A lioness creeps up on a grazing giraffe in the savanna before changing her mind and lying back in the sun instead.
Natasha Clare, from Queensland, Australia, filmed the rare encounter while visiting Sasaab, Kenya.
The giraffe, unaware of the danger at first, suddenly notices the predator behind her and startles, causing both animals to dash off with the giraffe seen unharmed at the end of the clip.
The video shows the lioness stalking stealthily before relaxing, leaving viewers amused at the unexpected twist in the classic predator-prey chase.
The clip was shared on Instagram where one user commented: “A lady never attacks from the back.”
