00:00Hello guys, welcome to MMPcubes, welcome to learning animation in Blender, welcome to Dumpshee, Action Editor and Long Linear, just in case you're wondering.
00:13First of all we need a project to work on. This is your animation bar, hold it left, hold it and drag it.
00:19Use the mouse on the laptop. I'm going to load in the project. I've already made it available if you want it.
00:25Go to Glyph, download, bring it in. This is Red Band Alley Market, so we're going to play with this and see how it works.
00:34Click OK, I'm going to hide the object here, I'm going to click that over here and hide it.
00:40Now again make sure to play the door opens and closes. I've been great. First of all I'll show you the basics of tools,
00:47how to get it working and as quick as I possibly can. Grab this and drag it up.
00:52In case you need to be able to see this list. Go here. Now if you go into Doshi, we'll be going in there in a moment
00:59because we'll be animating to animations. When you go into Doshi, don't do nothing there. Go here. Go to Action Editor.
01:07This is where you add new actions. Say oh yeah, that's what I want to learn. I'll show you this in a moment.
01:13And it's really easy to use it. OK, the push me, push down button. So yeah, when you make an animation, you push it down.
01:20Where does it go? You see your list here. It goes in the list. Well, to access it from here. You can access it here.
01:28But to move it around. I'll show you. So let's suppose we made an animation.
01:35All we do is click and push down. When we do that, it goes into Non-Linear.
01:42Inside the Non-Linear, you have a little book looking thing. Open that. OK. Now whichever one is ticked,
01:50is exactly what animation works. So the door with no handle. I mean, that's great.
01:59There's no point changing the names in here because when you export it, it's OK to name it.
02:04With two left clicks, you can name it. If you want to name this side, you have to right-click and go to Rename.
02:11And then rename it here. OK, so as I say, if you want to name these ones, there's no point doing that tricking it.
02:18You have to right-click and go to Rename. And then rename it. OK, it's up to you if you want to name it.
02:23There's absolutely no point. As I say, for a nice, easy reference, if you're setting up your model,
02:30you can call that door if you want to. Like that. Just press Enter. So yeah.
02:36OK, it's just so you know what it is. So that's it. You don't need to do that part.
02:40Because once you read that, you know that's the door. So put the lock on it.
02:44Because we want to keep that one exactly where it is. OK, down here, I think it's this one.
02:48It's the door handle. It's the door handle. So on here, we can say, I'm going to call it H1.
02:55OK. Now, supposing now you want the door to open with the handle. You tick the handle.
03:03You tick the door. When you're opening, you're going to put on the handle. And the door opens.
03:08When the door opens, and when the door's fully open, you let go of the handle. And the handle goes back.
03:14Nice, easy and simple. That's how you do the other major. Now, if you want to export that, the door exactly like that.
03:23All you do is go here. Go to export. You export it as a glyph if you want to. I'm going to tell you when you do your animations. Export as a glyph folder.
03:35That way, you won't get confused. OK. Go to your downloads. Before you go to export, press this. Go here. Actions. Now, when you go in here, all of the actions are set on NoTracks. NoTracks means they're all separate.
03:51OK. If you look up here. Now, this one as well. Look, if you read. I can't go onto the text. It says NoTracks. So, this one is the same as this one.
04:02This one here is a glyph animation. Now, if I were to click that. OK. If I've done that, and then we'll go to export. It will make the whole animation one animation. OK. I'll put it back on Actions. So, everything is standard. Pick off it. OK. So, that's how you get the animation.
04:19OK. So, that's how you get the action out of here. Once you've done that, you can just bring it back in.
04:25Just the door animation on its own, if you want to. And then, all you have to do is go the second time. Export it to whatever you want.
04:34And it will just work absolutely perfect. OK. So, that's how you do your door and your handle.
04:40OK. Now, let's go back. And let's go back to Doshi. Because we want to learn how to create an animation.
04:46OK. You can pull this down a little bit. Because it's too much. OK. Now, of course, like everything, you like your door.
04:52You do a handle. And open and close it. So, the door needs three animations. One, when it's closed.
04:58Two, when you try the handle. And three, when you open the door with the handle.
05:04The door needs three animations. Not just open and close. So, the door hatch is exactly the same.
05:12OK. So, first of all, open your model. If you can see an animation here, which is already an animation on that.
05:20If I right click the animation, I can clear it. Now, what I tell you to do before you animate absolutely anything.
05:28Select the objects together. Whatever objects are with that. This hatch has got a little tiny hook on it.
05:35And a door. If you press this, it will show you where it is. Look, it's completely messed up.
05:40Go here. Apply all transforms. Everything goes to zero, I think, in here. Perfect.
05:47OK. Now, I'm not animating the handle. I'm animating the door. Go here. Edit. Click the little point inside the door.
05:56Depending on which way you want the door to open. I'm going to have my door open this way.
06:01You might want to open it sideways. It's up to you. It's however you want to do it. OK. I'm going to have mine open this way.
06:07OK. So, you click the little dot. You right click. You go snap the cursor to active.
06:14The cursor jumps here. Come out of this mode.
06:18Go to object. Go to set origin. Origin to cursor.
06:24The little yellow dot jumps from over there and jumps over there.
06:27Now, we're ready to animate. Now, first, digital animation one. Right click.
06:34Go down to here. Key frames. Go to that. And always do visual location and rotation. Always do that.
06:42OK. What that idea of that is, is if you decide to move it around the level, the animation will follow the object.
06:50If you don't do that, when you move the object over here, the animation is going to be over here.
06:55And, yeah, it's going to look really kind of silly.
06:58OK. Now we've done that. Now you see, look, we've got a brand new action.
07:02OK. So, we can put a shield on it if we want to. Or we can turn the shield off. It doesn't matter.
07:08What you're interested in, is push it down. OK. Now it's been added inside of your list.
07:16OK. You can name it if you want to. It's entirely up to you.
07:19Don't do nothing else. That's your idle animation.
07:22OK. Right click. Insert animation again. Say visual location.
07:27This is our second animation. OK. Now we want to go to about 60 seconds.
07:32So the door opens. So when the door is open, really, the hatch would not move.
07:38But, in my case, I'm going to have it move at the same time. Just so you can see.
07:43OK. I'm going to turn it around. Zoom in a little bit.
07:47Now, at this point, you can't see the floor.
07:50You know where the floor is, because the floor is actually there. Right along that whole strip.
07:55So what you want to do, is go to move. And you want to rotate this all the way over. Until it touches the floor.
08:03Don't go below the floor. Now that's below the floor. Just go back up a little bit.
08:08No, not like that. Because if you've made a mistake, just go undo. Take this. Back up.
08:14I want it back there. That's roughly where the floor is, I think, there about.
08:18OK. If you bring back the building, like this. And you turn it into a wireframe.
08:23You can actually see, look, the floor is a little bit lower than that.
08:27So we can go here. Now we can tweak it. So it just actually touches the floor.
08:32Like that. When you're happy with it, right click. And go insert. Yes.
08:39As I say, you don't have to show the building, but I show the building so I can see the floor.
08:44You can hide it. As I say, go back to standard.
08:47OK. That's your animation. Now you go look at your animation. Look at your masterpiece.
08:52It opens. It closes. Great. Now what we want to do is I'm going to push it down.
09:00Now at the moment it's got no animation on it. Well it has. It's got that animation on it.
09:04OK. Because that's what I just made. Now what I want to do, I want to go here.
09:08Go back to non-linear. Now I want to look at the actual foundation.
09:13I think OK. Now I can decide which animations I want to put together and which ones I don't.
09:19Now this is the door. This is the door handle. Watch. See the door handle? The door and the hatch.
09:29I think. Yeah. I don't want it like that. OK. So one of these opens the hatch. One closes it.
09:35So this one. On ticket. Oh look. Now the door opens with the handle. And there's no hatch.
09:43Now. Now you want to take the hatch. So don't forget you'll be exporting these models.
09:49So nice look. Now it all works together. OK. So you would have.
09:55Ideally you'd just turn it like that. And you'd leave it set up like that.
09:59That way when you're exporting. Like that. The whole thing works.
10:05What do you think of the animation? Was that easy enough for you?
10:09I really hope you liked the animation. As I said. Once you tick the boxes.

10:17Well you can put the padlock on all of them. It doesn't matter. Just put the padlock on.
10:21That way you can't move the items. Now of course. I'll explain the moving the items later on.

11:05So if you use like. Unreal Engine. Where your character idles. Then she walks. Then she runs. That's exactly how it's set up. Just like that.
11:17Okay. It's a very easy. Very simple to do it.
11:21I'll say. A little bit more information. When you're happy with where they are.
11:25Don't matter where you put them. When you put them in position. Just lock them in place. That way.
11:29They won't move nowhere. When you're happy with your animation. When you are happy with it.
11:33So it's all done. We can go back here. Now because it's all done. Now this is almost completely perfect.

11:48Click the glass on the door. Okay. Now I want to do this because as you can see. My glass. You can't see through it.
11:55Click the glass. Go here. Okay. Over here. You'll color. You can pick any color. Click that.
12:01You can pick any color of the rainbow. Put the hue on it. Click the glass. Go here. Turn that to zero.
12:10Change this to a roundabout three. Because three will give you like a little bit of transparency.
12:17Okay. Scroll down. You can turn all this off if you want to. It's entirely optional.
12:24I recommend you just turn it off. Because you don't need it.
12:28Okay. If you get a problem with resetting it. Just press the zero. And reset it.
12:33Okay. As I say. Just come down. Turn them all off.
12:36As I say. Sometimes I've got to press zero myself. Because. Yeah. My mouse doesn't kind of do.
12:41Okay. Just turn them all off. You don't need none of that. Okay.
12:44When you come down here. You see that alpha channel. Click this.
12:49Put zero. Point three. Don't forget to do the alpha channel. Or you won't be able to see it for the glass.
13:01Okay. When you come down here. You'll see settings. Open settings. Alpha. Put it on blend. Press this. Clip.
13:11So you want to alpha. Clip. Turn off the shadows. Go to the bottom. Go to display.
13:18You see how you can't see through the glass look. Turn the roughness off. Click on it. Click alpha.
13:25And tell the alpha. Okay. Zero. Point three.
13:32And now. We can look through the glass. And we can see how nice little floor.
13:39Now if we play the animation. And you can see. Look. The hammer moves. That moves.
13:43But the floor doesn't move. I think. Yeah. Because we haven't ticked it.
13:47Have we ticked it? Yes. We have ticked it. No. We haven't. We have ticked it off.
13:50So now you can look through the glass. And we can see how floor moving.
13:53As you can see. You can see the floor physically moving.
13:57How great is that? So I'm going to turn. Actually I'm going to.

14:54This is exactly how I set up the MF animation bar. Exactly the same way.
14:59If you go 6. The door opens. The trap door opens. So the character can go into the building.
15:06You can go through the trap door. Go into the building.
15:09You can stop the trap door. So nothing's doing. So nothing works a lot.
15:15Everything's just sitting there waiting for me to do whatever you want to do.
15:19We can do number 4. We can try the handle thing. Oh there's no one in there.
15:24Okay so as I say we can go number 3. Number 3 doesn't do nothing. Everything's idle.
15:30Number 2. We're trying the door. Oh yeah. Is that the same as that one? Yep.
15:37One of the animations is just so you can try the door. The other animation. If I glue it to animation 1.
15:45If you look at the door. The door opens for the handle of the roof.
15:49That's because I've told the animation to put it separate.
15:54Okay so this animation here goes with the door.
15:57And we've also got a separate animation here. Just for the door handle. Like that.
