00:00Billboard is here, the 2025 VMA's red carpet with the one and only, The Icon, Ms. Jessica Simpson.
00:04How are you doing tonight?
00:05I am so good. I feel very blessed to be here.
00:08I can't believe I'm at the VMA's again at 45.
00:11Like, I took a long break, so it's fun to be back.
00:13But you're also back with new music. Talk to us about Nashville Canyon.
00:17Look, you even know. Thank you, thank you.
00:20Nashville Canyon is literally, like, the best thing I've ever done, other than having my children.
00:26For sure. Like, it's the first music I've put out that I've had full control over creatively.
00:33And so it's kind of genre-less. It's just everything that I love.
00:38And I've never done a record where it's an all-live music.
00:43So doing that was important to me.
00:46I'm like, why have I not been in a band my whole life?
00:49Like, this is, it's so organic for me.
00:52Like, I was always used to having just headphones and the track, and then it just being me.
00:57So it's a lot less lonely when you have a band.
01:00But, yeah, being in Nashville, it really grounded me, really centered me,
01:04and it brought out just the artistry and who I am, and it connected me with that.
01:10Absolutely. Now, it's been about, I don't want to say about 20 years since, like, Dukes of Hazzard.
01:14When are we going to get you on the big screen again?
01:16I would love to be on the big screen.
01:18I don't know. Like, it's one of those things.
01:21Like, I just started thinking about music last year, and I did it.
01:26So I feel like, I feel like that could be on the horizon. Why not?
01:31Like, I just shot something, a TV show that is coming.
01:34I'm on an episode of with Ryan Murphy produced it.
01:38It's called All's Fair. So, yeah, it's very cool.
01:41Whatever, Jessica, we can get, we'll take.
01:42Have a great time tonight.
