00:00This is the curious case of Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of killing conservative
00:06activist Charlie Kirk. The narrative around him is growing more bizarre by the day.
00:12While investigators are yet to piece together a clear motive, the internet and family members
00:18are already shaping their own counter-narratives. We bring you a closer look at the voices coming
00:24to Robinson's defense. Yes, you heard it right, to his defense. Here's case number one, the doppelganger
00:32theory. Just hours after the fatal shooting at Utah Valley University on September 10th,
00:37Robinson logged onto Discord, claiming that his so-called doppelganger had carried out the attack
00:44only to frame him. The New York Times accessed those chats where Robinson and his friends even
00:50joked about claiming the FBI's $100,000 reward for turning him in. Robinson quipped that he would
00:57go along with it, so long as he got a cut. At one point, he even mocked his own situation,
01:05referencing another high-profile shooter arrest at a McDonald's. These messages have already added
01:11a surreal, almost darkly comic layer to a case that is anything but funny.
01:17Case number two, sample this, the romantic angle. Utah's governor, Spencer Cox, has made another
01:24revelation. He confirms that Robinson was in a relationship with his transgender roommate who is
01:30now cooperating fully with the investigators. While police say Robinson has refused to cooperate,
01:36his roommate, described as a transitioning boyfriend, had no knowledge of the shooting.
01:42This angle has led some to question whether Robinson's personal life, identity struggles,
01:48or hidden tensions played any role in what unfolded.
01:52Case number three, the grandmother's defense. From the family, a different tone altogether.
01:58Robinson's grandmother, Debbie Robinson, insists her grandson is incapable of murder. She told reporters
02:06that he was quiet, reserved, and never spoke of politics, despite reports that he had grown
02:12increasingly political in recent years. Coming from a conservative family, his father being a strong
02:18Trump supporter, she says she simply cannot reconcile the Tyler she knew with the image of a gunman accused
02:26of assassinating Charlie Kerr. And here's, last but not least, case number four, the autism claim.
02:35Meanwhile, social media sleuths are painting an entirely different picture. Viral videos of Robinson
02:41receiving a scholarship have sparked speculation that he is on the autism spectrum. Several users online argue
02:49that this behavior, his writings, even his internet obsessions, suggest he was vulnerable, manipulated by
02:57ideological groups into extremism. One viral post even called for left-wing groups to be designated as
03:04terrorist outfits. But it is important to note, authorities have not confirmed yet that Robinson is autistic.
03:12And we at OneIndia cannot independently verify those claims either.
