Shadow Education Secretary Laura Trott said Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s “authority is completely shot” after the resignation of Peter Mandelson as US Ambassador. She accused Labour of defending “the best pal of a convicted paedophile” and said Conservatives will demand answers over how the appointment was made.
