00:00Hello and welcome back in this part of the video I'll be customizing the actual thing
00:07itself and I'll be basically joining these together as one piece as you can see it's an
00:12MFB cube it's two squares wide as I said I've kind of tweaked it moved it and kind of shaped
00:19it a little bit and what I've also done if you've watched your video you'll notice it's a blender
00:24black up here blender black here on the studs and this is a different kind of wood colour okay now
00:32that's only with template colours so all you have to do as I said to you in the first video if you
00:38go to the colour we just here I've got a colour now what I've done if you don't know how to UV map
00:44and texture it um if you look at my video how to UV map and texture I'll show you exactly how to do it
00:50then of course all you have to do is add your texture now what I've done because I'm using
00:55Unreal Engine that's what I'm using to make my game Red Band Alley um Unreal Engine I've got a whole
01:03massive range of items that you can use inside the game engine I think it's absolutely fantastically
01:08great I want to use the items I also want to use the textures so anyway um I've seen a wood texture in
01:16there is this one here it's called a wood oak that's what it's called and I think this one is called
01:23wood pine I think that's what it's called but um not too sure but anyway the two wood textures I think in
01:30the game world it's going to look like that so I'll make it here yep that looks rather great so what I
01:35want to do I want to select all of these so I want to set these I just want to go here and look join say
01:42yep and it's been to say no you're not doing that that easy I think great blender click this
01:49hold control right on the keyboard press that hold control right on the keyboard press that
01:56when blender stops messing around press all of those and yeah blender I want all of them to blender
02:04okay click here ignore the thing on the screen just press that that that and that and go here
02:12now you tell Glen to join Glen says okay what can do here yeah what he doesn't do the first time
02:18and honestly I really couldn't tell you as I say they are all joined together now it's one piece
02:24there look he's got a little crack in between the gaps just to make it look a little bit nicer
02:31yeah you're supposed to be there just in case you're wondering that so click that
02:35I think it'll get corner great let's leave that like that for a moment
02:39of course we can make it different if you want to we can just make basically one scene as an
02:45another way to do this if you don't want to do it that way is I'll show you if you just copy that
02:53and I'm just going to paste it I'm going to show you this how just in case you want to do it this way
02:57and just just smack that over there somewhere so it's it's like it's not a separate template okay
03:03if you don't want to see that all cracking it because the pieces of wood and they will kind
03:08of join together I think great I don't want to see that I think that's supposing that's the case
03:13scenario you see this okay go into full wireframe mode like this select all this and just delete it
03:23okay I don't need to do the bottom but I'll do the bottom anyway press that and click that select all
03:29of that take it back around go to extrude turn the snapping on and just snap it
03:40now of course if you do it nice easy gentle and be careful with it get this absolutely perfect as you can
03:48see as I said once I've joined them all together perfectly I'll be tweaking it just like this
03:56so instead of having all of this mesh I end up with this mesh look at the coffee look at it
04:03I think it looks kind of okay but the problem with that is blender being blender is designed to turn the
04:12whole thing inside out like that you need to behave yourself so select all that go here and go flip
04:22go back and check it now you're not going to be thinking hey well yeah now it don't look too great
04:27no don't look great now because I have to remap it because if I don't remap that it's not going to look
04:33like that right so this is the quick way how to remap go here of course I'm on the one behind there
04:41so go here select all of it you see the map for it the map's completely messed up go here just say
04:47unwrap smart map let's try smart map let's see how that looks okay yeah let's try that leave it on
04:57that click off here yeah click on the texture and it's going to ask you oh what kind of texture do
05:04you want and let's pick a texture we'll have this one okay now we go back and have a look at it
05:10i figure how does that look yeah yeah looks a bit terrible honestly oh yeah not bad i suppose it
05:19could it couldn't work really like that yeah there's no reason why that couldn't work so i think okay
05:26kind of great yeah it doesn't quite look like that but it's not far off it i thought you could change
05:31the way it looks by going into the actual map you can select all that and scale it so if you go in here
05:39and just select all of that now of course that affects depending obviously that's where it's supposed
05:49to be so if you go here and scale it now if i go back and take a look at the model
05:59you see how it looks different that says okay yeah so obviously all you have to do is keep jumping in and
06:05out of here and scale it up and then we can go back take another look yeah i don't really want it like
06:12that so then you scale this now don't forget when you scale this um yeah i don't i don't really
06:20recommend scaling it because i'll tell you the reason for it um when you go around to make the next part
06:26see like that so i think yeah as i say it looks fine it looks perfectly fine but um i think okay but
06:35don't forget once you go around and you modify this part you'll have to kind of roughly remember where
06:44the map was originally so let me just undo this because as i say if you're making the same asset
06:54if you only make one seal of that just smart uv and leave it go back to it yeah i know it looks
07:02quite different i think yeah just leave it standard because i'll tell you what i said when you're making
07:07and copying and pasting the bar yeah you have to keep going in and and altering the texture to match
07:14the other texture i think and yeah i'm not doing that i'm really not i'm thinking okay i'm just going to
07:20basically set the ubi map exactly as it is standard as i said if you look at the geometry from here to
07:27here so step over these locally as i said more simple the same geometry it's exactly the same
07:39now of course yeah when you do that with the wood you have to do the wood separate because um yeah you
07:47can't really do that with a piece of wood because still separate there you have to keep them the
07:51way it is but the top of it yeah you we can simplify the top and then you look like that
07:56whatever as i said it's only the counter that's what it is it's nothing else so i think okay go back
08:01here anyway that's how you basically quickly uv mapping quickly texturing and make it look different
08:08so as i say i like to show you the content as i'm doing it so as i said i don't want that so check that
08:12i will be having that for after i've made the content so as i said i made the content i'll give
08:19it a template as i'm making from the very simple flat piece of wood then to this piece and then of
08:25course we move into step two so this would be step two step one is on the floor it's a it's a blender
08:31cube then from the blender cube we go to something that looks like that and then from that we turn it into
08:36something like that and then of course we turn that into something else which even looks even better
08:42i think okay so i can't join these to this so imagine now you go to the bar and you order your
08:49pot your milk your water and take the panels off i think hello what's behind there then now as you know
08:59i make the inside and the outside so i think it um well it's got no inside in that so i'm going to
09:06make out as if this is a cupboard that's what i'm going to tell you because because it's going to be
09:11an mv cube it has to snap together so i'm thinking okay then so i said i've got no room for error on this
09:21so i'm thinking how we're going to build the cupboard to go with this because it's going to be totally
09:27separate to the unit i think it ah what i can do i kind of cheat a little bit on this um you you see
09:36the end of here i can what i can do is push it back and i can put some legs on it but um as i'm just
09:44looking at the geometry itself and thinking okay how can i add an extra unit to that of course i could do
09:51what all the big boys do and we can kind of cheat i think what yeah let's cheat so i think okay don't
09:59forget i'm going to glue it together after so it doesn't really matter make a cube here and skelly
10:09okay grab the tube bring it over and yeah i'm going to have that roughly about that corner
10:17square bit so i'm going to put it somewhere in the center of that then i'll go to scale and i'll
10:22scale back up like that blender pick off it click this click on the cube go back to scale click on the
10:32cube go back to here say set origin geometry click on here reading blender don't tell me you
10:40you don't tell me you've glued it to that blender and you have thank you blender blender's an
10:48absolutely piece of magic it really is when blender does that because blender does do that go here
10:55really just just select it blender go here go split right click separate selection
11:02now blender should know that there's no piece of wood on the floor it's completely utterly separate
11:08take that and put it in there so blender doesn't get confused okay i want to take these i'm going to
11:15put them in there so i don't get confused so take this one now send this back over to the box
11:23now we can continue doing what we're doing in the first place
11:27blender is already to mess around okay so corner scaling and corner getting in place
11:33i think yep that's a perfect little cube here and apply new transforms if you go back to it now
11:40because this originally was part of this because blender gluey um it automatically inherited the
11:46texture of it was part of this here as part of this because that's the texture we could change the
11:51texture to where it would not um because it's got a totally separate texture on that but as it it'll tell us
11:58how we want to go like doing that so first of all we want to click on the cube and stick it on the floor
12:05because as you can see it's nowhere near the floor i think in green press this ignore the thing on the
12:11screen because sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not okay now you can do that and now all i want to
12:19do is if i want to add my shelves in here if i want to do that i can do it from this cube so i can go here
12:27any any faces like this come to here zoom in now of course bring this up and twitch the bottom of
12:39there then left it cold and dragging twitchy there perfect this is like the leg of our cupboard that's
12:48going to attach pull it halfway and then don't exclude it again just go to move
12:53yeah i'm up here i'm up here blender
12:58you don't do that yeah that's what it's supposed to be okay so just grab this and pull it up
13:06zoom back in drag it up so it touches that go back to extrude extrude this file
13:14i'll say you gotta have a little bit of geometry but you don't need you don't need to go all this
13:18talk you really don't i'll say the big boys don't do this they just basically make a square piece of wood
13:23and stick it inside it and say oh yeah that's it it's done and yeah oh i'm not quite doing it like
13:29that i'm going to cheat a little bit but i'm doing it a different way so i'm thinking okay i'm going to go
13:34here we can save our progress
13:36so this is the bar now of course this can't go right to the right over there because i'll tell you
13:44the reason for it yeah how are we going to put the counter on it yeah we can't undo this bar
13:54because our counter you've got up here so thinking okay great now you want to move this piece of wood
14:00exactly where you want it it can't be outside of the ms way it's going to be inside of the cube
14:08but as i say my boundary box is good squares and yeah i can't really exceed that
14:15just move that into there so we get kind of an idea what's going on so about there we go here
14:23apply all the transforms as i say when you start seeing the progress of this thing and yeah i think
14:28you might like it yeah as i say this is now i'm going to move the template so i'm going to copy that
14:33and paste it in there and i'm going to avoid it i'm going to avoid those okay just save it just in case
14:39blender crashes so go here copy right click paste select that back to top mode and then make sure you move
14:48this one wherever to here okay bring the cursor back to the box because there's no intelligence
14:58in here there's really not it doesn't know where you're working as i don't have to touch it because
15:04it's inside the unit it's behind the back of it you're not going to be able to see it then again you
15:09might be able to see so yeah as a this will depend on obviously where you are but of course when i
15:16assemble it it's going to look absolutely perfect so you're not going to worry about the little gap down
15:20the side of it because we're going to push this back so it touches that because that's slightly over the square
15:27i think i'll look at it okay look at that you see how it's actually over the mark it shouldn't be there
15:34it should be exactly on the mark so really ideally if i push this back a little bit i need to make this
15:42cube a little bit smaller because yeah this is a little bit bigger than it's supposed to be
15:47but i thought yeah i don't want a little tiny bit of error yeah not really i want to fix it properly
15:55so i want to take this i want to take this now these are perfect i really so i can leave them
16:04like to where they are so if i don't move those i've got to move this
16:08make sure nothing inside there
16:15check all that i've been great go back to here zoom in as i said i'm working to the mb cubes
16:24so in order to do that when i move this i'll have them snap it exactly to the line because as i said you
16:32can't go outside of the four squares these are the four squares you can't go outside of that grab this
16:41grab this
16:47now we can we can make the box smaller if we want to but um i'm thinking actually i can't
16:54want to look on the size of the box so i think you're going to leave the box as it is just this
16:59go into go into my frame because i'll say i think it's a nice size for the actual unit
17:05so if i select these two zoom back in go to move and just move this turn off the snapping tool
17:14and snap it right to the edge of that now if we go back and look at it everything is in this perfect
17:25bottom in a perfect little spot
17:31as i said so we're slowly building up the bar we're slowly building up the house the bedroom as i said
17:38it doesn't be a bar it can be a bedroom so i said you can take those off now look now that's how it's
17:43looking behind it he's thinking okay so i'll say in the in the game world i want to give you options
17:48to go in and out of certain places and if you're stuck inside the bedroom maybe the kitchen and you
17:54got nowhere yeah you won't go you can probably go for the work through the brick through the wall
17:59depending on what it's made of i am of course if you're if you if you got the ability to do that you
18:08can do that okay now these two need to be joined so put these two in here click these two go here
18:14to parent you're not parenting okay so now this is one piece now what you want to do here is click
18:24on this piece copy it yeah what's that blender yeah yeah yeah it looks like my graphic is messing around
18:31i think so yeah go on top of here now you want to move this to wherever it is you want to move it to
18:37um ideally digi where you bring emma into the plate and work out where emma is so i'm going to put
18:45this to about there i'm not going to do any more than that that's more than what it is for a shelf
18:51i said it's a shelf that's what it is so put this here i don't know i don't know what blender do
19:00um go to join joining so now all of that is one piece
19:06but as you can see we're making progress we're building the content as we're going so you're going
19:10to see the bar being made and then you put then you put them you know the shelves in there
19:17get all the items then the then the shop where you put the floor then the shop okay now look at
19:23this okay what i'm going to do here i'm going to click on here i said we want to make sure it's all
19:29kind of one object to go here click this tick the faces and click here now of course you don't have
19:37to do this part because this way you can do this one different so if i go to points now i can do it
19:43all together as one piece all i can do so as i said i'm trying not to make a long video for you
19:50i don't want to make those little pieces if you don't understand what i'm talking about now the
19:55tops of this i don't need unless of course the top of the counter falls off and then of course you
20:00do need it so i think it am is my camera going to fall off yeah no my camera's not going to fall off
20:06so i can go here and i can delete that i can delete that i say you want to keep the geometry that you
20:12need and get rid of the geometry that you don't need as it is never going to fall off so you're never
20:18going to see so click the corners
20:21we can do these ones as well let's just do the edges so we're going to click on the edges around here
20:32okay and yeah you're not going to see nobody do this yeah i said we can leave it on that actually
20:38you know what let's let's just take all of those
20:39and do actually need all of them and yeah let's just do one we do all that
20:50i've got the coffee that's needed in any house not too great i'm really not um now of course this
20:57would be the bottom of the bar so i think here do you want to put a shelf on that okay so this is a shelf
21:04it's on the bottom of the bar i pull it on it down the shelf so go here
21:08as i'm falling to the bar it's not i'm getting too far ahead of myself
21:13yep extrude as i say you're watching the making of it so ignore the fact that it's going off
21:19on its own thing and then snap it back okay so yeah as i said sometimes it does that
21:25really okay but then obviously doesn't do anything for a straight line that's those two on this side
21:42press these two turn off the snapping tool zoom in and make that line back straight
21:54so blender knows yeah that's not really straight either
21:58okay so just as i said i like to work in wireframe just in case you're kind of messing around like this
22:08yeah
22:12kind of get it like that so it looks corner straight it doesn't matter if it's got a little bow in it
22:17because as i said it's um it's entirely optional yeah okay now we can join the faces from here
22:27so we don't need to really do the inside because we're not going to see it
22:31but again if it comes off we are going to see it
22:39and i'm going to fill the face just this side
22:41fill that face so just go around the model fill in the faces
23:03as i said you don't have to go to all this talk when we can make your models i'll tell you that in
23:06more videos but um as i said oh because my mvq content is different and it's all joined together
23:12different and the idea of that is if you basically pick it up chuck it on the floor and smash it
23:18um yeah you can physically smash it and i don't need to do the inside
23:28not really i don't need to do it again of course if you're going to smash it
23:32like everything you have to do the inside but of course if i'm not planning on smashing this
23:42not that one i want that one let me just check that
23:49as i show a piece of one there i say i'm making like a box that's basically what i'm making so
23:54let me just let me just draw around it and then i'll delete the parts that i don't actually want
24:02that's wrong just go on here clean that let's take a look at it making sure you only get
24:13inches and the little points

24:23i said we need to go into blender in a minute and tell blender to turn the faces over because this
24:33is going to be upside down inside out probably back to front so we need to fix that as i said i'm
24:40showing you all different things inside blender so if you think that my videos are just there kind of
24:46really not showing you nothing yeah i'll show you a thing so basically you build the skeleton
24:52from the frame you need to do one here one down here so obviously depends if you've got shelves in
24:59there or not but um as i said i don't want shelves in every cupboard but i do want shelves in the cupboard
25:04so as i said we can push this up so you've got a middle shelf and a bottom shelf then of course we need
25:10one like this where it's only a locker unit so if the character comes along you can take the wood off
25:16crawl through the cupboard and off to freedom maybe maybe not so as i can talk to you now of course
25:27what you'd want to do here to save extrudely again just click here
25:33as i said the ones inside here i don't need them so i'll get rid of them in a moment
25:40press f to fill it now ideally when you're modeling blender go here and turn on the back pages
25:47you'll notice that some of the model is correct and some of the model is back to front
25:54blend out you are a piece of magic click on it go here and turn it over same here okay click the face
26:01over here turn the face over here turn the face over as i look at the face underneath there we say yep
26:13it's definitely transparent yeah and turn it over okay look at the one behind there okay now the one
26:22inside here i don't need the one inside here i don't need that one i don't need this one and i don't need this one
26:36but i need to turn this one back over
26:41okay so now it looks like that not too bad but this one is upside down turn this over
26:47so blender knows that that's the inside now it does have a panel on it just to let you know that
26:58click the corners so this is our this is the shelf that goes underneath the unit the shelf the top shelf
27:06is here so we'll do that next okay i go here as i said you talk to us how we're doing this as i said
27:14the dishes might be where where the where the tool goes inside of the shop but now as i said you need to
27:22move this up onto this almost that level okay zoom in go to extrude extrude this up like that look at your
27:33slide and it's about one two five squares there about okay snap it up turn on snapping
27:45that five no that's five
27:49okay so now leave it like that now click this panel over here
27:56because this panel now and this panel they're both separate but at this point in time this one and
28:01this one would be actually joined together because that's how what we're doing so all i'm going to do now
28:07is make the shelf from here to here well from here to here and across so we've got the bar on top
28:16and we've got the little counter underneath here
28:20yeah this is my counter and my bar now of course when i glue this to this it's going to automatically
28:26inherit the texture of that whatever as i say i ain't going to make you be mapping it yet because
28:33it's going to look a lot similar to this well probably most of it but yeah it's going to look
28:37a lot different but um as i said and then the top of the bar i'm going to split it and i'm going to
28:41have that completely utterly different color different color maybe like black marble white marble
28:47something like that just so it looks different just so you can tally it all separate so yeah
28:51as i said so it's up to you how you want to go about doing it so anyway this is the progress we'll
28:58make it on the bar if you're interested so as i said i'm trying to show you the tools i'm trying to
29:03show you how to do it how to map it as i said i am showing you how to map uv mapping i'm showing
29:09to texture it i'll show you how to color it how to paint it how to animate it and i'm also showing
29:16in now how to get the content from blender over into the unreal engine so you can interact with it
29:24into your game so as i said the whole point is to make the content good on each game with free
29:30content so you can take it over customize twist bend and shape it the way you want to without
29:35restrictions i think you know obviously you know doing some fantastic ones like this they really are
29:40i know some of them are absolutely awesome but unfortunately you can't use them
29:44um unless you pay for the license and date even when you do that does a some people put certain
29:52restrictions on it so you can use it for like personal use then you pay so much money and then
29:58of course if you want to use it for commercial use or public use uh yeah you've got to pay a whole lot
30:03more i think you know let's let's do exactly that but let's take off the price tag and let's make it
30:09absolutely free of charge stay safe keep it friendly and don't forget to subscribe and i'll see you in
