00:00Did you know that the 1970s Hulk TV series is the only adaptation where two different
00:04actors played the character? Bill Bixby as Dr. David Banner, and Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk.
00:08No CGI was used everything was practical, makeup, contact lenses, body paint, and lots of muscle.
00:13Like any production, it had its mistakes, such as the green slippers showing up in some scenes.
00:17Lou Ferrigno was actually a professional bodybuilder and even competed against none
00:21other than Arnold Schwarzenegger in Mr. Olympia. Another interesting detail is that the character's
00:25name was changed from Bruce Banner to David Banner. The series was so successful that it
00:29became a pop culture reference for decades, even though the Hulk only appeared for about
00:3215 minutes per episode. The show had five seasons and 82 episodes, aired between 1978 and 1982.
00:38It all started with two pilot films in 1977. After the series ended, three TV movies were released.
