Brazil's former president Bolsonaro sentenced to 27 years for plotting attempted coup

Four out of five Brazilian supreme court judges voted on Thursday to convict the former president of mounting coup to try and stay in power.

00:06for attempting to mount a coup after losing the 2022 election.
00:11Bolsonaro, who denied wrongdoing, was convicted of trying to stay in power

00:36The former president said through his lawyers he would attempt to appeal the conviction, which they called excessive.
