26:24this was wonderful work from hijaz ahmad picking it up on the running stride and direct hit
26:31he's cleaned him up here the bills have fallen off he was running for the single
26:46so the indian innings has come to an end they've equaled their lowest score ever in charge 125
26:53and it's been a first class performance by the pakistan team
26:59it led from the front rather captain wasim akram he was running temperature today but he struck that
27:05off picked up a couple of wickets in his very first over and after that pakistan never looked back
27:11well wasim kept his best for the final look at that delivery beautiful in slanting ball
27:19and finishing the indian innings in style
27:23indian batsmen struggled against the top quality pakistan bowling except for sarov ganguli who made
27:28a 50 from 96 balls rest struggle to come to grips with the variation and speed of the pakistani bowlers
27:35wasim akram leading from the front three wickets for 11 runs one for 31 for shwabak the ball with a lot
27:40of pace two for 31 for azar mahmood and one for 24 for the off spinner arshad khan from his 10 overs
27:47easy target for pakistan they just require 126 runs to win the final and 2.52 runs in over
27:53wasim was simply magnificent two wickets in his first over eight overs three maidens three for 11
28:00what a bowler he has now taken 95 wickets in sharjah and as nyan said he was unplayable well can history
28:06repeat itself remember 1985 when india were dismissed for 125 but won the game by 38 runs that was 14 years
28:14ago is there hope for india can they beat pakistan in a final for the first time well you'll have to

28:32i've been coming here for the last 10 years every shahana tournament has been memorable but
28:41any tournament in which we have played india in the finals i think that's been very interesting
28:45because the atmosphere crowd atmosphere all together is different there's so many celebrities
28:51coming and joining us so it i think playing india in the finals has been the most memorable yes say
28:57it is very special well pakistan need 126 runs to win their 10th title in sharjah and to beat india in
29:03a final for the fifth time india have never beaten pakistan in a final so can india do it shahad afridi is
29:10opening the innings with saith anba who is about to face devagal srinath bowling his first over
29:16there's no run on the board ian chapel has taken a seat in the commentary position
29:24he certainly struck the ball beautifully so far and he's got a boundary to get off the mark

29:35there's a casual air about his batting this was effortlessly struck getting on top of the ball
29:46nicely caressing it beautifully in the gap nice free swing of the stick full face of the bat that
29:54was a brilliant shot

31:20well this is a problem when you bowl at
31:28shot playing players like afridi he'll play a miss a few times
31:33you maybe think you're going to get him out but if you bowl anything in his area that he fancies
31:37he dispatches it very quickly and usually a lot of the time it goes for six this one just falling short i think
31:48you've always got a chance as a bowler but then at the back of your mind you're thinking if i don't
31:54quite bowl it just right it maybe get walloped over the top so there's a plus and a minus when you're
32:00having a go at him there's a just a little bit in the pitch two aggressive fast bowlers running in
32:06show back there and washi makra but the ball didn't move that much
32:19and again he's hit that over the infield this won't go all the way another couple of runs
32:27for saidan but he does play that shot well
32:36he's not quite got hold of it but there's enough bat on it to reach the fence
32:41that's in the air but in the gap as well powerfully struck through the offside while breathing
32:57one of those players you don't want to miss his batty some days it's five minutes but if it lasts an
33:04hour it's quite entertaining he's just so gifted at hand-eye coordination
33:14he doesn't know too much about technique and he doesn't bother too much he's got a basic idea
33:20about it but after that it's if i smack it hard enough
33:26i'll get four or six
33:27and if those little singles come along like that well they're all right i'll take them in between
33:45that's up in the air brassad coming underneath it and he takes it no ball signal by the empire
33:53so agar kar taking a chance with that short delivery
34:00and we'll have to wait and see how much he's overstepped or is that over the shoulder
34:05well i'm pretty sure that uh the batsman knew it was a no ball
34:11that wasn't a fluke saidan knew immediately
34:17so it has yeah so it has to be over the shoulder

34:27yes i think if saidan would have been standing normally that would have been above the shoulder
34:35it's a good start here by these two openers that's more runs on the onside
34:39he should get two with sreenath's arm
34:57down the track and it's up in the air two fielders coming underneath it it's gone miles up in the air
35:04but very well taken in the end by ganguly
35:10so fridi again could not control himself and he's been dismissed once again by kumde
35:17well we were saying that fridi wouldn't be able to resist that's the way he plays it's exciting it's
35:26interesting but that went a long way in the light that's a wonderful catch
35:33that is an absolute corker that's a real steeplejack to catch
35:38he held his nerve and he didn't really look like dropping it to be fair to ganguly
35:4453 for one it's a little glimmer of hope for pakistan for india
35:49ejaz the man who's just come out he made a magnificent hundred in the first game he really
35:53did play well ejaz very powerful man
35:56that's been crossed of course
36:01and that's a nice little wrong on or googly whichever you like to call it
36:05so i didn't read it lovely piece of bowling
36:12again that's beautifully played
36:15what a great shot that is side on while with the wrist
36:18he is such a supreme timer of the ball this man a light flick of the wrist and away it went
36:29here we see another slow ball and i think this is where the inexperience tells
36:35because having bowled him the slow ball before
36:39say that was already waiting for it and very nicely flicked it for four runs
36:47and more runs here this will also be four what a bit of timing that is it didn't even really appear
36:54to hit it and it just raced away so side on while on fire here pakistan racing away from india
37:04well i don't know barry but i feel that in terms of timing there's not much difference between
37:11say then where and brian lara because uh you know just watch it was just a
37:17almost a defensive push and it raced to the boundary i mean
37:22it just puzzles me why say the word does not get more runs
37:27i think he's one of the most talented batsmen i've seen
37:35yes it must be the temperament imran i mean there's just so much talent there the timing and
37:40the placement of that shot was just exquisite ejes he's an entertainer i'd love to watch him bat
37:45inside um he's also playing really well so just a single there to ejes the target just looking easier
37:54and easier 125 not nearly enough they've had it very poorly india apart from ganguly he got 50 and then
38:01really gave it away himself no one else even looked remotely threatening to the pakistanis
38:06there was just no plan barry that was the the worst thing about being them batting
38:13they just seemed to never recover from the shock of losing those two wickets
38:18and uh really it was a very aimless piece of batting after that
38:22out that's the other one again the gurgly side on one trying to flick it away on the onside got the
38:31leading edge and he's out so anal gumbly he really has struck twice he's been for me equal to any of the
38:41quicks in this tournament superb bowling
38:48here you see say then we're closing the face of the bat trying to play it on the onside and
38:53a straight forward court and ball well ball by kumla 65 for two as drinks come out
39:07this will be a race to the boundary i don't think it'll get there batsman will be looking for three
39:25this will be interesting though decide not to go in z not the quickest between the wickets

44:02he must get a lot of credit for it although sharjah is considered to be uh batson's paradise but then
44:09he's bowled so well and so has prasad they both of them together have bowled superb spell superbly for
44:14india that's nicely hit by india that's nicely hit by india through the gap a fantastic shot
44:20so much in line and played so brilliantly 111 for two pakistan
44:27just 15 runs separate them from what would be a tremendous win here
44:32and more runs for ijez here on the onside again lovely timing and that's gone all the way
44:48but very happy we see makram
44:53yes for someone who's been popping pills all night
44:56to get his temperature down he should be very relieved and happy
45:02i'm afraid ravi the indian team just did not play to any sort of plan after losing those two early
45:15wickets and i get the feeling that uh with a batsman of the caliber of sachin tindulkar
45:23they perhaps would have played it differently because a world-class batsman coming in
45:28would have perhaps given them the stability but they seem to just lose confidence in themselves
45:34afterwards
45:37oh that's a classic shot he makes the game look easy when he's in full floor
45:46well as i've always maintained he's one of the best players of fast bowling i've ever seen
45:50after vibrators that is i mean just look at the strokes he plays you know ordinary mortals don't
46:00play shots like that he makes it look very easy he has time the only pity is that why he hasn't scored
