00:09Mr. President, I was horrified to hear moments ago that conservative activist Charlie Kirk has died
00:16after being shot today while speaking at an event on the campus of Utah Valley University.
00:23Political violence, which this attack seems to be, has no place in this country. None.
00:32I'm deeply disturbed by the threat of violence that has entered our political life.
00:37And I pray that we will remember that every person, no matter how vehement our disagreement with them,
00:44is a human being and a fellow American deserving of respect and protection.
00:52My prayers are with Charlie Kirk's wife and children and his whole family,
00:58with the doctors and nurses who cared for him,
01:01and with all those who were present at the shooting.
