00:00At a time where I feel like culture is kind of narrowing into these us and them narratives,
00:04we really need to remind ourselves that that is our role as creators, to stretch culture,
00:10to stretch our consciousness, to stretch the scope of characters and stories where we might
00:15recognize ourselves, and really, to stretch the scope of who and what is considered human.
00:23I think that's so necessary right now, but it's so necessary right now for us as creatives
00:29to remind ourselves, with everything that's going on in the world, that that's not extracurricular.
00:36You know, that's really what we're in the business of engaging with.
00:39We're in the business of challenging narratives that are trying to shrink the scope of what
00:44it is to be human.
00:45That really is our role, and yes, we have to get the bag, and yes, we have to keep our
00:57bosses happy, and yes, we have to be strategic, but that is our role.
01:02That is our role.
01:04And so I would like to, from the heart, just like to embolden and invite everyone in this
01:10room, that when they're faced with an opportunity to extend the scope of humanity to those places
01:18where it has not currently been extended, to places like Sudan, to places like Gaza.
01:25There's super politicians and story spinners who are really trying to divide us and shrink
01:40the scope of what is human.
01:41Just remember, it's not, nah, that ain't my job.
01:46That is literally our job.
01:48That is literally our job, and how you choose to do it is up to you.
01:52Everyone has a different comfort zone.
01:53I'm shitting myself coming up here saying this right now.
01:56Sometimes you just come out and say it.
01:58Sometimes you put it in work.
01:59Sometimes you put it in your heart as a prayer, and you see what that scene might move into.
