00:00As we get set to break down an NFC North battle
00:03that was always going to be big time,
00:06what is even bigger with the arrival
00:07of the Defensive Player of the Year favorite
00:11in Micah Parsons,
00:13who is clearly expecting to have a monster impact
00:18for this Green Bay defense.
00:20Here's what Parsons had to say.
00:22And so that should mean something.
00:23So I'm gonna make them a lot of money.
00:25That ball's gonna come out a whole lot quicker.
00:27But that's what it's about, though.
00:29It's about feeding off each other,
00:31making plays off each other.
00:34It's just a team game, you know what I mean?
00:36They hold the coverage, third and five.
00:38They play tight coverage.
00:39I get a cover set.
00:41There might be a time where they might get cooked,
00:42but the ball's gonna come out early
00:44because I'm made up for it.
00:45That's what it's about.
00:46And that's what they should be excited about.
00:48You know, I think it's exciting
00:50about making plays for each other
00:51and, you know, putting each other in position
00:53so we can win football games.
00:55Micah Parsons.
00:57And look, so I don't think he's wrong.
01:01He, you know, clearly feels he is going to be
01:04a difference maker for the Green Bay defense
01:06where, hey, that ball's gonna come out quicker
01:09and my quarterbacks are gonna look a lot better
01:12thanks to me just being there.
01:14Do you agree with Micah
01:15about the impact he will have, Joe,
01:18for this Green Bay football team?
01:20I think he'll elevate them.
01:22Okay.
01:22I believe he's gonna have
01:23like a Miles Garrett type of effect
01:26where he's gonna put up 18 and a half sacks.
01:29And no, I think he'll be in the area
01:32where he's been 12 and a half,
01:33but he'll benefit Rashawn Gary
01:35because now he'll get the double teams
01:37and that could potentially open up
01:39Rashawn Gary to get more and be a factor.
01:42I think this defense obviously needed him.
01:45Yeah.
01:45You know, it was a perfect fit, I think,
01:47for the Green Bay Packers.
01:49I think they now could contend
01:51for potentially an NFC North title
01:53with the Detroit Lions,
01:55but expecting them to have a defense to challenge
01:58and I keep going back to go toe-to-toe
02:01with Philadelphia.
02:01I just, he's not that big of an impact player
02:04in my opinion.
02:05They're gonna need a lot more than Micah Parsons
02:08to challenge the Eagles to win a Super Bowl
02:10or an NFC championship.
02:12I am not in on Green Bay like you
02:14to the Super Bowl.
02:16But it has to be, right?
02:17Oh, oh, oh, 100%.
02:19But I was somebody who wasn't in.
02:22So there were some who were considering Green Bay
02:24to win a Super Bowl pre-Parsons trade
02:26and most people, Joe,
02:28had them comfortably in the playoffs
02:29pre-Parsons trade.
02:31I checked neither box.
02:32I'm lower on Green Bay.
02:34Two key guys that everybody loves
02:36in Jordan Love and Matt LaFleur.
02:39Jordan Love has some interception issues,
02:42especially in key moments.
02:43I think he just got picked off again in the link.
02:46Can we check?
02:46I think, did he?
02:47Did he just throw another one?
02:48Because that's how their season keeps ending.
02:50And LaFleur, I understand,
02:53had an upset on the road in Dallas as a seven seed.
02:58He also kept getting upset at home
03:01as the one seed with MVP Aaron Rodgers.
03:05Why is that all Aaron Rodgers' fault?
03:08I don't, what's the math on that?
03:09Last year, they weren't like 14 and a half point underdogs
03:13against the Philadelphia Eagles.
03:14No.
03:15They scored 10 points.
03:17He's an offensive guy.
03:18Right.
03:19So I have questions around Green Bay
03:22that Parsons helps a lot,
03:25but I still have too many to get to a Super Bowl side of it.
03:28But I got to tell you, Joe,
03:29I probably have even more questions
03:31on the Detroit side of this game.
03:33And I am betting the Green Bay Packers.
03:35I'm laying one and a half point,
03:36which you can get out there right now.
03:37The number's bouncing around between one and a half
03:39and two and a half.
03:40I am laying one and a half here on Green Bay.
03:42The Detroit Lions turnover, okay, year over year.
03:47It was something that I think we talked about a lot
03:49when it happened, a lot over the off season.
03:53I feel like not a lot heading into this game.
03:55They lost multiple starters on that offensive line.
03:58They've always had an incredible offensive line.
04:00You check offensive line rankings year over year.
04:03Philly, Detroit, Philly, Detroit.
04:05That's not the case anymore.
04:06They're outside of the top 10
04:07in a lot of these offensive line rankings we see.
04:10Owen Ben Johnson is gone now
04:12in division with the Chicago Bears.
04:14And, oh, Aaron Glenn is now with the New York Jets.
04:17While I think the defensive side of the ball
04:19for the Lions will be better,
04:20I still have enough questions
04:22to lay one and a half at home with the Green Bay Packers.
04:25I would lay it with Green Bay.
04:27It's not a game I'm going to be bet
04:28or a best bet for me,
04:30but I would still lay it with Green Bay
04:31because I do want to see how they look
04:33from an offensive perspective, to your point.
04:35I do believe the defense is a little bit better.
04:39Again, it wouldn't shock me, though,
04:41if the Lions pull this game out.
04:43And I'll just say this.
04:45You're right about the OC and the DC.
04:47I brought this up about the Philadelphia Eagles
04:49right after they went to the Super Bowl, right?
04:51They raced out to a 10-1 overall record
04:54and then 1-5 in the final six games
04:56of the regular season get smacked around by Tampa Bay.
04:59So, is the inconsistency potentially for Detroit
05:02coming in the early part of the year
05:04or maybe down the final stretch run?
05:06I think it's definitely an alarming factor
05:09of why I'm not all in on Detroit.
05:12I do feel they could regress
05:14to potentially a 10-win football team.
05:17And that's a regression going from a 14-win football team
05:20that was number one seed in the conference
05:22to now 10 wins because they're in a tougher division.
05:26Teams got better.
05:26Green Bay got better.
05:28We think Chicago will be better with Ben Johnson
05:30and Caleb Williams in year number two.
05:33But again, you know,
05:35they do have better offensive weapons than Green Bay.
05:39I mean, Golden is going to potentially step up.
05:42Tucker Craft, okay, good.
05:44I still think Laporte is better.
05:46I think Jamison Williams, St. Brown
05:47are much better than what you have on Green Bay's side.
05:51Who's a better quarterback?
05:52Jared Goff.
