At a House Oversight Committee hearing on Wednesday, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) fired back at Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) over comments made about Washington, DC.
00:02Thank you. I thank the gentleman for his comments and associate myself with him and yield back to you, Mr. Chairman.
00:10Would a gentleman yield for a question from Arizona?
00:16Does Arizona have a question? I mean, are you asking me? Yeah, yeah. Go ahead and ask us.
00:22I just want to ask you a question about as it relates to D.C. I mean, do you think it's fair that there's 700, over 700,000 people who live here without proper representation who pay taxes?
00:31Let me ask you this. Did you take an oath to adhere to the Constitution of the United States?
00:35I did. The Constitution of the United States doesn't prohibit us from making D.C. a state. It says that there should be a federal district run by Congress, and the bill that Ms. Norton is pushing would amend and change the federal district.
00:45So I'll reclaim my time because it's only nine seconds. I oppose D.C. statehood unequivocally. But let me just say this. If you adhere to the Constitution, then you understand that we clearly have the exclusive authority over D.C. legislation yield back.
01:01So I want to break some of our Que厤 için and I'll summation you so that there's a question about it and I want to keep going with it.
01:06So thank you again to Walkie Hill.
01:08That means the current thingă too much about the sentiment its good luck is not ë° ×ת normalć§ that may gĹos impact in our environment.
01:11So I can Typekit㍠say this. This is a old solution.

01:24It has a new problem.
01:26It's been our case based in sync, and it depends on your view of the individuality as you say in adherence.
