00:01Everything is having the answer procedure process.
00:05Singapore is definitely a good place.
00:20Hello, I'm Eric.
00:21I'm 37 years old, from Hong Kong.
00:23Hello, I'm Eric.
00:25I'm 37 this year, and I'm from Hong Kong.
00:29I was born, raised, and grew up in Hong Kong.
00:32So, a place called Zhang Quan O in New Territories.
00:37So, it's a very typical neighbourhood with shopping malls.
00:42And then, I was studying in neighbourhood schools, in primary schools.
00:47Very typical Hong Kong students or Asian students study hard.
00:51When I was living in Hong Kong, I was working days and nights for just one job.
00:58And then, it's not much work-life balance.
01:02At that time, Hong Kong, there was a lot of uncertainty already.
01:06So, no matter how, I need to brace for some transition.
01:11When I tried to explore different places, and finally I could have a chance moving to Singapore.
01:18My parents are very supportive, they are very understanding.
01:21My friends, a lot of them may not know Singapore very well at that time.
01:27Lifestyle in Hong Kong and Singapore actually quite similar.
01:31It's just the pace in Hong Kong a bit faster.
01:34Even when you see people walking in Hong Kong is faster, the escalator is faster than Singapore.
01:40I feel, yes, here is also cosmopolitan.
01:43People are also working very hard, very fast.
01:46But comparatively, people are more relaxed here.
01:49And they're more chill compared with Hong Kong.
01:53So, at that time, 2014, and when I come to Singapore.
01:57Of course, moving to a new place, there are a lot of challenges.
02:00I won't say in Singapore it's that easy that it's all in the bright side.
02:06There are some tough moments, especially rental, moving house in Singapore.
02:11But at the same time, you meet a lot of people that are willing to help.
02:18At first, I don't know much people in Singapore.
02:21Then I go up for more events, meet up, join some Dragon Ball teams.
02:27And then I know more people and so I enjoy the life here.
02:33My favourite thing I like in Singapore is how international it is.
02:36How so clean it is.
02:38Not just the environment, but the system here is good.
02:42Singapore is so structured.
02:45Everything is having the answer, procedure, process.
02:48Singapore is definitely a good place.
02:53So, this is one of my favourite place in Singapore, Haji Ling.
02:56Very colourful, different style.
02:58A lot of bars, cafes.
03:00Today we are filming, it's on a weekday.
03:03Afternoon, it's already a lot of tourists.
03:05When my friends come to Singapore, I will bring them over.
03:09Have happy hour, have a tea time.
03:12So, it's very different from other places like shopping malls, residential area.
03:19We can drink in Haji Ling and then go nearby.
03:23There are a lot of Middle East food, which is hard to find somewhere else.
03:28Especially in Asia or Hong Kong.
03:30When I grew up in Hong Kong, 90% of people are Cantonese or Hong Kongese.
03:38Then you don't have time to explore more to talk to different people.
03:42But in Singapore, it's multiracial and then there are a lot of expats.
03:48Whether they stay here, work here or they just come for travel.
03:52It's more international, modernised in terms of race, religion.
03:57Then here when we go out, when we eat together, choose a restaurant.
04:02Then we know, oh okay, someone because of religion or the background, not eating this and that.
04:09Then we can understand the reason behind.
04:12And people here respect each other, which is very important.
04:16Maybe people from Singapore are used to it already.
04:20But in other parts, even when they travel to some other places, it's not the same.
04:26So that's the treasure in Singapore.
04:31I like writing or sharing.
04:34Sometimes I contribute to different media.
04:36For example, on Zhaobao, I write some start-up or AI development.
04:43At the same time, a lot of people in Hong Kong, they are interested in what's happening in Singapore.
04:50So besides some interview on the Hong Kong media,
04:55I have a short session on RTHK, one of the radio stations in Hong Kong,
05:00to talk about Singapore, be it more like on the cultural part or some policy.
05:05So I share on the radio station in Hong Kong.
05:08Being a Singaporean to me means openness, acceptance, and then myself also have this kind of mindset,
05:21talking with different people, understand the background of each other, the mixture of different culture.
05:29And not just talking about the business, we can work together, but also living here in Singapore daily life with the neighbourhood here.
05:39So for example, when I go for the neighbourhood, I still remember when I first played table tennis around the CC.
05:48Those uncles and aunties are very welcoming.
05:51Then sometimes they ask me how's my world, teach me some slang, Hokkien, English.
05:59At the same time, they're also curious about my background from Hong Kong.
06:03But we are very good friends and then we still play together after so many years.
06:10If people ask me what will be the five years later in Singapore, what will my life be?
06:21It's hard to tell because even every year in Singapore for me is very different.
06:26I would say definitely overall there are different new opportunities.
06:30I can't really picture what will happen after five years, but I still feel optimistic in Singapore.
06:40There was many chances of seeing myself before I was trying to be.
06:46I am yet to live around for 11 years before the dive into my own.
06:50I am so as very demanding to be the spirits of thought in understanding of the world.
06:53I don't have to give knowledge and read knowledge.
06:56I don't have to be aware of many reasons.
06:58I don't have nothing but έ aprende.
07:00I do not believe that I will see the light that I will see the light.
07:03We will see the future of all the people.
07:06At the точ spot, there are always going to be the best people there.
07:37We'll see you next time.
07:39In the future,
07:41no matter how difficult it is,
07:43we must continue to be in the middle of the day
07:45and be in the middle of the day.
07:47We hope to be with you.
07:49We hope to be in the end of the day.
07:51I'm Eric.
07:53I'm Eric.
08:07I'll see you next time.
