00:03U.S. and Chinese delegations take their leave Sunday after a day of talks in Madrid, Spain.
00:09It's the fourth time in four months the U.S. and China have met in Europe trying to salvage one of the world's biggest trade relationships amid geopolitical tensions and U.S. tariffs.
00:19As the motorcades depart, it's not clear how far the two sides have progressed.
00:24They have a lot to work through.
00:27Trade ties are strained, a 90-day tariff truce is running out, and in his quest to end the Russia-Ukraine war, U.S. President Donald Trump wants U.S. allies to put their own tariffs on China to pressure it into scrapping imports of Russian oil.
00:43And then there's the matter on U.S. President Donald Trump's mind.
00:47China-owned social media app TikTok, used by roughly 170 million Americans.
00:53The U.S. government's been pushing for the app's Chinese owners to sell its U.S. operations or face a shutdown.
00:59So far, there have been four extensions of the deadline for the sale.
01:03Trump says the app's fate rests with China.
01:06They're negotiating TikTok right now.
01:10We may let it die or we may, I don't know, it depends, up to China.
01:14It doesn't matter too much.
01:15I'd like to do it for the kids that like it.
01:18I mean, selfishly speaking, I did very well on TikTok and I got the youth vote.
01:22I got numbers that nobody's ever even come close to in the Republican Party, nobody.
01:27There's still a second day of talks Monday to sort through these sticky issues.
01:31But experts aren't optimistic.
01:33And with China launching an anti-dumping probe into the U.S. chip industry
01:37and a so-called anti-discrimination probe into U.S. measures towards China's chip industry,
01:42there's a chance trade friction could grow even further.
