Erin Patterson has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a non-parole period of 33 years after a judge said she committed “an enormous betrayal of trust” in damning remarks over the fatal mushroom lunch that gripped Australia.

01:26thereby devastating the extended Paterson and Wilkinson families, you inflicted untold
01:31suffering on your own children whom you robbed of their beloved grandparents.
01:38The horrendous nature of your offending.
01:41Your total effective sentence will be life imprisonment and the period during which you will be ineligible
01:47for parole will be a very substantial one.

01:58For the attempted murder of Ian Wilkinson, I sentence you to 25 years imprisonment.
02:05For the murder of Heather Wilkinson, I sentence you to life imprisonment.
