00:00Hey Civ fans, Karl Karl Berrien here, game designer at Firaxis Games and security consultant
00:12for Independent Powers and Leaders. I'm here to break down the latest highlights and newest
00:17improvements to Civilization VII. Update 124 will be a smaller update as the dev team is hammering
00:24in some larger changes and updates to come. We can't spill all the details just yet, but I can
00:29tell you that improved map generation is on the horizon. The rest you'll just have to wait for.
00:36Update 124 brings a fresh rebalance to Wonders, minor adjustments to age transitions, and other
00:42various quality of life improvements. Kicking things off with a renovation to Wonders,
00:48Community Feedback has made it clear that some Wonders are not quite wonderful enough. This has
00:54made some Wonders hard to pass up, while others are rarely placed. So we've been working hard to
01:00rebalance 27 Wonders, which should open up fresh strategies to give your empire more meaningful
01:06options. Players will notice both smaller and larger changes to Wonders. For example, in Antiquity,
01:14Colossus has just been repositioned to the Tech Tree to put it on a different path than Monk's
01:19Mound. And in the Exploration Age, Wonders like the Forbidden City have been updated to provide more
01:25impactful Empire-wide benefits. We also introduced changes in Modern, like buffing Palacio de Bellas
01:32Artes to grant an artifact to propel you through the Cultural Legacy Path. We've relaxed placement
01:37restrictions on several Wonders, such as Ha-Amanga-o Maui and Machu Picchu, making them easier to construct in a
01:44variety of terrains. We look forward to seeing what new strategic choices these updates inspire.
01:50You can check out the full list of changes and details when the complete patch notes are released.
01:56Our second round of Age Transition Changes continues our work of smoothing out the edges. We've increased
02:02the maximum gold and influence that leaders can take into each age, so you can enter each era with
02:08more to spend and hands to shake. Speaking of friends, alliances now carry over to the next age,
02:15but the relationship will begin to decay from there. So while you won't have to hustle to rekindle a 100
02:21year old friendship, you'll still need to play nice for now. While this has been a lighter update for Age
02:28Transitions, we'll continue our work with more to share in updates to come. On the quality of life front,
02:34we've made a few small but meaningful updates, including Edge Panning. You no longer need to drag
02:40or click your way across the map. Simply move your cursor to the edges of the screen to smoothly traverse
02:45the world in any direction. Improved Controller Navigation. We've refined controller input to make
02:52smaller movements more precise. This should give you better control when working within detailed areas
02:58of the map. In addition, movements across larger maps should feel more fluid. We hope these incremental
03:04changes make navigating your sprawling empires even easier. Those were the highlights, but as always,
03:10there will be more in the patch notes. Whether you voiced your thoughts on Reddit, Discord, Steam,
03:16or in the comments section, we thank you for providing your feedback. Your insights help us continue to
03:22evolve Civ 7 together. Trust us when we say some major things are cooking behind the scenes.
03:29That's all for now, Civ fans. Have fun building your empires and conquering history until we meet again.
03:35Remember, build something you believe in.
