00:05as reports surface that Chinese warplanes flew close to a Taiwanese medical flight in June.

00:10The plane was flying from Taitung in eastern Taiwan to the outlying Jingmin Islands,

00:15when two Chinese jets reportedly came close enough to be seen by the flight crew.

00:19The flight company says there was still some distance between them,

00:23but the mainland Affairs Council, which governs relations with China,

00:26says the maneuver shows Beijing's disregard for human life.

00:30It also says it highlights China's growing military pressure on Taiwan.

00:34China regularly sends military aircraft into Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone.

00:59Town's Defense Ministry monitored 13 such jets around the country in the 24 hours up to Wednesday morning.
