00:00After we made the first movie, it became very apparent that Annabelle was one of the most favorite characters.

00:05It felt like Annabelle wanted to have her own movie.

00:08I remember doing the first test screening for the film and just how much people loved her.

00:14Yeah, there's so much character to it and honestly an incredible creation.

00:17You know, James' handle is Creepy Puppet and I think he's like, that's always been a through line in so many of his films.

00:23Annabelle's basically become the mascot character of this franchise.

00:27She is...

00:27Right. She's the face almost, if you will.

00:29She's the Mickey Mouse of The Con Drain.

00:32The real Annabelle is actually a Raggedy Ann doll.

00:35What we had to do on the first film was, obviously, we couldn't get the rights to Raggedy Ann.

00:40I don't know, any toy company would say, hey, go ahead, go and make a possessed...

00:43Huge missed opportunity there.

00:45So I had to create my own version of Annabelle.
