00:08a day after Israel's attack on its soil.

00:11The Qatari Prime Minister said Tuesday it would not be put off in its efforts to mediate

00:16a deal between Israel and Hamas, but didn't let Israel off the hook.

00:21Mediation in Qatari diplomacy is part of our identity and will continue.

01:01I am horrified at the idea that when we finally had an American-led deal that could have led

01:09to the release of our hostages, this is the action that took place.

01:12If you want to negotiate with someone, you don't kill him.

01:17President Trump, meanwhile, attempted damage control, issuing a rare rebuke to Israel and

01:22calling Qatar, which is home to the largest American military base in the Middle East,

01:27a strong U.S. ally and friend.

01:30Arab countries are increasingly concerned about Israel's belligerence and the attack risks

01:34undermining U.S. credibility in the region.

01:37I think this is the final nail in the coffin of any kind of negotiations that is taking place

01:43between Israel and Hamas, as far as it is mediated by Qatar.

01:48Qatar has always been the diplomatic channel of these negotiations, and it does not intend

01:54to pay a direct price by playing this role.

01:58And that is obviously the kind of consequence that also Netanyahu and the Israeli government

02:02probably expect to happen.

02:04On Wednesday, Israel warned that its enemies were not safe anywhere, and that if it hadn't

02:10succeeded in killing Hamas leaders this time, it would the next.
