00:00But one player we need to discuss is the kind of future surrounding
00:04Nicholas Raskin, who, of course, was bummed out of Martin's squad
00:09for the old firm clash against Celtic prior to the international break.
00:14Apparently due to a fallout between the pair,
00:17Raskin has since been away on international duty with Belgium.
00:21He scored against Kazakhstan over the weekend on just his fifth cap,
00:26but he's due to return to Dibrox over the next couple of days
00:30and will hold showdown talks with Martin and Sport Director Kevin Thelwell
00:36to discuss resolving this issue.
00:42And I'd imagine from your perspective, Ben,
00:45it's quite important that this does get resolved quite quickly
00:49as Raskin is arguably one of Rangers' best players.
00:53And yeah, I would go as far as to say he is their best player
00:56and he's certainly their most tangible asset.
00:59He's a Belgian midfielder and yes, they were playing Kazakhstan,
01:03but he scored for the Belgian national team in a midfield
01:06that's got Juri Telemans and Kevin De Bruyne on it.
01:08Like, he is a, you know, if you would say to Rangers now,
01:13you can go and buy a Belgian international midfielder.
01:16Off the top of your head, without knowing anything about said player,
01:19you would probably go, oh well, that'll probably 20, 25 million pounds.
01:22Just because of the calibre of that national team.
01:25So for them to have that potential level of asset on their hands
01:30and from, as it stands now, currently be really training on his own,
01:34but it sounded as if prior to the old firm.
01:37It's one of them where if you're going to, he clearly wants to stay.
01:42He's been quite vocal on that.
01:43He doesn't seem like he wants to go.
01:45He seems like he can see himself being the main man at Rangers
01:48and you can definitely see a path for him to be that guy.
01:52And then whether it be, I think, Wolves were mentioned, Fiorentina.
01:55Then he goes and goes to a club like that.
01:57But I think it's imperative, obviously.
02:02A, because he's their best midfielder.
02:04And B, because you could potentially have, again, like Ranger have done in the past
02:09with Morelos, with Kent, with plenty of others.
02:12You could have an asset just diminishing in value
02:14and then you end up selling them for, you know, buttons really compared to
02:19what you could have had for him.
02:20You don't want a Hamzaga man situation where the player's there
02:23and, you know, you start, you know, proper headlines are being made
02:28about sort of discipline and all that.
02:30You would want to see it resolved.
02:31It sounds like Raskin wants to see it resolved.
02:34And I suppose now we just wait to see if it actually does get resolved.
02:37It was quite interesting, wasn't it?
02:39Neil McCann's comments post-match after the derby
02:42and he was basically quite open about the fact that Raskin has been
02:46a disruptive figure behind the scenes, particularly in training,
02:52by the sounds of it, McCann spoke quite candidly.
02:55I thought about the whole situation, that they came to blows
02:58on several occasions.
03:01But, yeah, I mean, obviously there's still the potential
03:04that there could be late transfer interest in them
03:07as there are a couple of windows still open over the next couple of days,
03:10but it's difficult to see that happening.
03:13And Raskin's kind of said that that's already out of the question,
03:16hasn't he, Ben?
03:16And so, yeah, he's one player that is kind of a real fan's favourite
03:22at Ibrox, and you'd imagine that it'll be best for all parties
03:28if they can get this resolved as quickly as possible,
03:30going into a massive game this weekend.
03:32in.
03:33And I'll see you next time.
03:45And we'll see you next time.
03:46Now we'll go back.
