00:00Comedy Central has quietly pulled a controversial South Park episode from its scheduled rerun,
00:04and sources say it won't return to the network's rotation anytime soon.
00:09The episode which aired last month titled Got a Nut follows Clyde Donovan starting a right-wing
00:14podcast filled with offensive and conspiratorial takes. Jealous of Clyde's success, Cartman launches
00:20his own show and fully transforms into a parody of Charlie Kirk, complete with Kirk's hairstyle
00:25outfit and even Bible verses. Leviticus 317 says it shall be a perpetual statute for your
00:30generations throughout all your dwellings. So you can shut up baby, you just hate American,
00:33you love abortions. Shortly after the episode aired, Kirk reacted with laughter.
00:38I think a lot of it was hilarious towards me. I think a lot of this would go through,
00:42I gotta be honest. Some of it was very funny and I don't think we should have too thick of skin.
00:46On his podcast, he and his team even praised how accurately the show captured Kirk's mannerisms
00:52right down to the water bottle, which usually would be displayed on his desk during campus debates.
00:57He literally starts taking the lid off and before he can get a drink in,
01:00he sets it back down and grabs the mic and shuts down the person he's debating with,
01:04which you do all the time where you're almost gonna take a drink, but then you set it down
01:08to get your point in. But the parody took on a much darker and tragic tone this week,
01:14as reports state Charlie Kirk was tragically killed during a speaking event in Utah.
01:18Authorities have confirmed a suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson,
01:22is in custody and being held without bail, though details on the motives remain under investigation.
01:27President Trump was one of the first to announce Kirk's passing. Meanwhile,
01:31some conservative voices are reportedly pointing fingers back at South Park.
01:34One Turning Point USA staffer wrote,
01:36Comedy has consequences. Charlie was targeted in culture before he was targeted in real life.
01:41And radio host Jesse Kelly reportedly told his listeners,
01:45South Park turned Charlie into a cartoon joke. Now his wife is planning a funeral.
01:49For now, while Comedy Central pulled the episode from its lineup,
01:52it is still available on Paramount+. But what's your take?
