other day there was a guy off the
32:34telly in there then i think he was in the office anyway he was a bit annoying so we were driving
32:43around there was pubs and clubs open but you know it was fairly you know a fairly quiet night it was
32:48fairly calm out there oh it's very nice here yeah minch is lovely oh pull over and as we drove by the
33:00taxi rank um it became apparent that there was a mail on the floor and we got flagged down some by
33:05some members of public asking for assistance all right
33:14no that's all right does anybody know him as if you just found him
33:18it appears the man is alone and unresponsive wake up for me
33:22it was apparent that he wasn't here at all uh he seemed to be in in some kind of um
33:31trance uh it was very very strange behavior
33:35with no knowledge about what has led to the man's condition sergeant weller checks an ambulance is on
33:40its way all right then that's brilliant thank you bye cheers thank you they've got it as a cat too
33:54you wake up for me you can definitely smell the alcohol on him
33:58the first thought is what's going on is this somebody who's tired and fallen asleep is it drink
34:04is it alcohol is it drugs you know what are we dealing with when you've got somebody unresponsive it's
34:09really hard to actually get to the bottom of what that is he's snoring when do you want to wake up
34:15for me he's snoring so we know he's breathing and he's okay course it's fine it's just a matter of
34:22trying to work out who he is where he's from and how we can get him somewhere safe we have got an
34:27ambulance on the way if he ends up falling backwards and banging his head or essentially
34:33falling unconscious and and vomiting and swallowing his you know choking on his vomit there's all those
34:38medical issues that could arise if he's not looked after in that state the man is already in the
34:44recovery position with his airways kept open okay can you wake up for me just then the man's phone rings
34:53hello hello um this is the police
35:04oh perfect ended up speaking to the the young man's father who was in the area looking for him he'd
35:09received a call from his son a few moments earlier uh which seemed remarkable at the time because the
35:15state that this young man was in you wouldn't think he was able to to make a phone call he's out like a
35:19light at the moment and uh we can't seem to wake him up we have got an ambulance on route but um
35:23if you want to come along and uh hopefully you might be able to to get some luck brilliant see
35:28you very shortly thank you bye who was that dad's on his way you can't say what was going on with him
35:37however got a a young man who one moment is speaking to his dad quite coherently on the phone
35:42to the next minute being um fast asleep on the side of the road and being completely unable to
35:47be roused i suggest that there was either quite considerable alcohol intoxication or perhaps
35:52something else is it dad yeah the officers are hoping the man's father may know what could have
36:00caused him to be so unresponsive literally you messaged me about 15 minutes ago to see
36:06those at mcgronald's recreational drugs it's always going to be uh something that happens
36:11now whether recreational drugs were involved in this situation we can't say for sure what you've been
36:17doing me what you've been doing i was about to say the same thing do you know whether he's
36:27taking drugs before a long time ago he did i mean we took years how are you feeling
36:37it appears the father is just as much in the dark about what his son may have drunk or ingested
36:45come on let's get you home even though the ambulance is on its way the boy's father decides
36:52to take him straight home it's probably worth someone sticking with him tonight and just keeping
36:58it close yeah all right well i hope he's all right thank you
37:14he'll wake up with a sore head in the morning did you see how rigid he was oh my god he was literally
37:23like a plank yeah there was something um slightly more than alcohol i think i'll play that
37:35oh bless his dad
37:45yeah we don't know
37:48yeah we had reports of a vehicle being driven anti-socially um the caller was following it and
37:54i think it had contravened a couple of red lights but they were also throwing eggs from the vehicle
38:00rhodes policing officer pc merchant is on patrol in cheltenham
38:04saying that they're throwing eggs well in this weather that's extremely dangerous because
38:09it's going to smear the windscreen and if you've ever had egg on your windscreen you'll know that
38:14you won't be able to see a thing so we'll go and try and intercept the vehicle the advantage
38:19would be in a mark to they chuck an egg at me then um they'll be dealt with very robustly
38:23it could be the easter bunny delivering the wrong sort of egg
38:29mate are you opening your eyes or what
38:31now pc merchant has to try and track down the car starting at its last known location
38:42luckily the caller followed it for a little bit and was able to give us the registration
38:46of the vehicle my last stop was tesco car park so i was thinking if they've run out of eggs they may
38:50need to restock yeah it was parked up in the disabled bay and i waited for the occupants to
39:00come back um who were not disabled
39:03uh yes it is tango 6166 with that vehicle did i make you okay cool what have you been up to tonight
39:18i've heard reports you've been driving a little bit naughty you've got a driver license on you
39:38in cheltenham pc merchant is responding to reports of a car driving antisocially
39:43it was seen going through red lights and with eggs being thrown from it
39:49what's your name he's tracked it down to a supermarket car park
39:56keep your hashtag on for me please just checking your driving license all right
40:04why are your windows down the back why are your windows down the back
40:08the driver has a female passenger but so far there's no sight of any eggs
40:14there's a smell of cannabis coming from the car so i'm gonna do a drugs wipe on him
40:18i don't want to take these back to our home no not yet you have to wait a minute all right
40:25what's the reason what's the reason for pulling that chair because we've had reports you've been
40:29driving anti-socially okay so you've been going through red lights you've been throwing
40:34uh things out of the window at other cars which is why you've been why you've been stopped all right
40:38it appears the man is more concerned about delivering the donuts and why he was stopped
40:56but he's beginning to get more agitated
41:03well you have that's why i've told you haven't i i've explained to you why i stopped you
41:07yeah okay but i don't understand where is this is coming from i literally just come to tesco's
41:12okay that's fine obviously because you've alleged to have committed a road traffic
41:16i haven't no technically um however it does give me the the right to give you a drugs wipe
41:21so i'm gonna give you a drugs life all right
41:22i'm gonna go on then just throw your tongue around your mouth for me
41:39you've done one of these before have you yeah the other day
41:45i'm just waiting for it just waiting for the um thing to get over takes eight minutes
41:53as they wait to find out the results a backup team have arrived
41:59to assist so you've been in cheltenham tonight
42:03no that window was open so i presume you've had other people in there and they've gone
42:13you've got two red lines i might have to do it again
42:16the drugs test is inconclusive pc merchant changes tactics be honest with me and we can sort it out
42:25now right who else was in this car and what were you throwing from it bearing in mind we've got a
42:30witness no one so what your car just randomly throws eggs does it at the exhaust eggs i don't know why
42:38you're making it difficult it's just it's just a simple question i asked you there was clearly
42:42someone in the back of your car because your back window was open okay so clearly there was two
42:47more people in the car you don't want to be open with me and honest then let me deal with it now
42:51then you can have a ticket for it section 59 so you drive anti-social again your car gets seized
42:56okay you could have avoided having a ticket if you just told me what had happened but you don't
43:08want to so you can have the ticket so a marker goes on your vehicle so every time you um hit any cameras
43:18it says that you've been given a section 59 ticket you get another one within two years your car gets
43:24seized so i don't know if he was showing off to his girlfriend or not his girlfriend was telling
43:28him just to be honest with me um i think she was getting annoyed that she was sat in the cold and
43:33just wanted to go home um but he wanted to play a little game and i was more than happy to play that
43:38game with him just need to sign that how long is this thing on there for two years 12 months on you and
43:49the car so if you drive a car antisocially again that car will be seized as well
43:56there's your ticket have a nice evening for someone who isn't really known to the police
44:01his attitude wasn't great um i've treated him with respect he could have just treated me with respect
44:07um his girlfriend was trying to get him to tell us what had happened but he wasn't going to have any
44:11of it he thought he knew best he probably had some mates in the back i mean it was a wind-up window
44:17so someone's wound it down um and i've done him a favor by letting him know it was open really
44:22because uh otherwise you'd have had a very wet seat in the morning
44:47so
44:52you
