00:00Hello and welcome to this South Australian Janesweather update for Monday.
00:04We have a cold front that is moving through, so there is a band of cloud.
00:08It's got some generally patchy light rain underneath it.
00:11The yellow area here is a severe weather warning for damaging wind gusts.
00:15So it's all around that peninsula, all around Adelaide, but not extending any further west.
00:19You can see just how windy it is by the stripes of cloud that are coming down in through here.
00:24That's literally the wind going like this and we're feeling it on the ground.
00:27OK, so from this we're going to get a little bit of wet weather.
00:30Let's watch as we move through the rest of the day.
00:32So Monday the 15th, that's today, here is our band of cloud and our band of rain.
00:37That could deliver a little bit, but generally it's fairly light falls as it comes through,
00:40two to five millimetres for most.
00:42On an angle running in through there, we've got the cooler air in through here by the end of the day.
00:48So today is the warm one with this developing.
00:50That's Monday. Let's have a look at Tuesday.
00:52Moving on through, heading out to the east, moving right through these paths as well.
00:55Nice connection to tropical moisture.
00:58So Monday into Tuesday, that's moving through.
01:00By the end of Tuesday, here is the next high pressure system coming in.
01:03By Wednesday, that high has moved out through here.
01:06So it's Thursday is going to be the next warm day because the high is out to the east.
01:10We are fairly dry during the day on Wednesday.
01:12Into Thursday, northerly winds, temperatures rise, but the next cool change is here by the end of Thursday.
01:19So Thursday is the warm one before a change later.
01:22You'll notice there isn't a lot of wet weather with this one as it comes through, heading into Friday.
01:27There we go.
01:28We're starting to see a bit more wet weather.
01:29So it's a delayed effect, but there's nothing heavy for us here.
01:33I'm going to head further in through here.
01:34We've had a lot of moisture that is passing through Queensland.
01:37It's been building during the week.
01:39It runs into that low pressure and delivers a very large area of light and patchy rain.
01:45Not like the last system we saw.
01:47Widespread, yes, but not much into it.
01:49Now, we're likely to see some of that as we move through here, both in the north and in the south.
01:54This one mainly from stream showers.
01:55So that's Friday.
01:56Let's head into Saturday.
01:57Again, hitting the southeast.
01:59Pretty much finished as far as the northeast is concerned there as that moves through.
02:03So that's a Friday system as it comes in.
02:05We're in southwesterly winds.
02:06That is chilly.
02:07There's Saturday and into Sunday and into next Monday because the next high pressure system stays well back to the west.
02:13So we can have another system cross that southeastern parts, but it's nothing heavy.
02:17It's just cool and showers streaming through.
02:20What is that going to add up to?
02:21In the northeast here, 1 to 5 millimetres.
02:24Unless you get a thunderstorm, you're directly underneath it.
02:26Then, yes, it is a heavier fall.
02:28But heading to the southeast as much as 15 to 25, with all of that adding up through to next Monday.
02:34Inland, 5 to 10 millimetres.
02:36Around Adelaide, 15 to 25.
02:3810 to 15 in through here.
02:40So for Adelaide, what can we expect?
02:42Rain at times that is developing.
02:43That's after our top of 26 during the day.
02:46We've got northerly winds.
02:48Then they turn southwesterly.
02:49They are gusty.
02:50And then they ease off later on as that cold front moves past.
02:54So temperatures tumble as we move through the later part.
02:57Rain at times tomorrow, top of just 16.
02:59So we're pretty much 10 degrees colder as we go through the day.
03:024 millimetres.
03:03And then 7.
03:03Then there's nothing left by Wednesday.
03:05We're about 16.
03:06Temperatures jump up again as our winds go northerly on Thursday.
03:09So back up to the mid-20s.
03:11This one isn't as gusty as the last one.
03:14So, yes, a little pick-up in wind, but not as extreme as what we've seen.
03:18Temperatures to plummet once again.
03:2016, 14, 15, 14.
03:22So we've got a cold outbreak coming at the end of the week.
03:25In terms of wet weather, 3 millimetres, 1 millimetre.
03:28Showers moving through.
03:30They aren't going to add up to much, but you'll certainly know about them being there.
