00:00:00Tampa Bay Buccaneers start the year off running to Atlanta.
00:00:03Not sure if they need a check balance,
00:00:05but pretty sure they are looking to make an early statement to their division rival.
00:00:13That rival? The Falcons of the ATL.
00:00:16Dirty Birds ready to see if the Michael Penix era is going to rise up sooner rather than later.
00:00:21Penix got to cut it loose. Up in the pocket to his left.
00:00:23Mike at the five. Looks. Mike tucks. Dives! That's a touchdown!
00:00:27No need trying to bring up too much from the past.
00:00:30We don't really have one to dwell on when it comes to week one, right?
00:00:33It's more about what to watch for out of the gate.
00:00:36So here are 14 options you can choose from.
00:00:39Hell of a job, man. Holding up there in the end.
00:00:41Offense, scratching, closing. Good team win.
00:00:43Which QB are we talking about after this game?
00:00:47First key to watch for Michael Penix, the unknown. Sort of.
00:00:51Not a rookie. Sort of.
00:00:53Does he take Atlanta's offense to new heights or just sort of?
00:00:56Throws. End zone. It is caught! Kyle Pitts! Touchdown Atlanta!
00:01:02Tampa's new offensive coordinator's touch on Captain Jack as key number two.
00:01:06Baker Mayfield regrets nothing, ever.
00:01:09Sure has looked comfy steering their pirate ship.
00:01:12Question is, will he steer it as well?
00:01:14With new O.C. Josh Grizzard.
00:01:16It's a caught ball! Touchdown Tampa Bay!
00:01:19Mayfield threw three touchdowns in each game versus Atlanta last year for what that's worth.
00:01:24Baker's boys cover our next few keys.
00:01:26Automatic Mike at three.
00:01:28Evans begins his personal treasure hunt.
00:01:30Not looking for gold, but it's 12th straight 1,000 plus yard season.
00:01:35And FYI, his last three week won games.
00:01:38Good for 60 plus yards and at least one score in each.
00:01:42He's got Evans! Touchdown Tampa Bay!
00:01:44Key four. Tampa Bay's injured wideout room.
00:01:47Chris Godwin hurt.
00:01:48So is Jalen McMillan.
00:01:50That put puts extra pressure on Emeka Egbuka, who makes his debut first-round draft pick.
00:01:55Emeka Egbuka in the end zone.
00:01:57Eccles in coverage.
00:01:59Egbuka has that one and it's a touchdown.
00:02:01And don't forget Tampa's backs.
00:02:03They represent key number five.
00:02:05They are key to their passing strategy.
00:02:07Rashad White will see his targets,
00:02:09as will Bucky Irving, who turned in a monster rookie year for them.
00:02:13His effectiveness on the ground could play a major role in this game,
00:02:17and the year for that matter.
00:02:19Can you hang that bench off?
00:02:20Get your ass in the end zone.
00:02:22How the fuck you ain't get in?
00:02:23Yeah, I got in, but I reached the ball, because I knew it.
00:02:26Let's stay with backs for key number six,
00:02:28though you can argue B. John Robinson is this game's first or second most important key.
00:02:34Whether as a receiver or on handoffs,
00:02:37he's the Falcons' top weapon, as dangerous as it gets with the ball in his hands.
00:02:41B. John Robinson, touchdown Atlanta!
00:02:44Levante B. John then makes a nice seventh key.
00:02:47It's not really a mono-a-mono kind of deal,
00:02:49but a big game from David would go a long way in slowing Robinson.
00:02:53Now, ball is stripped, loose, Bucs recover!
00:02:57Levante David came on the blitz and forced the fumble.
00:03:00Key number eight, tight end Kyle Pitts.
00:03:02Receivers Darnell Mooney and Drake London versus Tampa Bay's secondary.
00:03:07Bucs didn't tinker much with their DB room in the offseason,
00:03:10so Pennix will be trying to beat Jamel Dean, Tykee Smith, and Zion McCollum again.
00:03:15All of them were solid last year.
00:03:17Zion McCollum delivers with his first pick of the season on play number one today!
00:03:23But not necessarily when they played Atlanta's receivers.
00:03:26In their 2024 face-offs,
00:03:28the Bucs struggled with Atlanta's top three non-Bajon Falcons pass catchers.
00:03:33He's gonna launch and Mooney hangs on!
00:03:35Touchdown Atlanta!
00:03:38Atlanta's new-look defense, key number nine.
00:03:40They were not a good D last year.
00:03:42They have four new starters,
00:03:44plus at least two other noobs that will see plenty of action.
00:03:47Safety Xavier Watts debuts, third rounder.
00:03:51Mayfield has him and safety Jesse Bates to worry about.
00:03:54And Jesse Bates, the safety, comes up with the big play.
00:03:58And they may actually get some help from their front.
00:04:01Key number ten, Atlanta's revamped pass rush.
00:04:04We get to see edge rusher Jalen Walker for the first time.
00:04:08He was a first-rounder.
00:04:09So was James Pierce.
00:04:11And Leonard Floyd makes his debut with the Birds after signing a big free agent deal.
00:04:15Bosa and Floyd combining.
00:04:18They are gonna have to beat a tough Tampa Bay offensive line.
00:04:21Not easy to bag Baker.
00:04:23Atlanta's O-line, also one of the better ones in the game.
00:04:26And they will throw down with our 11th key,
00:04:28Tampa Bay's semi-new-look QB hunting unit.
00:04:31They weren't super adept at finding their way home last year,
00:04:35but they signed Hassan Reddick, who is usually good for double-digit visits to mom.
00:04:39It's the front, led by Hassan Reddick.
00:04:42No matter who is on the field,
00:04:43Pennix has to know that the Bulls' blitz will be coming.
00:04:46Key number twelve, how well does Pennix handle five-plus pass rushers
00:04:50coming at him at least half the time he drops back?
00:04:53He did have all-off season to prepare.
00:04:55Pressure on Mahomes, and he is wrapped up eventually.
00:05:01Coming in at 13, Cade Otten, Buck's tight end.
00:05:04He's their X-factor.
00:05:06Baker loves him, has improved each year he's been in the show.
00:05:09It is caught by Cade Otten.
00:05:11And for our last extra point, we go kicker.
00:05:14Atlanta's young Hoku seemed like a lock when he booted it in 2023,
00:05:19but he was kind of wonky last year.
00:05:21Let's see what kind of read we get on him out of the gate.
00:05:24One way through for the tie.
00:05:26It's fading off the upright.
00:05:29This is NFC Dirty South football between two teams that are expecting
00:05:34to wear the division crown when it's all said and done.
00:05:37This head-to-head matchup could easily play a huge role
00:05:40in determining who pulls that feet off.
00:05:42Underrated week one game.
00:05:44Game preview guy back in the bag for another season.
00:05:47Here to provide fans a safe space from talking heads in their hot takes.
00:05:51I'm no expert or analyst, and I'm not smart enough to know how to use AI,
00:05:56so it's still an actual person mispronouncing names each week.
00:06:00But you guys always correct me.
00:06:02I see it in the comments section with your takes on the game and predictions.
00:06:06You all, in the end, are the only football geniuses these previews need.
00:06:10Welcome back to you, and welcome back another NFL season.
00:06:14Are you serious?
00:06:31The Steelers' 2024 week one starter, Justin Fields,
00:06:35now the Jets' 2025 starter,
00:06:37facing off with New York's 2024 starter,
00:06:41who is now Pittsburgh's 2025 starter.
00:06:44The best crossover episode since BoJack and Mr. Peanutbutter, am I right?
00:06:48Let's go! Let's go!
00:06:49Could just go Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy, too,
00:06:52if you're into a more straightforward analogy.
00:06:54This, though, is the 2025 premiere episode for both these teams and their fans.
00:06:59Might be the final season for Aaron Rodgers.
00:07:02Most eyeballs are going to be on him in this one.
00:07:04Let the swan song begin.
00:07:06What was your response when you're like,
00:07:08all right, my first game as the Steelers quarterback
00:07:10is going to be at Jet Life Stadium
00:07:12against the administration who released me.
00:07:14That's the way I go sometimes, you know?
00:07:16Of course.
00:07:17Now, did they have any inside information?
00:07:20I don't know.
00:07:21Who were they talking to?
00:07:22I'd love to know.
00:07:23Key number two of the 14 on our ring,
00:07:26Fields' debut in green,
00:07:27and thus will begin his quest to make Pittsburgh and Chicago
00:07:30look foolish for cutting bait too soon.
00:07:32On the move, and room to go, and he's tight!
00:07:36Touchdown!
00:07:36Third up, the A-Raw-DK combo meal.
00:07:39Metcalf makes his first start in black and gold.
00:07:42Had the same kind of numbers as George Pickens last year.
00:07:45Can he make a bigger impact than George?
00:07:47Got DK in the backfield!
00:07:48He's got it!
00:07:49Ping-pong back to New York's Garrett Wilson for key number four.
00:07:53Wilson has taken passes from Jadinklage,
00:07:55Morgun, and X-Wing-Aliciousness over the years.
00:07:58Fields, and QB, he will have worked with.
00:08:01This is his fourth year in the game.
00:08:03Fields did help DJ Moore go for 1,300-plus yards
00:08:06a couple seasons ago for what it's worth.
00:08:08I mean, just one of the sickest catches I've ever seen.
00:08:11That's a touchdown.
00:08:12Listen, the only way I can describe this
00:08:14is think of the Michael Jordan emblem.
00:08:16That's what Garrett Wilson looked like catching this football.
00:08:18Neither teams, WR2 and 3s, jump off the screen,
00:08:22or haven't just yet.
00:08:23TJ Watt does, though,
00:08:25being he fires off the right side almost exclusively.
00:08:28He's going to squabble up with New York's first-rounder,
00:08:30right tackle Armand Membu.
00:08:32May as well see what he's got right out of the game.
00:08:35That was a sack, a forced fumble,
00:08:37and a fumble recovery as TJ Watt makes the play.
00:08:41The other trench battles on this side,
00:08:44because New York also has to handle Cam Hayward,
00:08:47Alex Highsmith on the other edge.
00:08:49Alex Highsmith has number two on the night.
00:08:51Battle up front the other way around,
00:08:53also a key to the game.
00:08:55Jets will roll Quinn and Williams,
00:08:57Jermaine Johnson, Will McDonald,
00:08:59among others at Rodgers.
00:09:01Their linebackers, Jamie and Sherwood,
00:09:03and Quincy Williams,
00:09:04both good blitzers, too.
00:09:05Nowhere to go, Quincy Williams with a big play.
00:09:08Brees Hall up next has shown he can be an elite back
00:09:11as a pass catcher, too.
00:09:12If the game is close,
00:09:14he's going to see plenty of action.
00:09:15Leaping attempt.
00:09:16Wow.
00:09:16Pittsburgh's new-look rush attack,
00:09:19checking in at number eight.
00:09:20No more nausea.
00:09:22Third-round pick Caleb Johnson in line to take his workload.
00:09:25Jalen Warren still the change-up back.
00:09:28Touchdown, Pittsburgh Steelers!
00:09:29Key number nine and ten,
00:09:31the new tight ends.
00:09:32Jets' second-rounder Mason Taylor debuts,
00:09:35and the Steelers' new Smith makes his first Steelers start.
00:09:38Both dudes are in line to maybe see the second-most looks
00:09:41on their respective squads.
00:09:43Yeah!
00:09:43Cornerbacks.
00:09:45Jets have sauce to pour on to DK if they want.
00:09:48He spent most of his time on the right side of the field last year,
00:09:51but he did travel some,
00:09:52and with no DJ Reed anymore,
00:09:54and Metcalf easily being their best wideout,
00:09:57maybe Gardner shadows him a little more.
00:09:59Kaff against Gardner,
00:10:01and it's incomplete,
00:10:02it's fourth and goal.
00:10:03Jalen Ramsey is a jet setter.
00:10:05He'll go anywhere with anyone.
00:10:07This is his first game as a terrible toweler,
00:10:10so don't be shocked to see him on Garrett quite a bit.
00:10:12Ramsey untouched,
00:10:14coming off the edge.
00:10:15But even when he doesn't draw Ramsey,
00:10:17he could get newcomer Darius Slay,
00:10:19or Joey Porter Jr.
00:10:22Intercepted!
00:10:23Finally, keys 13 and 14.
00:10:25Who else shows up offensively aside from the bigger names?
00:10:29Steelers have the likes of Roman Wilson,
00:10:31Calvin Austin,
00:10:32and Pat Friermuth,
00:10:34and Friermuth is in!
00:10:35who they'll trot out.
00:10:37Gang Green hoping someone like Josh Reynolds
00:10:39or Alan Lazard can make a difference.
00:10:41It's a Hail Mary touchdown to Alan Lazard
00:10:44before halftime!
00:10:45I am not a key to this game.
00:10:47I'm just game preview guy.
00:10:49Hey, there are worse things
00:10:50than being a dude in a bag talking football,
00:10:52but I am here to spark conversations
00:10:54that you all take part in
00:10:55in the comments section,
00:10:57so talk amongst yourselves,
00:10:59and check out our panel of 10 picks,
00:11:01which is how we like to close these out.
00:11:03So glad the season is finally back.
00:11:06Top shelf matchup.
00:11:29Five stars.
00:11:30A plus.
00:11:31Call it what you want.
00:11:32This is a primo week one throwdown.
00:11:34Green Bay Packers at home to kick off 2025
00:11:37with Micah Parsons wearing a cheesehead,
00:11:40taking on the reigning kings of the NFC North,
00:11:42the Detroit Lions.
00:11:44Don't care what time of year it is,
00:11:46what the record is,
00:11:47what the weather is.
00:11:48Where do you start?
00:11:49Aiden's back?
00:11:50Both Detroit's offense and defense
00:11:52under new management?
00:11:53Jordan Love having a first-round wideout to work with.
00:11:57Who said I won good?
00:11:58Let's begin with Detroit's offense,
00:11:59which save a couple of linemen,
00:12:01is working with the same cast of characters,
00:12:03a cast of characters that outpaced
00:12:05the second-highest scoring team
00:12:07by three points per game last year.
00:12:09At the end of the day,
00:12:10that's our baseline, man.
00:12:12New OC John Morton,
00:12:13therefore has some pressure to show
00:12:15that their offensive engine
00:12:16is just as powerful as last year's model.
00:12:19Jared Goff has more touchdown catches
00:12:22than incompletion.
00:12:24Jared Goff had looked pretty good
00:12:25with Ben Johnson in his ear the last few seasons,
00:12:28barring any drop-off Packers secondary
00:12:30still trying to slow a top-five QB.
00:12:33Play hands.
00:12:34I love my slow hands.
00:12:35Now, he has to try and bang a good game out
00:12:38with Micah Parsons chasing him around.
00:12:40Let's get another turnover.
00:12:41Another stop deep.
00:12:43Micah's addition certainly sends the Pack's defense
00:12:45to a whole nother level.
00:12:47Their offense, Jordan Love only has two weak ones
00:12:50starts under his belt.
00:12:51Didn't get to see if Tesla was right last year
00:12:53because he got hurt before the game ended.
00:12:56So who knows if Jordan would have found a way
00:12:58in that one,
00:12:59but he's certainly found a way in plenty of others.
00:13:01Watson there!
00:13:03Touchdown!
00:13:03Love will find a way.
00:13:05And he has to try and do his thing
00:13:07with Aiden Hutchinson trying to chase him down.
00:13:10Aiden was on his way to a monster year in 2024
00:13:12when he got hurt.
00:13:14Detroit still searching for a Starsky,
00:13:16but Green Bay's line has its hands full
00:13:18with the Hutch even if he's working solo.
00:13:21They won't chip me.
00:13:22I'm like that.
00:13:23When Love has time,
00:13:24we'll see if he can hook up with his newbie
00:13:26first-round wideout Matthew Golden.
00:13:28I don't know if I've seen him drop a pass
00:13:31in the preseason so far.
00:13:32Is Golden gonna emerge as a WR1?
00:13:35The Packers' pass-catching approach
00:13:37has been committee-based the last few years,
00:13:39and Love is working with a large committee in this one.
00:13:42Third-round pick Savion Williams debuts,
00:13:45the rookies rolling out there with Romeo Dobbs,
00:13:47Dontavian Wicks,
00:13:49Christian Watson,
00:13:50and Jaden Reed.
00:13:51Do I look good?
00:13:52Tight end Tucker Craft,
00:13:53a solid option as well.
00:13:55What are you waiting for?
00:13:57I don't know.
00:13:58Something amazing?
00:13:59It's a deep group.
00:14:00So that brings us to the Kelvin Shepard-run Lions defense.
00:14:04He too has pressure to hold the line at the very least.
00:14:06You can make the game any way you want it to go.
00:14:08Because Detroit's secondary was one of 2024's best,
00:14:12despite dealing with all sorts of injuries.
00:14:15Ten of their 11 starters in this one were Lions last year,
00:14:18and new cornerback DJ Reed is only supposed to make them better.
00:14:22Safety Kirby Joseph comes off a career year.
00:14:25Brian Branch,
00:14:26Terryon Arnold,
00:14:27Amik Robertson,
00:14:28Love shouldn't waste time trying to find a Waldo,
00:14:31because they don't appear to have one.
00:14:33Truth is, though,
00:14:35Detroit's linebackers better be on high alert.
00:14:37Jack Campbell,
00:14:38Alex Anzalone,
00:14:39and Derek Barnes,
00:14:40and first-round DT Ty Williams,
00:14:43who makes his debut,
00:14:44have to be ready for Josh Jacobs.
00:14:46Pac relied heavily on Jacobs and the run game last year,
00:14:50and he was more than up for the workload.
00:14:52Oh!
00:14:53Come on, eh?
00:14:55Yeah!
00:14:56Jacobs' six week one tilts in his career,
00:14:59never over 100 yards,
00:15:00but does have a couple solid showings following summer break.
00:15:04Detroit's high-powered O is typically powered by its rush attack as well.
00:15:08I love watching you play.
00:15:09I'm just sitting on the bench since this.
00:15:12If they use Sonic and Knuckles in similar fashion as last year,
00:15:15David Montgomery and Jameer Gibbs will both factor heavily in this one.
00:15:19It's a foot race down the left sideline!
00:15:21So Packers linebackers Edge Cooper and Quay Walker
00:15:24have to have themselves a game to contain that duo.
00:15:27To a sack!
00:15:29Who will be running behind a new-look Detroit offensive line.
00:15:32They're debuting second-round guard Tate Ratledge.
00:15:35They bring back those tackles, though.
00:15:37Taylor Decker and Panay Sewell,
00:15:39who should make it tough on cheesehead edge rushers.
00:15:42Hey! We physical all day!
00:15:44Micah's arrival is great news for Green Bay's pass rush,
00:15:48makes Rashawn Gary even harder to deal with.
00:15:50He's in trouble and he is dropped!
00:15:52Rashawn Gary!
00:15:53Gary, Lucas Van Ness, Devontae Wyatt hoping to assist,
00:15:57maybe a little Kingsley and Iqbari.
00:15:59If they struggle to hurry Goff,
00:16:01then his mates have an easier time eating.
00:16:03Amonra St. Brown,
00:16:05The grab! Touchdown Detroit Lions!
00:16:08Jamison Williams,
00:16:09He's going to the house!
00:16:10and Sam Laporta.
00:16:11That was alright, wasn't it?
00:16:13Gibbs as a pass catcher can be lethal as well,
00:16:15taking on a Packers secondary,
00:16:17headed by safety Xavier McKinney,
00:16:19career year in 2024.
00:16:21Over the middle, intercepted!
00:16:23Newcomer Nate Hobbs, former Raider debuts,
00:16:26out there with Javon Bullard and Keyshawn Nixon, etc.
00:16:28Head coach Matt LaFleur,
00:16:313-3 after a summer off,
00:16:32has won his last two.
00:16:34Oh my god!
00:16:35Dan Campbell, 2-2 with Detroit in that scenario,
00:16:38also has won his last two.
00:16:40This is not happenstance, man!
00:16:42This doesn't just happenstance!
00:16:43What does that all pencil out to?
00:16:45Week ones are always hard to predict,
00:16:47but that's why I have you guys
00:16:49to tell me how it might go.
00:16:51And you do that in the comments section
00:16:53along with any notes or analysis
00:16:54you think are relevant.
00:16:56Game Preview Guy, back in the Game Preview Zone,
00:16:59which is analyst-free.
00:17:00No talking heads here,
00:17:02just a talking bag setting you guys up.
00:17:04And our panel of 10,
00:17:06which is back in full force.
00:17:07Let's get it on already!
00:17:09Football is back, baby!
00:17:26Houston Texans visit SoFi Stadium
00:17:46for the first time ever,
00:17:47taking on the LA Rams
00:17:49in a week one showdown
00:17:50between two playoff teams
00:17:51from a year ago.
00:17:52Matthew Stafford,
00:18:00CJ Stroud.
00:18:01It's not like Stafford
00:18:02was playing in the NFL
00:18:03when CJ was born,
00:18:05but Stroud is playing the role
00:18:06of Clarence to Matthew's Jackie Moon.
00:18:09They were semi-pros,
00:18:10these dudes are not.
00:18:12Back to the ear for Stroud.
00:18:13Stroud, end zone, caught!
00:18:15And neither are the receivers
00:18:17that Houston's secondary
00:18:18is going to squabble up with,
00:18:19and that's where we start with this one.
00:18:21The new-look Rams passing attack
00:18:23made up of Puka Nakua
00:18:24and Devontae Adams
00:18:26versus Houston's stout cornerback trio,
00:18:29Adams making his Rams debut.
00:18:32Devontae Adams, touchdown!
00:18:34Think the Taco Bell worker
00:18:35moves with Adams each time?
00:18:37Adams 55-plus yards
00:18:39in his last five week one games,
00:18:41couple triple-digit showings mixed in.
00:18:43He's pairing with Puka
00:18:44for the first time,
00:18:46who was on his way
00:18:47to another monster year
00:18:48when he went down hurt.
00:18:49Puka's got it!
00:18:50He finds his way in!
00:18:52Those two will line up
00:18:53against Jalen Petrie,
00:18:54Kamari Lasseter,
00:18:56and Derek Stingley,
00:18:57who represent one of the best
00:18:58corner trios in the land.
00:19:00It's just not a lot of fans realize it.
00:19:02Stingley already made his way
00:19:04into the who's the best
00:19:05corner going debate.
00:19:06He was step for step,
00:19:08but arguably the fastest player
00:19:11in the NFL.
00:19:13Kalen Bullock back there as well,
00:19:14hoping to make things difficult
00:19:16for old man Stafford.
00:19:17He's put up 240-334 yards
00:19:20in his last four week one showings.
00:19:23He's been solid to good
00:19:24in three of the last four,
00:19:25basically,
00:19:26has a 90.3 week one rating
00:19:28over his 16 years.
00:19:30Let's come after Stafford.
00:19:31It's bobbled up.
00:19:32He throws middle.
00:19:33Caught by Cooper Cubs!
00:19:34Stafford also has the likes
00:19:35of tight end Tyler Higbee,
00:19:37rookie tight end Jake Ferguson
00:19:38making his debut,
00:19:40and Tutu Atwell,
00:19:41who might be in line
00:19:42for a little more action this year
00:19:44if you believe Sean McVay.
00:19:45He didn't make Tutu Atwell,
00:19:47but this is almost Willie Mays-ish.
00:19:49Houston's D isn't a butter face.
00:19:52Their front just as nice
00:19:53to look at as its backside.
00:19:54Will Anderson off one edge,
00:19:56Daniil hunting off the other.
00:19:58Look out!
00:19:58Here they come!
00:20:00Hunter knocked it away!
00:20:01They'll do battle
00:20:02with right tackle Rob Havenstein,
00:20:04left tackle Alaric Jackson,
00:20:06LA's line working with
00:20:07Kyron Williams at running back.
00:20:09He's run for 50 and 52 yards
00:20:12in week one the last two years
00:20:13scored in both those openers.
00:20:15Kyron Williams diving straight ahead
00:20:18for a hat trick!
00:20:19Awaiting him,
00:20:20newbie linebacker EJ Speed,
00:20:22a free agent pickup,
00:20:23former Colt,
00:20:24tackle monster,
00:20:25Aziz Alshire,
00:20:26and my man Henry T,
00:20:28which is how you should know
00:20:29this ain't AI.
00:20:30It would try and say his name.
00:20:32Bounces around
00:20:33and Henry Toa Toa.
00:20:35LA's linebackers
00:20:36won't be the ones
00:20:37on high alert though.
00:20:38It's about their fearsome
00:20:39foursome 2.0
00:20:41trying to disrupt Stroud.
00:20:42CJ only has two week one
00:20:44contests on his resume,
00:20:46a dud as a rookie,
00:20:47a gem last year.
00:20:48CJ stepping to his left,
00:20:50throws to the end zone,
00:20:51caught!
00:20:52His duds tend to be tied
00:20:53to that O-line of his
00:20:54which no longer features
00:20:56Laramie Tunsil.
00:20:57Right now we're playing naked.
00:20:58Let's play our game.
00:21:00They have several new big bodies
00:21:02up front to protect CJ,
00:21:04combined with the debut
00:21:05of their new OC,
00:21:06Nick Caley.
00:21:06Yeah!
00:21:07They get tested
00:21:09by one of the best fronts around,
00:21:11Braden Fisk,
00:21:12Kobe Turner,
00:21:13Byron Young,
00:21:14Jared Verse,
00:21:15youngsters the lot of them,
00:21:17and only getting better.
00:21:18It brings so much energy,
00:21:20so much violence
00:21:21to this defense.
00:21:22If they can't disrupt Stroud,
00:21:24then he's going to have
00:21:24an easier time
00:21:25finding Nico Collins,
00:21:27their WR1,
00:21:2880 and 117 yards
00:21:30in his last two
00:21:31week one performances.
00:21:32Touchdown,
00:21:33Nico Collins!
00:21:34Who else, though?
00:21:35Rams DBs tracking two rooks,
00:21:38second rounder
00:21:38Jaden Higgins debuts,
00:21:40as does third rounder
00:21:41Jalen Noel,
00:21:42and Christian Kirk
00:21:43puts on the bull
00:21:44for the first time
00:21:45after all those years
00:21:46playing against them
00:21:47as a Jag.
00:21:47Caught by Christian Kirk
00:21:49near the pylon!
00:21:51Touchdown!
00:21:51Tight end Dalton Schultz,
00:21:52an option as well,
00:21:54stacked up against
00:21:54a Rams secondary
00:21:55made up of all
00:21:56LA 2024 returnees,
00:21:59Kobe Durant,
00:22:00Darius Williams,
00:22:01Cam Curl,
00:22:02Cam Kinchins,
00:22:03Quentin Lake,
00:22:04and Akella Witherspoon
00:22:05will all see
00:22:06plenty of snaps.
00:22:08Intercepted!
00:22:09Off the chest
00:22:09of the attended target!
00:22:11When Stroud
00:22:11hands the rock off,
00:22:13Nick Chubb,
00:22:14Damian Pierce
00:22:15will be waiting,
00:22:16Joe Mixon
00:22:16on the shelf heard.
00:22:17Happy to see you
00:22:18back out there, home.
00:22:18Rams had trouble
00:22:19stopping the run
00:22:20in 2024.
00:22:21Added defensive tackle
00:22:22Puna Ford up front,
00:22:24former charger,
00:22:25also picked up
00:22:26linebacker Nate Landman
00:22:27to line up next
00:22:28to Omar Spates.
00:22:29They're incredibly close,
00:22:32right there,
00:22:32punched out.
00:22:33McVeigh,
00:22:346-2 record
00:22:35on opening week.
00:22:36You guys did that
00:22:37and it took all
00:22:37four quarters,
00:22:38man, give it up
00:22:39for yourselves right there.
00:22:40D'Amico Ryans,
00:22:411-1 in his short tenure.
00:22:43What else are you
00:22:44watching for?
00:22:45Game Preview Bar
00:22:46is open for business
00:22:47again,
00:22:47so get busy
00:22:48in the comments section.
00:22:50Analysis and predictions
00:22:51all welcome.
00:22:52Game Preview Guy
00:22:53back pouring
00:22:54the preview drinks,
00:22:55and while I might
00:22:56miss a pour or two
00:22:57here and there,
00:22:58the drinks here
00:22:59are never light
00:23:00on what counts.
00:23:01Panel of 10
00:23:02back to help
00:23:03paint a predictive
00:23:03picture for us
00:23:04as well.
00:23:05Season is here.
00:23:06It tastes so good
00:23:07when it hits your lips,
00:23:08right?
00:23:39Let's just get round one
00:23:49out of the way
00:23:50right away.
00:23:51NFC West rivalry
00:23:52take whatever.
00:23:53The 49ers head north
00:23:55week one,
00:23:55their offense once again
00:23:56fueled by Run CMC,
00:23:58and Seattle,
00:23:59whose offense is being
00:24:00fueled by an entirely
00:24:01new gasoline.
00:24:03Let's be great.
00:24:04Let's have fun.
00:24:04Go be you, bud.
00:24:05Where do you start
00:24:06in this one?
00:24:07How about the obvious
00:24:07so we can check the box?
00:24:09Christian McCaffrey
00:24:09is supposed to be 100
00:24:11again,
00:24:11and that's supposed
00:24:12to restore order
00:24:13to the 49ers offense.
00:24:15McCaffrey has a first
00:24:16down run to begin
00:24:17this drive.
00:24:17Next on the list,
00:24:19Seattle's new look
00:24:20O-face.
00:24:21Geno,
00:24:21DK,
00:24:22Locke,
00:24:22and Fant are so
00:24:232024.
00:24:2449ers defense gets
00:24:26a Seattle O featuring
00:24:27Sam Darnold and
00:24:28Cooper Cup.
00:24:29Sam making his
00:24:30regular season
00:24:30Hawk debut
00:24:31after a breakout
00:24:32year in Minnesota.
00:24:33He already has
00:24:34arm talent,
00:24:35but that arm talent
00:24:36becomes elite
00:24:37when he can be
00:24:38explosive in the
00:24:39play-action pass.
00:24:40Cup putting on
00:24:41the Hawk for the
00:24:42first time,
00:24:42not the first time
00:24:43he's scored in
00:24:44that stadium though.
00:24:45Cup at the six,
00:24:46Cup to the pylon.
00:24:47And of course,
00:24:48they have to shadow
00:24:49Seattle's true WR1,
00:24:51Jackson Smith and
00:24:52Jigba.
00:24:52Geno looks right
00:24:53to the back corner
00:24:54of the end zone,
00:24:55a perfect pass.
00:24:56The 49ers secondary,
00:24:58that trio,
00:24:59will do battle
00:24:59with Renardo Green,
00:25:01solid 2024,
00:25:02corner D'Amador
00:25:03Lenore their top
00:25:05dog.
00:25:05And then scoop
00:25:06back the other
00:25:06way and running
00:25:07back the other
00:25:08way, D'Amador
00:25:08Lenore.
00:25:09Safety help in
00:25:10the form of Jair
00:25:11Brown and newcomer
00:25:12Jason Pinnock,
00:25:13who will bank on
00:25:14Nick Bosa and
00:25:15company to hurry
00:25:15Darnold along.
00:25:16It's a trifecta
00:25:18by Nick Bosa.
00:25:19Bosa flanked by
00:25:19two rookies in
00:25:20this one, DT
00:25:21Alfred Collins,
00:25:22their second rounder,
00:25:24defensive end
00:25:24Mikel Williams,
00:25:25their first.
00:25:26You not wearing
00:25:27red between these
00:25:28lines?
00:25:28Uh-oh,
00:25:29you getting smoked.
00:25:29You getting smoked.
00:25:30Seattle added
00:25:31Gray Zabel to
00:25:32its line via
00:25:33a first round
00:25:332024 pick.
00:25:35He's making his
00:25:35debut on a line
00:25:36that struggled
00:25:37to protect the
00:25:38QB last year.
00:25:39Other four guys
00:25:40are returnees.
00:25:41Rush on,
00:25:42tight pocket,
00:25:43hit and sack.
00:25:44When Seattle
00:25:45runs,
00:25:45Kenneth Walker,
00:25:46Zach Charbonnet
00:25:47toking the rock.
00:25:48Charbonnet was
00:25:49more efficient last
00:25:50year.
00:25:50Walker,
00:25:51though,
00:25:51a big rebound
00:25:52candidate.
00:25:52A one-yard
00:25:53touchdown run
00:25:54by Walker.
00:25:5549ers weren't
00:25:56great at stopping
00:25:56the run last
00:25:57season.
00:25:58Collins and
00:25:58Williams are
00:25:59supposed to
00:25:59help on that
00:26:00front,
00:26:00which would
00:26:01help Fred
00:26:01Warner do
00:26:02his thing
00:26:03behind them.
00:26:03Fred gets
00:26:04up and
00:26:04runs back
00:26:05the other
00:26:05way.
00:26:05Back to
00:26:06where we
00:26:06started now.
00:26:07San Francisco's
00:26:08offense,
00:26:08more than
00:26:09just the
00:26:09CMC Music
00:26:10Factory,
00:26:11BCB has
00:26:12to show
00:26:12too if
00:26:13their offense
00:26:14is going
00:26:14to click.
00:26:15They paid
00:26:15Brock Purdy
00:26:16to be more
00:26:16than just a
00:26:17trailer to
00:26:17McCaffrey's
00:26:18tractor.
00:26:21Doesn't
00:26:22have Debo
00:26:22in this one,
00:26:23but still has
00:26:24George Kittle,
00:26:25who you can
00:26:25claim as
00:26:26TE1 in
00:26:27the NFL if
00:26:27you want.
00:26:28His brother
00:26:31George might
00:26:32be in the
00:26:32stands too,
00:26:33I don't
00:26:33know.
00:26:34San Francisco's
00:26:35wideout room
00:26:35starts off
00:26:36kind of
00:26:36iffy,
00:26:37Brandon
00:26:37Ayuk is
00:26:38still hurt,
00:26:39Demarcus
00:26:39Robinson
00:26:40suspended,
00:26:41but they
00:26:41do have
00:26:41their top
00:26:422024
00:26:42wideout,
00:26:43Jawan
00:26:43Jennings,
00:26:44who comes
00:26:44off a
00:26:45career year.
00:26:46Jawan
00:26:46Jennings has
00:26:47a hat-trick!
00:26:48Ricky
00:26:48Pearsall
00:26:49comes off a
00:26:49remarkable
00:26:50rookie season
00:26:50based on
00:26:51what he
00:26:51went through.
00:26:52Ricky
00:26:52Pearsall
00:26:53trying to
00:26:53feed his
00:26:53man to the
00:26:54end zone.
00:26:54Pearsall
00:26:55and Jennings
00:26:55and whoever
00:26:56wins the
00:26:56third spot
00:26:57temporarily
00:26:58anyway,
00:26:59lined up
00:26:59against
00:26:59Reek,
00:27:00Spoon,
00:27:01Jobe,
00:27:01and second
00:27:02rounder
00:27:02Nick
00:27:02M and
00:27:03Worry,
00:27:03who makes
00:27:04his debut.
00:27:05Josh is the
00:27:06guy folks
00:27:06sleep on,
00:27:07partially because
00:27:08Woolen and
00:27:08Witherspoon are
00:27:09that good.
00:27:10Tighter windows
00:27:11and one of the
00:27:11tightest is where
00:27:12Purdy goes,
00:27:13Witherspoon the
00:27:14coverage.
00:27:15Kobe Bryant and
00:27:15Julian Love
00:27:16backing them up
00:27:17and helping with
00:27:17Kittle,
00:27:18and the guys
00:27:19hoping to hurry
00:27:19things along up
00:27:20front,
00:27:21newcomer Demarcus
00:27:22Lawrence,
00:27:22former Cowboy,
00:27:23Leonard Williams
00:27:24comes off a
00:27:25huge year,
00:27:26Byron Murphy
00:27:26looking to build
00:27:27off his rookie
00:27:28year,
00:27:29Boye Mafe is
00:27:30back,
00:27:30and Derek
00:27:31Hall,
00:27:31they can send
00:27:32dudes in waves.
00:27:35For the five
00:27:3749ers O-line
00:27:38members are
00:27:38dudes back from
00:27:392024,
00:27:40Trent Williams
00:27:41one of them,
00:27:42so long as he's
00:27:43still drinking from
00:27:43the fountain of
00:27:44youth he's
00:27:45apparently discovered,
00:27:46their line is a
00:27:47tough one to go
00:27:47after.
00:27:48So which matchups
00:27:51will matter most
00:27:52in this matchup?
00:27:54Your job is to
00:27:54identify them and
00:27:55explain yourself in
00:27:56the comments section.
00:27:58My job was to
00:27:59tee it all up for
00:28:00you.
00:28:00Just a doof in a
00:28:01bag,
00:28:01there is nothing
00:28:02artificial or
00:28:03intelligent about
00:28:04being game preview
00:28:04guy,
00:28:05so those who just
00:28:06assume everyone is
00:28:07using that tech,
00:28:08I'm sorry to
00:28:09disappoint you more
00:28:10than I already have.
00:28:11Who cares?
00:28:12You guys are back,
00:28:13football is back,
00:28:14our panel of 10
00:28:15is back,
00:28:16let's see who they
00:28:17like in round one
00:28:18of this NFC West
00:28:19showdown.
00:28:192025 kicks off with
00:28:47the battle for
00:28:48Ohio.
00:28:49Cleveland Browns open
00:28:50things up at the
00:28:51pound,
00:28:52dogs hoping they
00:28:53pick the right
00:28:53leader guy for
00:28:54their offense.
00:28:55We gotta fight,
00:28:56we're in for a fight,
00:28:57and that's what we
00:28:58want, we want to
00:28:59fight.
00:28:59They welcome the
00:29:00Cincinnati Bengals,
00:29:01who are looking to
00:29:02avoid repeating the
00:29:03mistake they made a
00:29:03year ago to open the
00:29:05season.
00:29:05That's why I was so
00:29:06tied, that makes sense.
00:29:07Here's the quote from
00:29:08a Bengals super fan
00:29:09prior to Cincinnati's
00:29:10opener in 2024,
00:29:12I know Bengals
00:29:13seasons usually start
00:29:14off slow, but
00:29:15please for the love
00:29:16of God, don't lose
00:29:18to the Patriots.
00:29:18New England
00:29:19shocks Cincinnati
00:29:20and wins it.
00:29:22So that's our first
00:29:23key to watch for in
00:29:24this game, week one
00:29:26Bengals.
00:29:27Head coach Zach
00:29:27Taylor hasn't won a
00:29:28season opener three
00:29:29straight years, losing
00:29:31to the Pats last year,
00:29:32as well as to the
00:29:33Browns the year
00:29:34before.
00:29:35The same old story
00:29:36for the Cincinnati
00:29:37Bengals, another slow
00:29:39start to the season.
00:29:41How well Cleveland's
00:29:42retread tires handle
00:29:43will go a long way in
00:29:45determining if their
00:29:45streak will hit four.
00:29:47Joe Flacco, the QB
00:29:48whose Plinko chip came
00:29:49out the winner this
00:29:50offseason, with Shadur
00:29:52and Gabriel waiting in
00:29:53the wings, Flacco doesn't
00:29:54have a lot of room for
00:29:55error, though.
00:29:56We know everything
00:29:57about Joe Flacco.
00:29:58We all will love and
00:29:59respect Joe Flacco.
00:30:00I think he's on his
00:30:01eighth team in eight
00:30:02seasons.
00:30:03What is he going to be
00:30:03this year?
00:30:04He's going to be the
00:30:0420th best quarterback
00:30:05in the NFL?
00:30:06His counterpart is
00:30:07the key to every
00:30:08Bengals game, of course.
00:30:10Joe Burrow's resume is
00:30:11as good as it gets, but
00:30:12in their last three
00:30:13week one losses, he
00:30:14hasn't played well in
00:30:15any of them.
00:30:16Maybe now that he has
00:30:17a Batmobile, midseason
00:30:19Joe will arrive early
00:30:20this season.
00:30:21Guns it, deep down
00:30:22field, chases open,
00:30:23catches it to 30.
00:30:24If that's going to
00:30:25happen, Jamar, Tee,
00:30:27and Eoshi have to find
00:30:28a way to beat
00:30:29Cleveland's corners.
00:30:30Denzel Ward, Greg
00:30:31Newsome, that's key
00:30:33three.
00:30:33Cleveland's play versus
00:30:34the pass was not good
00:30:35last year.
00:30:36Four of their five
00:30:37DBs are the same.
00:30:39Martin Emerson is out.
00:30:40Their DC is the same.
00:30:42All three of Cincinnati's
00:30:43starting receivers scored
00:30:44versus Cleveland a season
00:30:46ago.
00:30:46Higgins in both games.
00:30:48What a snatch.
00:30:49Higgins.
00:30:50Chase in both games, too.
00:30:52To the end zone.
00:30:53Back shoulder to Chase.
00:30:55Burrow didn't have
00:30:56trouble in either outing,
00:30:57either.
00:30:57It's a different year,
00:30:59but the quarterback
00:30:59wide-out DB battle
00:31:01in this matchup
00:31:02isn't any different
00:31:03on paper.
00:31:04Will it be on the field
00:31:05or just more of the same?
00:31:07Oh, from the gun.
00:31:08Hit on the release.
00:31:09Gets it out.
00:31:10And gets it on time
00:31:12to chase.
00:31:13That gets us to the
00:31:14Miles Garrett impact
00:31:15as our fourth key.
00:31:17If there's one guy
00:31:17on Cleveland's defense
00:31:19that can tilt things,
00:31:20it's Garrett.
00:31:21He gets plenty of rest
00:31:22before the season, too.
00:31:23At least one sack
00:31:24in his last three
00:31:25straight week one contests,
00:31:26five in his last six,
00:31:28so he's a historically
00:31:29fast starter.
00:31:30Four straight seasons
00:31:31with 14 or more sacks.
00:31:33The others are key five.
00:31:36Garrett has to do
00:31:36a lot of shopping alone.
00:31:38Several new faces
00:31:39have arrived to help
00:31:40scare QBs,
00:31:41none of them Nicole Kidman.
00:31:42It's the Browns debut
00:31:44of DT Malik Collins,
00:31:45a free agent signing,
00:31:47as well as first-round pick
00:31:48Mason Graham.
00:31:50Why is the AI voiceover guy
00:31:52bringing Nicole Kidman into it?
00:31:53Bet he didn't even see
00:31:54the others.
00:31:59Browns pass rushers
00:32:00get in the cage
00:32:01with a Bengals O-line
00:32:02that once again
00:32:03has been tweaked.
00:32:04Two new guards
00:32:05part of the lineup.
00:32:06We still haven't seen Burrow
00:32:07with consistent good pass pro.
00:32:11T7, Jerry Judy.
00:32:13He's the go-to receiver
00:32:15for Cleveland.
00:32:16He's going to see
00:32:16a lot of Bengals double teams
00:32:18being Cleveland's
00:32:19other wideouts.
00:32:20Don't have reputations
00:32:21that are going to scare
00:32:22many secondaries.
00:32:23Judy's target total
00:32:24should be impressive
00:32:25this season.
00:32:28Browns other wideouts,
00:32:30Cedric Tillman,
00:32:31so you can see why
00:32:32tight end David Njoku
00:32:33is key number eight.
00:32:34He won't draw the same
00:32:35attention from Cincinnati's
00:32:36defense,
00:32:37but he won't be far behind.
00:32:42Cincinnati's new DC
00:32:43Al Golden
00:32:44is in charge of
00:32:45drawing up a plan
00:32:46to stop him.
00:32:47Bengals defense
00:32:48was blamed
00:32:48for their disappointing
00:32:492024.
00:32:50Couple of new faces
00:32:51added to the fold,
00:32:53but their starting 11
00:32:54is pretty much
00:32:55the same as last year.
00:32:56Al might not have
00:32:57to produce gold per se,
00:32:58but he's expected
00:32:59to produce better results.
00:33:00It's the end.
00:33:02Bengals take over.
00:33:03Key number 10.
00:33:04Bengals pass rush.
00:33:05Very similar to Cleveland's.
00:33:07Trey Hendrickson,
00:33:08they're miles.
00:33:09Others get more pub.
00:33:10Few ever seal the deal
00:33:12as often as he does,
00:33:13though.
00:33:13Hendrickson again.
00:33:15He, too,
00:33:15has a new
00:33:16first-round draft pick
00:33:17trying to help
00:33:17hurry Burrow.
00:33:18Defensive end
00:33:19Shamar Stewart debuts.
00:33:21Browns also have to
00:33:22worry about Joseph Asai
00:33:23who takes over
00:33:24as starter
00:33:24across from Hendrickson.
00:33:26Then Asai
00:33:27coming around
00:33:27the backside.
00:33:29Key 11,
00:33:29the Cleveland O-line
00:33:31trying to stave them off.
00:33:32Browns had an
00:33:33open-door policy
00:33:34to see their
00:33:34quarterbacks last year,
00:33:36and the five guys
00:33:37who will be out there
00:33:37this year,
00:33:38part of that problem.
00:33:40The actual signal
00:33:40callers were, too.
00:33:42And he's going down.
00:33:43At 12,
00:33:44Jerome Ford.
00:33:45Ford was plenty
00:33:46effective last year.
00:33:47It could be that
00:33:48Cleveland hits the
00:33:49Bengals with a
00:33:50heavy rush attack
00:33:51to slow things down,
00:33:52and it might be
00:33:53their best option
00:33:54to move the ball
00:33:54anyway.
00:33:55Jerome Ford
00:33:56down the sidelines!
00:33:58Bengals'
00:33:59offensive side piece,
00:34:00a.k.a.
00:34:01Chase Brown,
00:34:02if you will,
00:34:02key 13,
00:34:03isn't the best
00:34:04chase on the team,
00:34:05is often overlooked,
00:34:07turned to sometimes
00:34:08out of boredom,
00:34:09but usually comes
00:34:10through without
00:34:10complaining.
00:34:11Rolls into the end zone!
00:34:12He's the perfect
00:34:13side piece.
00:34:14He will see plenty
00:34:15of new Cleveland
00:34:16linebacker Carson
00:34:17Schwestinger,
00:34:18drafted in the
00:34:18second round,
00:34:19who will also chase
00:34:20Mike Gesicki around.
00:34:22Bengals' tight end
00:34:22is our final key.
00:34:24Like Chase Brown,
00:34:25isn't always in the
00:34:26spotlight,
00:34:26but Cleveland doesn't
00:34:27want him filling in
00:34:28key gaps in the game
00:34:29with the kind of big
00:34:30catches he came up
00:34:31with last year.
00:34:33There it is!
00:34:33Yes!
00:34:34That's not everything,
00:34:36of course.
00:34:36What else do you think
00:34:37will factor?
00:34:39Game previews are a
00:34:40collaborative effort.
00:34:41The only experts that
00:34:42matter here are the
00:34:43actual fans.
00:34:44So take care of the
00:34:45written component for
00:34:46me, will ya?
00:34:47I'm Game Preview Guy,
00:34:48and I'll again be taking
00:34:49care of the video portion
00:34:50this season.
00:34:51NFL can't afford AI.
00:34:53It's a mom and pop
00:34:53outfit.
00:34:54So, they still have a
00:34:55doof in a bag handling
00:34:56it, and I still have
00:34:58ten pickers to give us
00:34:59an idea of how the game
00:35:00will turn out.
00:35:01Welcome back,
00:35:02everyone.
00:35:02Let's do this!
00:35:03The 2025 NFL season is
00:35:05finally upon us.
00:36:30If a rebellion can rely on a rookie pilot to drop a perfect dime down a tiny shaft with
00:36:36the Empire's top pass rusher, if you will, on his tail, then why can't Cam Ward do the
00:36:41same in this game? It's pretty much the same challenge, am I right?
00:36:45Wide open at the middle of the field is Calvin Ridley.
00:36:49Luke did have some help from Wedge and Porkins.
00:36:51Well, he helped block for a bit anyway, but he's going to need a Hannon Chewy level assist
00:36:56to pull this one off.
00:36:58He has to be able to avoid Zach Allen, Jonathan Cooper, Nick Bonito,
00:37:06Tillman, Jonah Ellis, John Franklin Myers at the very minimum, and each of them took down
00:37:12five to 13 X-wings apiece last year.
00:37:14Fails, buried, Jonah Ellis.
00:37:17Tennessee quarterbacks were planted on the regular last season, which is why they have
00:37:22two new starters this year.
00:37:24Ha ha ha!
00:37:25Yeah!
00:37:26Woo!
00:37:27And it helps Ward's a scrambler, and if he can keep things alive, his top wingman, Calvin
00:37:32Ridley, a thousand-yard dude two years in a row.
00:37:35Touchdown!
00:37:36Tight!
00:37:37There is a theoretical drop-off from him, though, which means he'll probably spend all game
00:37:42with Patrick Sertan tracking him.
00:37:44Ward's going to have to be able to hit more than a womp rat to thread the ball past him.
00:37:48It's a hundred-yard pick six for Denver!
00:37:51Van Jefferson, Tyler Lockett make their Tennessee debuts.
00:37:55Lockett is in the vet part of his career, but at least does have some nice years on his resume.
00:38:00Tight end Chigo Konkwo could get plenty of looks as well.
00:38:04Rookie quarterbacks like those tight ends.
00:38:06Inside the 35-30, 25-20!
00:38:08But even he won't be easy to connect with.
00:38:10Denver debuts former 49er Talanoa Hufunga at safety, who's pairing with Brandon Jones,
00:38:16who is a low-key stud.
00:38:18This is Jones at safety!
00:38:20And Denver also debuts first-rounder Jaday Barron at corner, so maybe Tennessee leans into
00:38:26Tony Pollard in the ground game to slow things down.
00:38:29He was their most effective offensive option.
00:38:32A race to the end zone!
00:38:33He's in for the touchdown!
00:38:35He'll have Broncos newcomer, Dre Greenlaw, chasing him from the inside linebacker spot,
00:38:39as well as Alex Singleton, underrated hombre.
00:38:43Which also might be true about Denver's second-year quarterback.
00:38:46It appears all Bows know football after watching Nick sparkle in his rookie year.
00:38:51He might be the answer to, what if Drew Brees could run a little, too?
00:38:55Run it, Bowe!
00:38:56To the goal line!
00:38:57Touchdown, Denver!
00:38:58I'm not saying Bowe is on Brees' level.
00:39:00Settle down.
00:39:01But Van Wilder 2.0 looks like he's going to be a problem for defenses,
00:39:05starting with Tennessee's, which will trot out four new starters,
00:39:10five if you count Legereus Sneed, who didn't play much last year.
00:39:13Boy, excellent tackle by Legereus Sneed!
00:39:16Sneed could lock up quite a bit with Nick's go-to Cortland Sutton,
00:39:20like Ridley a thousand-plus yards in 2024,
00:39:23and like Ridley also kind of the clear target most passing plays.
00:39:27Sutton goes up and makes the catch.
00:39:29Tennessee corners Roger McCreary, Jarvis Brownlee are no slouches,
00:39:34have safety Xavier Woods and Imani Hooker backing them up.
00:39:37Hooker 40! Hooker 30!
00:39:39Who have to pay attention to Nick's new tight end, Evan Ingram, hurt last year so production was limited,
00:39:45but has logged plenty of big games when healthy.
00:39:48So excited that he is healthy and he's back.
00:39:50Those DBs hoping their front can hurry Nick's.
00:39:53Draymond Jones is new to Tennessee making his debut.
00:39:57He joins Arden Key, Jeffrey Simmons, among others.
00:40:00He is swarmed and dropped!
00:40:03Titans' pass rush wasn't great at getting to quarterbacks,
00:40:06and their new crew is having to try and get past a Denver O-line that made it hard to reach Bowe.
00:40:11What they weren't able to do was spring their running backs very often, but maybe it was the backs.
00:40:16They drafted RJ Harvey in the second round,
00:40:19and picked up J.K. Dobbins who had a career year in L.A. last season.
00:40:23Breaks a tackle into the end zone!
00:40:26What else?
00:40:27That's up to you.
00:40:28Take it from here and load up the comments section with your keys or analysis.
00:40:33Someone has to play the role of analyst, because I certainly can't.
00:40:36I'm just game preview guy, here with my trusty bag for another year of setting you all up,
00:40:41and our panel of 10 who are back for you to be mad at.
00:40:45We'll see you next time!
00:41:10Las Vegas Raiders start 2025 on the road strutting off to the east coast,
00:41:15sporting a very Northwest vibe.
00:41:17They are in New England taking on an old Patriot,
00:41:19who debuts behind the wheel of a very new looking Patriots team.
00:41:26All 32 teams are lined up at the 2025 starting line together.
00:41:30We don't know who might win the race right now, no matter what we think.
00:41:34So let's try and unlock this matchup with 14 keys.
00:41:37One of them has to work, right?
00:41:39Let's get one here, let's get one here, baby.
00:41:41Let's get one here, let's get one here.
00:41:43Let's begin with the debut of the Pete Carroll-Ashton-Gente combo meal.
00:41:47Pete loves to toke it.
00:41:48Him and beast mode had some sessions, man.
00:41:50Gente has been compared to no other than Saquon.
00:41:53Not sure if a toy comes with it, but that's what New England's defense is being served up.
00:42:00May we move on to key number two already?
00:42:02Drake not only has a new head coach in his ear, he has a new OC in Josh McDaniels.
00:42:06Not the best track record guiding quarterbacks in New England,
00:42:09but maybe he'll get it right this time around.
00:42:11And a touchdown pass on a perfect dime from Drake May!
00:42:16May has a new WR1, a new first rounder protecting him,
00:42:20and the kid didn't look bad as a rook in the middle of a tough sitch.
00:42:23Key three, his counterpart, third Northwest connection new to the Vegas cast,
00:42:28Geno Smith reuniting with Carroll, has Chip Kelly as his new OC.
00:42:32He was last seen calling Ohio State's offense, so the intrigue surrounding the offense is broader
00:42:38than just their ground game.
00:42:39Fires towards the sideline, and that one is caught.
00:42:43Brock Lesnar-Bowers, key number four, New England's secondary,
00:42:47taking on what some actually think will wear the tight end championship belt by year's end.
00:42:52I'm not blocking, I'm running around, actually.
00:42:53If he could look as good as he did with Uncle Rico and Farva throwing him the ball,
00:42:58how much better might he be with Geno?
00:43:01Ping-pong back to New England's top pass catcher for key five,
00:43:05Stephon Diggs makes his debut with Patriot Pat on his helmet.
00:43:08Not sure if he'll be handing out gift bags on the way in,
00:43:11but Diggs is supposed to play a vital role in elevating May's play.
00:43:17Key number six, the revamped Vegas defense May and Diggs are taking on.
00:43:21Raiders D was not good in 2024,
00:43:24new faces being plugged into the starting 11, all under the guidance of D.C. Patrick Graham.
00:43:33Ditto to key number seven, New England's defense also ain't the same as it used to be.
00:43:38New D.C. and Terrell Williams, five new starters who weren't with the team in 2024,
00:43:43plus the return of D.T. Christian Bearmore, so to speak.
00:43:47Lots of new faces on both these defenses in this game.
00:43:49We go back to Las Vegas' defense for our eighth key, Malcolm Koontz. Recap, Koontz came on late
00:43:58in 2023 and looked like he was ready to break out as a top-tier pass rusher type
00:44:03to help Mad Max chase down some gas up front.
00:44:05And Crosby was a lone road warrior once again. Those three-plus Adam Butler are going to test
00:44:13New England's retooled O-line. Key nine, of course, is New England's big uglies. May's going to see
00:44:18what it's like with two new tackles. Drafted Will Campbell in the first round, signed Morgan Moses.
00:44:24They have a new center. Their line was not a strength in 2024. They hope it is in 2025.
00:44:29Caught on the right sideline for a touchdown. In at 10, all the other guys that line is supposed to
00:44:36set up. Mack Hollins, new to the Patriot way as well. Demario Douglas and Keyshawn Booty,
00:44:41May's partners from last year, Hunter Henry at tight end.
00:44:44Scramble's out of the pocket and there's Hunter Henry again.
00:44:47Patriot's run game also features a new body. It's a very different O-face, hopefully better than
00:44:52Lumberg's. Debut time for second-rounder Travion Henderson. Paired with returnees Romandre
00:44:58Stevenson and Antonio Gibson. Vegas' defense could very well find itself trying to stop a
00:45:04relentless rush attack. A second-rounder is also making his first regular season start for the
00:45:12Raiders offense. That's key 12. Bash is supposed to provide Geno with a nice additional option.
00:45:17Pat's corners chasing him around, as well as vet Jacoby Myers. Pat's fans know that dude.
00:45:23He's got an open man! Fire's under it! Slowing down those cats partially hinge on
00:45:28whether Key 13 can do its job. Think Vrabel's gonna bring it back since it was pounded into
00:45:33his head when he was first there? Pat's pass rush wasn't in much of a rush last year. Plug
00:45:38Bearmore into the trenches missed most of last year hurt. Milton Williams debuts at DT after playing
00:45:44well for the champs. And they also signed Harold Landry, who played for Vrabel in Tennessee.
00:45:49He's a consistent double-digit bag man. Behind them are 14th and final key, Robert Spillane.
00:46:00Black hole is like, that guy is also in Mr. Hand's class because we know that dude. Spillane has been
00:46:05balling on the strip the last few years, but few have noticed. One of the many new faces hitting the
00:46:10scene as part of that overhaul defense. Didn't hit everything. New England corner Christian Gonzalez,
00:46:18for example, stud, making his way up the cornerback charts quickly. But what else should fans consider
00:46:24in this one? Provide the answer along with your prediction in the comments section, won't you?
00:46:28That's how these work. I'm game preview guy, or GPG if you're into the whole brevity thing. I'll be
00:46:34trying to tie the room together again this season. I am again assisted by my panel of 10. Season is
00:46:40finally back though. Time for another great roller coaster ride. Thanks for jumping on with us.
00:47:11Carolina Panthers take to the road to start the year. Off to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars,
00:47:16two teams with very similar vibes as the new season kicks off. Another day, another opportunity,
00:47:21man. Let's go out here and be great. Navigating week one with a 14 keys approach. The first one
00:47:26we toss out, the double-sided kind. Jags trading up for Travis Hunter, who's supposed to have a
00:47:32Shohei Otani-like effect on Duvall and the NFL. Looks in his direction and he's got it right short
00:47:39of the first down. If Hunter is going to make an immediate impact, key number two will have to get
00:47:44him the ball on the reg. Trevor Lawrence knows the pressures of being a prized pick. He's had an up and
00:47:49down run so far that he hopes swings back towards the up direction starting with this game. Have some
00:47:56fun, man. Pick this up. Come on. We're good. We're good. Keep the top three draft pick types going as key
00:48:01number three. Bryce Young knows how Trev feels. Shorter resume, but questions remain. He, though,
00:48:07is just as in need of a fast start to his 2025. Young, back of the end zone, in trouble, gets away,
00:48:14throws downfield, caught! Fourth key is Tett McMillan's impact on Bryce. Carolina's first rounder is
00:48:21another top ten pick. His selection took some folks by surprise. Will he take Jacksonville's
00:48:26secondary by surprise? Young throws a jump ball for T-Mac, and he makes the catch. Great catch!
00:48:33Keep the wide-out train theme rolling. Brian Thomas comes off a great rookie year,
00:48:38was kind of the lone gun in their offense in 2024. Now he should have some help with Hunter drawing some
00:48:44of the attention. How much time Bryce has to find his mates will depend on key number seven,
00:48:55Jacksonville's Josh Hines Allen, Trayvon Walker pass rush, second rounder Mason Smith makes his debut,
00:49:02and so does free agent signee Emmanuel Ogba. But it's Walker and Hines Allen who will really test
00:49:07Carolina's tackles all game long. Panthers pass rush lacked the rush part at times last year too.
00:49:15They have five new defensive starters, two of them supposed to help solve that. Patrick Jones,
00:49:20former Viking, makes his Panthers debut, as does former chief Tershawn Wharton. They'll join DJ
00:49:27Wanham and Derek Brown, who barely played last year. T-Law's line is definitely taking on what should be a
00:49:33more dangerous D front. Patrick Mahomes is sacked! Shift to the run games for Keys 9 and 10,
00:49:39Jags' Devin Lloyd and Foye Luikun getting in the cage with Carolina's Chuba-Rico rush attack,
00:49:45one of the best first-name duos you'll ever hear. Dowdle makes his Panthers debut after a nice year in
00:49:51Dallas. Hubbard was just as strong for Carolina without getting much pub. They should be able to
00:49:56keep pounding this season in this game with that pair. On the other side, you have Carolina's
00:50:07linebacking combo of Trevin Wallace and newcomer Christian Roseboom squaring off with the tank and
00:50:12the ETN machine. Travis and Bigsby the X factor to Jacksonville's offensive attack. We've seen them
00:50:18have some monster games. Their rush attack is just not always super consistent. But Jacksonville does have
00:50:26a new coach who likes to run the ball. Liam Cohen's head coaching debut is key number 11. He leaned
00:50:32heavy on Bucky Irving and Rashad White in Tampa last year, so we'll see if his approach is similar.
00:50:39For it to work, Cohen needs his O-line to open up holes. Their new-look line are 12th key. Center
00:50:45Robert Hainsey makes his Jags debut after coming over with Cohen from Tampa Bay, and they signed guard
00:50:51Patrick McCurry both expected to help establish a better ground attack. The secondaries will play us
00:50:59out. Jags wideouts are taking on a strong Carolina cornerback trio. Youngster Chow Smith-Wade,
00:51:05Michael Jackson, Shimon, and J.C. Beyoncé's not on the horn for you should not be easy to beat.
00:51:10J.C., I got 99 problems, but being smart isn't one. That's to make it clear this isn't AI, and if it is,
00:51:20no one should use it anymore. They have a new safety in Trayvon Merrig as well, and Jacksonville's
00:51:25secondary will have new faces working for it too. New safety Eric Murray and new corner Jordan Lewis.
00:51:31Stopping the pass wasn't a strength for the Jags in 2024. We'll see if those dudes make it look better.
00:51:37What a play. Jarrion Jones undercuts that route. Luda would tell you this is some good old-fashioned
00:51:43dirty south football. Carolina, Jacksonville, take the preview home, won't you? Hit the comment
00:51:49section with anything left out you think needs attention. Look, I'm a guy in a bag, so I can't
00:51:54include it all. Game preview guy back for more preview fun. If you're new to the game preview bar,
00:52:00welcome. We have lots of cliffs and norms in here. They'll tell you I might spill a pour occasionally,
00:52:06but it's part of the charm. That's what I like to believe anyway. Panel of 10 is back too.
00:52:10Merry football season everyone. The pick screen should be good for this one.
00:52:40Is someone getting married for this one? New York Giants hitting the road to start the year with
00:52:51something old, something new, something borrowed, and of course something blue.
00:52:59They are heading to the land where men do work with gavels, in Washington where fans are hoping their
00:53:04squad commands everyone's attention right out of the gate. It really feels like the beginning of
00:53:08something. Week one matchups are a fresh start for everyone, so let's check out the 14 keys that have
00:53:14been dropped into the bowl in this one, so to speak. You don't see one that fits your fancy,
00:53:18plug it into the comments section. They all fit there. It's a challenging part.
00:53:23Jaden Daniels. Encore, hard to miss. Kid was electric in 2024. Time to see if he can up his game.
00:53:29Do you believe in miracles? Jaden Daniels does it again.
00:53:35This matchup will feel a little like we slipped into the Spider-verse. Key number two, his counterpart,
00:53:41Russell Wilson, the Peter B. Parker in this tale, looking over at Miles Morales thinking,
00:53:46kid, I was slinging webs, dodging the Doc Ocks of the NFL world when you were in diapers.
00:53:51Russ, the older, wiser, dual threat QB, looking to pull a Spidey-like miracle in New York this year.
00:53:57And Wilson completes that one. Next set of keys, each guy's sidekick,
00:54:02though Spider-Man never really had a Robin. Malik Nabors put up a monster rookie year with
00:54:07Drew Poppet and Lockett, Danny Dimes and Tommy Cutlets feeding him the ball. Idea is he could
00:54:13really cook now that he has a new chef in the kitchen. Malik Nabors neighborhood is a wonderful
00:54:18place to be. Washington too has an elite WR1. Terry McLaurin got paid, so he rolls in happy.
00:54:25McLaurin has played in six week one games in his career, 125 yards his first year,
00:54:31hasn't hit 65 yards in his last five straight. He's not a better number one in the league than
00:54:36Terry McLaurin. Commanders fans have to get used to rooting for the bad guy this season,
00:54:41comes with taking on a guy notorious for stealing bikes, breaking into homes,
00:54:45and knocking dudes the football out. Debo makes his Washington debut our fifth key.
00:54:53Samuel, five week one games under his belt, one monster showing, rest under 65 yards as well.
00:55:00Abdul Carter will be making his very first week one NFL start. The rookie checks in as key number six,
00:55:06has that third overall pick pressure to deal with.
00:55:09Can use him the way that Dallas Cowboys use Michael Parsons, where they line him up everywhere,
00:55:13over the guard, over the center. And now you can dictate the Mike point.
00:55:17Let's stay in the trenches for key number seven, Washington's revamped O-line.
00:55:21Commanders added left tackle Laramie Tunsell to try and help better protect Daniels,
00:55:25as well as drafting tackle Josh Connerly in the first round.
00:55:29And they got their own push push to knock him home!
00:55:32Those dudes don't just have Carter to worry about though, that's our eighth key.
00:55:36New York's defensive strength is their pass rush. Kayvon Thibodeau, Dexter Lawrence,
00:55:41and Brian Burns will all be out there trying to chase Daniels down.
00:55:45Man, stop doing with me!
00:55:46The chaps who will try and feed off that heat, our ninth key. Giants have two new faces in their
00:55:52secondary, safety Javon Holland and cornerback Paul Sinadibo, paired with safety Tyler Newbin,
00:55:58cornerbacks Deontay Banks and Drew Phillips, has the potential to be a sneaky tough team to pass on.
00:56:06Giants defense featuring four new starters, same is true of Washington's, two of them hoping they
00:56:11can bag Russ. Javon Kinlaw at DT, a free agent ad, as is Von Miller at defensive end.
00:56:18Wilson also has to worry about Dietrich Wise, who makes his Washington debut.
00:56:22Dorrance Armstrong, Deron Payne back as well.
00:56:25Hey, holy s**t, what a hit!
00:56:27Key 11, give it to Washington's secondary, cornerback Jonathan Jones is new,
00:56:32safety Will Harris is too, team wasn't great versus the pass last year,
00:56:36then those guys make a difference.
00:56:38Firing throws, incomplete, incomplete!
00:56:41Mike Sainer still, Sean Lattimore, Quan Martin fill out their backside.
00:56:45Ten, five, pick six!
00:56:49Aside from neighbors, those guys also tangling with New York's Darius Slayton and Wandale Robinson,
00:56:55they have a solid little whiteout trio for Wilson to work with.
00:56:58That's caught by Robinson, great move!
00:57:00The running back linebacker battle will take us out as keys number 13 and 14,
00:57:05Giants linebackers Micah McFadden, Bobby Okereke, tackle monsters, they have Austin Eckler, rookie
00:57:12Ja'Cory Cross get Merritt to track, as well as Daniels, who led them in rushing yards last year.
00:57:17Big run by Jayden Daniels!
00:57:19The other way around, Washington linebackers Bobby Wagner and Frankie Luvu,
00:57:24getting in the ring with New York's Tyrone Tracy, had an underrated rookie year.
00:57:35What else? We didn't hit the tight ends, special teams, head coaches, Dable is one and two in week
00:57:40one, Dan Quinn two and five when he's had a summer to prep, whatever else you think needs to be chatted
00:57:45up, chatted up in the comments section, chat!
00:57:48You know what, I'm sorry, I'm not licensed to use that term, I'm authorized to wear this bag though,
00:57:53and with it comes great power, and you know, great power comes with great responsibility,
00:57:58see how it all came back around?
00:58:00And our panel of 10 came back around to finish off these previews, NFC East football people,
00:58:06it's real again, I know what it's like Spidey, just two guys in masks trying to make the world a better place.
00:58:11We'll see you next time.
00:58:26We'll see you next time.
00:58:28We'll see you next time.
00:58:30It's the game a lot of fans hope to see bookend the 2025 AFC season, Lamar Jackson,
00:58:54Josh Allen, Bills, Ravens, no better week one matchup, which is why they dropped it in the
00:59:00Sunday night football slot.
00:59:02Wasn't that long ago, Baltimore and Buffalo gave us an all-time playoff classic.
00:59:06Clip it, got it, oh the ball was dropped!
00:59:09We all wanted more that night, now we get it.
00:59:12Not gonna find two hungrier teams, not gonna find two hungrier QBs.
00:59:17Buffalo's fortunes in this matchup, and most matchups, tied to how Mr. Allen shows out.
00:59:22Get this zombie!
00:59:25Most fans know the book of Josh.
00:59:27Huge Seinfeld fan.
00:59:29His wife is gold, Jerry.
00:59:31He's the reigning MVP.
00:59:32Hey, this one puts him away, boys.
00:59:34This one puts him away.
00:59:35Let's go.
00:59:36One of the few that can carry his team with both his arms and legs.
00:59:40This Max Headroom bozo thinks he's married to Jerry Seinfeld's daughter.
00:59:43He's into the end zone for the touchdown!
00:59:46Allen has six week one starts in his career, mixed results,
00:59:50couple of meh outings, couple of nice ones, couple of duds.
00:59:54Jackson has six starts following his summertime activities.
00:59:57The R&R has treated him well, 4-2 record, and he's sparkled in five of the six games.
01:00:03Hey, when they're up against it, they're gonna run Lamar.
01:00:07When they're up against it, they're gonna run Lamar.
01:00:09He, of course, is no longer trying to carry the load alone.
01:00:12Buffalo's defense knows the king is coming.
01:00:14Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry have been unstoppable.
01:00:17Derrick Henry's last six week one performances, one 116-yard outing,
01:00:23a couple of 80-plus-yard games, 46-63 yards in the others, so all over the map to some degree.
01:00:29He might!
01:00:30He could!
01:00:3120!
01:00:31Ran for 84 yards and a touchdown in their playoff loss to Buffalo last year.
01:00:36Some Ravens fans felt he should have gotten more touches.
01:00:39He will go all the way!
01:00:42The Buffalo defense that pair is up against, mostly the same as last season.
01:00:47Henry will have linebackers Matt Milano and Terrell Bernard watching his every move.
01:00:54But there are a few guys making their Bills debuts in this one.
01:00:57Lamar won't just have to worry about defensive ends A.J. Epinesa and Greg Rousseau,
01:01:03Buffalo's top bag man in 2024, he also has to worry about Joey Bosa on the other side.
01:01:10And down he goes, Joey Bosa!
01:01:14DT Ed Oliver looms, of course, as does rookie DT T.J. Sanders, among others.
01:01:19When he lets it fly, same safeties, Taylor Rapp, Cole Bishop, Damar Hamlin.
01:01:24At corner, though, he'll see Trey Day out there again, white back home where he belongs.
01:01:29Plus, rookie corner Maxwell Harrison, assuming he's healed from a preseason injury.
01:01:34Christian Benford, who has morphed into one of the best in the biz.
01:01:37He's picked off this time, it's Benford.
01:01:40And of course, slot man extraordinaire, Taron Johnson.
01:01:43Touchdown, Buffalo!
01:01:45Taron Johnson!
01:01:49He's part of one of the best one-on-one matchups in this game.
01:01:52He'll tangle quite a bit with Zay Flowers, who fires from the slot and has turned into Jackson's go-to.
01:01:58Zay Flowers on the receiving end!
01:02:01On the outside, DeAndre Hopkins makes his regular season debut in purple,
01:02:05and there's Rashad Bateman coming off a career year.
01:02:08Open at the five!
01:02:09Touchdown!
01:02:11Nobody, of course, wants to have a bigger game than tight end Mark Andrews.
01:02:15Flock fans hoping their feelings after the game are akin to how Harry felt
01:02:19about Lloyd when he saw the hog he picked up for that dog van.
01:02:22He's got a man, he's got Andrews, he's got a touchdown!
01:02:27Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, I turned back to Buffalo's offense,
01:02:32which also features a top-end tight end, Dalton Kincaid, one of Allen's faves,
01:02:37second-most targets on the team last year despite only playing in 13 games.
01:02:40Caught in the back of the end zone!
01:02:42At wideout, two newbies to the red, white, and blue,
01:02:45Joshua Palmer, who they added from the Chargers, nice complimentary guy,
01:02:50and Elijah Moore, who spent two years with the Jets and two with the Browns,
01:02:53so he gets to see what it's like to play for a, you know, an actual,
01:02:57you can finish that one so I don't get in trouble.
01:02:59Those two joining long ball threat Keon Coleman,
01:03:0219 yards per catch last year, second highest had he qualified,
01:03:06and he's into the end zone!
01:03:08And Buffalo's 2024 target leader, Khalil Shakir,
01:03:12who's looking to assert himself as a true top-shelf guy.
01:03:15What a catch! Shakir holding on!
01:03:19Baltimore secondary also contending with Curtis Samuel,
01:03:22they employ a committee approach with their pass catchers.
01:03:25Raven's DB room is deep though, Malachi Starks makes his regular season debut at safety,
01:03:30he was their first rounder, has one of the best next to him,
01:03:33Kyle Hamilton as good as it gets at his position.
01:03:39Shakir, Coleman, and company also have an elite group of corners to try and escape from.
01:03:43Jair Alexander, first game as a Raven after all those great years with Green Bay,
01:03:48Nate Wiggins looking to build off a nice rookie year,
01:03:51plus stud Marlon Humphrey, quite the early test for Buffalo's passing attack.
01:03:55It's intercepted! Picked off! Marlon Humphrey!
01:03:58What a battle up front, too. Buffalo's five hog mollies that gave up the fewest sacks of any team
01:04:04in 2024 are all back. Yes, Allen's legs had a lot to do with it, too.
01:04:09Baltimore's pass rush racked up the second-most quarterbacks a year ago.
01:04:13Cats that racked them up all back for the most part.
01:04:16Nnamdi Matabike in the middle, Odafe Owe off the edge,
01:04:20along with Kyle Van Nooye, who led the team in sacks.
01:04:22Nooye's got him, and he'll be credited for his fifth sack.
01:04:26Then there's the James Cook-Roquan duel. Is there a better linebacker than Smith? I'll wait.
01:04:32What? Are you willing to give up?
01:04:33Cook and he sails into the endzone!
01:04:36It'll be weird seeing someone else kicking that flavor in your ear for Baltimore.
01:04:40Head coach is Sean McDermott, 5-3 in his Week 1 games.
01:04:43One of those losses to the guy on the other sideline,
01:04:46John Harbaugh, pretty good when he has extra time to study.
01:04:4912-5 in his out-of-the-gate games.
01:04:52AHHHHH!
01:04:54My record off the blocks is nowhere near as good.
01:04:57Comes with wearing a bag over my head when I put these together.
01:05:00But you guys are always there to correct game preview guy in the comments section.
01:05:04When I fumble a snap or handoff, be sure to also include your score predictions and analysis,
01:05:10which are what make these so good in the end.
01:05:12Have to read and listen to really soak it all in.
01:05:15So get to work.
01:05:16Same to you, panel of 10.
01:05:17Strap up that chin strap.
01:05:19NFL 2025 is upon us.
01:05:21A little Planet Earth episode to kick off 2021.
01:05:27Cheetahs, penguins, alayatu, latu, dolphins and colts.
01:05:32Miami roadbound to start the year hoping to get their circus act back up and running.
01:05:37But she said we're going to win today.
01:05:39Indianapolis at home in this one.
01:05:53Week one is so fresh and so clean clean for both teams.
01:05:55It's time to get our first glimpse at so many unknowns.
01:06:12Let's run this preview via 14 keys we can watch as the matchup unfolds.
01:06:16Back at home today.
01:06:17Gotta get the dough.
01:06:19Gotta get it.
01:06:20Up first, DJ, who beat out Anthony Richardson for the starters,
01:06:25looking to become just the latest quarterback to turn things around after getting out of the Big Apple.
01:06:30Daniel Jones, sir, go get him.
01:06:32The way you change the story is that you go and win.
01:06:35And you win.
01:06:36You have two home games to open the season.
01:06:37You're playing against Miami and Denver both times at home in front of your home crowd in front of the dome.
01:06:42Go 2-0.
01:06:43Our second key, Tua Tungavailoa.
01:06:45He's only completed a full season once in five years,
01:06:48but he led the league in completion percentage when he played last year.
01:06:52When he's on the field, they are a different beast or mammal to deal with.
01:06:56Might be a hard run.
01:06:57Yeah.
01:06:57All right, let's do it.
01:06:59Might be a hard run.
01:07:00I'll meet y'all in the end zone now.
01:07:02So of course, Tyreek and Jalen become key number three.
01:07:05We all know what Hill is capable of.
01:07:07Gonna take more than one Colt corner to keep up with.
01:07:10The two of fake was fantastic.
01:07:12Tyreek Hill was wide open.
01:07:14Same is true of Waddle.
01:07:16They are a lethal one-two punch.
01:07:18Indianapolis' DBs are starting the year off with one of the toughest tests they'll face all season.
01:07:24Jalen Waddle! Jalen Waddle!
01:07:27Key number four, the Colts' new security blanket.
01:07:29Tight end Tyler Warren debuts.
01:07:32The first rounder could go a long way in helping settle Richardson.
01:07:35He was labeled a semi-steal in the draft. Bears passing on him for a different tight end.
01:07:40Daniel Jones throws a strike to Tyler Warren and Warren is out across midfield.
01:07:44Key number five, Jonathan Taylor.
01:07:47Miami's front gets one of the best backs doing it to start the year.
01:07:50All JTs apparently hitmakers.
01:07:52They feed into the belly of Jonathan Taylor.
01:07:54Big run breaks it out.
01:07:55He's at the 50.
01:07:56He's at the 40.
01:07:57He's got one man to beat.
01:07:58And Taylor is only half the problem for Miami's rush defense.
01:08:02Jones has had plenty of big games on the ground in his last few seasons.
01:08:05As a starter.
01:08:06He has been running like there's no tomorrow.
01:08:09When he does throw, he will have to dodge our seventh key.
01:08:13Miami's pass rush.
01:08:14Zach Seeler in the convo for best DT going.
01:08:17Defensive end Kenneth Grant debuts.
01:08:20Their first rounder from this year.
01:08:21Chop Robinson coming off the edge.
01:08:23Comes off a nice rookie year.
01:08:25Jalen Phillips, Bradley Chubb looking to put injury-shortened 2024s behind them.
01:08:31Their backside comes in at eight.
01:08:33Miami has two new starting safeties taking the field in this one.
01:08:37Meddling type of group or underrated.
01:08:39Spears was in motion there.
01:08:41He's got the football but he's going absolutely nowhere.
01:08:44Grabbed and slung backwards there by Storm Duck.
01:08:47The rookie corner out of Louisville.
01:08:49The wideouts they'll track in this game are ninth key.
01:08:52Same kind of questions surround them.
01:08:55Are they going to be tough enough?
01:08:56Michael Pittman is a good possession guy.
01:08:58Throws off his back foot into the end zone.
01:09:00Going up and making a bid on the ball is Michael Pittman Jr.
01:09:03Alec Pierce, a great deep threat.
01:09:05He led the NFL in yards per catch last year.
01:09:07Fires into the end zone.
01:09:09It is a touchdown.
01:09:10Josh Downs has flashed plenty of promise in his few campaigns.
01:09:14Throws over the middle.
01:09:14Caught inside the five and diving for the goal line.
01:09:17It's Josh Downs for a touchdown.
01:09:19Colts, O-line, 10th key.
01:09:21Didn't have the best of years last year.
01:09:23They do have top shelf talent though.
01:09:25Are they going to be a strength again?
01:09:26And Richardson's going to be sacked.
01:09:28Speaking of O-lines, Miami's will utilize three new starters.
01:09:32No more Teron Armstead at tackle.
01:09:34They have two new guards.
01:09:35One a rookie second rounder.
01:09:37Protecting Tua from big hits clearly vital for this group.
01:09:41I'm going to change this call.
01:09:43I'm not going to change this call.
01:09:44At 12, the dudes that are going to be trying to lay Tua out.
01:09:47Woody Pei, DeForest Buckner, Liatu Latu, Samson Ebucom.
01:09:52Second rounder JT Tua Maloa.
01:09:54That's a lot of QB hunters to deal with.
01:09:57And they get to him.
01:09:58It's a Forrest Buckner, the all pro.
01:10:01Lucky number 13.
01:10:02Indianapolis' new look secondary, along with a new DC by the way.
01:10:06Cornerback Charverius Ward, safety Cam Bynum both make their Colts debuts.
01:10:11Lou Anarumo is now calling the defensive shots.
01:10:14How about the peanut punch from Jalen Jones?
01:10:17Not to be forgotten, Devon A-chan, Miami's running back.
01:10:20Dolphins' run game is essential to their passing game working the right way.
01:10:25When A-chan is on, they really do become semi-unstoppable.
01:10:28Touchdown Miami!
01:10:29What are the most important keys on your ring?
01:10:32Throw all that into the comments section so others can read something of actual value.
01:10:36If there were mistakes in this preview, then blame AI.
01:10:41Otherwise, it was actually a Game Preview Guy production again,
01:10:44which Finns fans know can come with the occasional fumble.
01:10:47But what do you want?
01:10:48I have a bag on my head.
01:10:49I can't always see great.
01:10:50But the Game Preview bar is open for business once again.
01:10:54We've got our Cliffs and Norms in here.
01:10:56Rest in peace.
01:10:57And hopefully plenty of new customers we can spend the year with.
01:11:00Our panel of 10 is back, too.
01:11:02Happy football season, everyone!
01:11:16New Orleans Saints open up 2025 at home.
01:11:29Lots of debuts in the Big Easy in this game.
01:11:32Time to test out some new wheels.
01:11:34If all you had was today, what would you give but tomorrow?
01:11:37The Cardinals, their guests.
01:11:39Arizona hoping to make an early statement that they're ready to be contenders.
01:11:42It's a privilege to feel like we're good enough to, as long as I do me.
01:11:49Taking the keychain view of Week 1 matchups,
01:11:51what are the keys that give us the best chance to unlock the answer to how this game plays out?
01:11:56Man, it's going to be all game.
01:11:58It's a blow open.
01:11:59Swear to God, it's going to be all game.
01:12:00Headliner in this game, Kyler Murray.
01:12:03The first rounder is starting his seventh season now.
01:12:05Only one winning record so far.
01:12:08Has the same OC as last year.
01:12:10Same cast of starters surround him.
01:12:12He'd love to start 2025 with a game
01:12:15that makes it look like it's all going to come together this season.
01:12:18To the outside.
01:12:20And into the end zone for his second touchdown.
01:12:23If it comes together Week 1, could depend on how key number 2 performs.
01:12:27Marvin Harrison had a nice rookie year.
01:12:29They didn't draft him to be nice.
01:12:31He's supposed to provide a Jamar Chase, JJ-like impact to their O.
01:12:35First NFL score for Marvin Harrison Jr.
01:12:39The first of many to come.
01:12:41Trey McBride also will get plenty of targets.
01:12:44He's our third key.
01:12:46Saints safeties and linebackers squaring off with a top 5 tight end at this point.
01:12:50Quick throw inside.
01:12:51It's Trey McBride on a tight end screen and into the end zone.
01:12:55The debut of the Moore Saints offense key number 4.
01:12:58Moore will be calling the game.
01:13:00Will the Saints offensive car handle as well as the used model they leased the last few years,
01:13:05hoping for more Bugatti and less Gremlin from the QB position?
01:13:09Really nice play.
01:13:10Ball comes out of Rattler's hands so quick on the play action.
01:13:14Typically, New Orleans offense is an Alvin and the Chipmunks production.
01:13:18When all else fails, dump it to Kamara or pitch it to him, snap it to him, whatever it takes.
01:13:23Talent wise, he's their star.
01:13:25He just spends a lot of games with five guys keying on him.
01:13:28You ain't gonna catch him, not Alvin Kamara.
01:13:31Sixth key, the revamped Arizona defense that's trying to stop him, trying to gel right away.
01:13:37We'll see five new starters for them out there.
01:13:40Four free agents added to their front seven.
01:13:42Outside linebacker Josh Sweat, nose tackle Dalvin Tomlinson,
01:13:46and defensive end Calais Campbell, who is starting his 18th year where it all started.
01:13:51Oh, there we are. I want 60 minutes.
01:13:55Campbell and Sweat are supposed to help Arizona up the amount of bags they leave games with.
01:13:59No need trying to save the environment in football.
01:14:02Arizona's pass rush key number seven, B.J. Ogulari, Barron Browning, Zayvon Collins,
01:14:08will all test New Orleans tackles along with their first round DN from last year, Darius Robinson,
01:14:14who's looking to break out this season after a quiet start to his NFL journey.
01:14:17Trying to run. May runs into his old man and he's shy of the first down.
01:14:22That group will try and beat an O-line full of firsts. Tackle Kelvin Banks, the Saints' latest
01:14:27first rounder, joins first rounder Trevor Penning, first rounder Taliise Fuaga, and first rounder Cesar Ruiz.
01:14:35That's a lot of ones. Can they play like it?
01:14:37Throws to the end zone, and that is going to be caught.
01:14:40If they do handle Arizona's onslaught, then our ninth key might have a big game.
01:14:44Rashid Shahid and Chris Olave have had plenty of those. Olave spent most of last year hurt though.
01:14:50Looking for the end zone. Gotta love it! Touchdown for Chris Olave!
01:14:54So did Shahid, had to spend a lot of time feeling the need for speed from the sideline.
01:14:59Dude is a burner when healthy. And he's got Rashid Shahid!
01:15:02Brandon Cooks also back home, Vett Whiteout re-debuting for the Saints.
01:15:07Against our 11th key, a Cardinals secondary built around safeties Buda Baker, Jalen Thompson,
01:15:12new rookie cornerback Will Johnson, a second rounder, and returnees Max Melton and Garrett Williams.
01:15:19Those five could prove to be sneaky good.
01:15:21Oh, it fires and it's picked off by Garrett Williams!
01:15:25Saints secondary up next at 12. Kool-Aid McKinstry and Elante Taylor,
01:15:29they are charged with tracking Harrison and company on the outside.
01:15:32I think Elante Taylor brings him down!
01:15:34Their assistants up front, key 13. Carl Granderson and Chase Young will hit Arizona's tackles.
01:15:41Brian Brassi testing their interior.
01:15:43Hurts in trouble!
01:15:45They'll do battle with an Arizona O-line that returns all five starters,
01:15:49a group that made it tough to track Murray down, and a group that helped him and James
01:15:53Connor pile up some big games along the ground. Our final key, Arizona's run game, which really
01:15:59belongs higher up on the Keys' totem pole, it is central to their offensive success.
01:16:0445-50, Connor breaks a tackle, 35-30.
01:16:08Saints linebacker DeMario Davis will be waiting. He's another key to the game,
01:16:12but that's 14, so we gotta wrap this up. But you are tasked with turning the volume up on this
01:16:17preview to 11, Spinal Tap style. The comments section is back open for business to be filled
01:16:22with the opinions of the only experts that really matter, you guys. I am not an expert or an analyst,
01:16:28just Game Preview guy. Got my trusty bag. Game Preview land is safe from talking heads
01:16:34and their hot takes. It's just football and fans and our panel attend to wrap it all up for us.
01:16:39Merry football season to all, and to all a good football season, I guess.
01:17:09It's time to seek the moment of truth and show them who we're about.
01:17:17Minnesota Vikings hit the road to kickoff 2025. They're headed back to Chicago to face the Bears,
01:17:24who hope they'll be feeling it with their new head coach guiding their second year QB.
01:17:28Let's go! Let's go!
01:17:29Let's go!
01:17:29Let's go!
01:17:30Nice matchup to stick on Monday Night Football. Lots of star power and intrigue. Caleb Williams looking to
01:17:36build off a solid rookie year. I mean, in Bears terms, it might be considered spectacular.
01:17:41Gotta pick up the elbow.
01:17:42His counterpart, J.J. McCarthy, making his first NFL start after sitting out hurt last year.
01:17:47Man, if he lights it up, who do I call Kid Dino Mike?
01:17:50Nice touch here by McCarthy.
01:17:53Because here comes J.J. times two. No, J.J. squared? No, no, 4J combo?
01:17:59Though I guess it's technically going to be J.J. to Jets.
01:18:02Touchdown!
01:18:05Jefferson doesn't like being called Justin, apparently.
01:18:08Four week one starts under his belt, started with 71 yards, then 184, 150, 59 last year.
01:18:16A 97-yard touchdown!
01:18:20Holy Jimmy Walker, Batman. J.J. to J.J. against J.J.
01:18:24Chicago corner Jalen Johnson was tracking to recover from an injury to play in this one.
01:18:29Of course he has Hawk too. T.J. Hawkinson, top shelf tight end when healthy.
01:18:34Caught! T.J.'s killing them!
01:18:36Back right corner, end zone, Thielen open, reaches up, touchdown Panthers!
01:18:42Trying to stop that group, corners Kyler Gordon and Tyreek Stevenson both coming off good years.
01:18:47Safety Kevin Byard backing them up, who is next to Jaquan Brisker, who is back after an injury
01:18:53shortened season, up and coming star type when he went down.
01:18:56Well intercepted! Brisker the grab in the 18-yard line!
01:19:00The battle in the trenches will go a long way in determining what kind of game McCarthy has.
01:19:05Minnesota's line gave up a lot of sacks in 2024, some on Darnold who risked it for the big payday,
01:19:11some on the interior of their line, which was gutted. First rounder Donovan Jackson debuts at guard,
01:19:17two former Colts picked up in free agency, so we'll be looking at three new hogs on the inside.
01:19:22Oh my god! Oh my god!
01:19:24Oh my god!
01:19:25Chicago's top pass rush threat is an edge guy, Montez Sweat, looking to make McCarthy sweat, I guess.
01:19:31In trouble, trying to keep the play alive, the football comes out!
01:19:35He has some new mates to try and get home with. Second round DT, Shamar Turner debuts,
01:19:40plus DT Grady Jarrett added in free agency from Atlanta, and defensive end Dayo Odingbo, who came over from Indy.
01:19:47That's Odingbo!
01:19:49Same backers behind them, Tremaine Edmonds and TJ Edwards on Aaron Jones' duty.
01:19:54Jones back-toking it, A.A. Ron put up a career high in yards in his first year in purple.
01:20:01So back to Caleb, best rookie year by any Bears signal caller, wants to take out Eric Kramer's
01:20:06legendary record and become the first Chicago QB to eclipse 4,000 yards and or 30 TDs in a season.
01:20:14We just throw a bomb.
01:20:15Over 100 years of Bears football and not one dude with 30 TDs in a year is crazy.
01:20:21His ability to get off to a good start, also connected to what happens in the trenches,
01:20:26as well as his ability to know when to bail on a play and throw it away, didn't always do that
01:20:30in his rookie campaign. And he's still on his feet, he's finally brought down.
01:20:35But their line two also features three new interior linemen,
01:20:38so they too are expecting better protection for their quarterback.
01:20:44Vikings pass rush, far from a one-man show, have a new DT in Javon Hargrave,
01:20:49former 49er who's plenty adept at breaking on through to the other side. Also debuting as a
01:20:55Vike, defensive end Jonathan Allen. Off the edges, Andrew Van Ginkel and Jonathan Bernard,
01:21:00both double-digit sack artists in 2024. Second-year man Dallas Turner looms as well.
01:21:08When Caleb lets it loose, he has DJ Moore, their top whiteout, hasn't blown up in his week one games
01:21:13yet, but has in plenty of other games. Rookie speedster Luther Burden debuts, he was their most
01:21:23recent second rounder. Their most recent first rounder, Colston Loveland, tight end, also makes
01:21:28his Bears regular season debut. Tight end Cole Komet still in the fold as well. They picked up
01:21:33former commander Olamide Zaccheaus at wideout, so this is his first game in deep blue. Flanked by
01:21:39Rome Odunze, who begins his year two after a nice year one. They will meet up with a Viking
01:21:47secondary with a couple of new faces. Corner Isaiah Rogers had a solid year with Philadelphia last year.
01:21:52Jeff Okuda was with Houston. The other three blokes are returnees. Byron Murphy is their top
01:21:58cornerback dog. Intercepted Byron Murphy Jr. Yeah!
01:22:04Joined by fellow vet Harrison Smith at safety, Josh Metellus can play anywhere.
01:22:09It's picked off by Joshua Metellus. On handoffs, inside linebackers Blake Cashman,
01:22:14Ivan Pace, couple of tackle monsters who are going to be tracking DeAndre Swift,
01:22:18who hopes those new interior linemen help open up more holes than he saw in 2024.
01:22:24He's going baby! 10-5, end zone!
01:22:26Wrote Ben Johnson, directing it all for Chicago. He and his assistants giving it their first goes at
01:22:31their new jobs. Kevin O'Connell, 2-1 in his three week one games. Never ever ever feel like you guys
01:22:38aren't going to kick through. Damn it. Kick through.
01:22:41What else should be pointed out? You guys are on the clock to fill the comments section with points of
01:22:46interest that matter to you, as well as predictions. You can take the man out of the bag, but you can't
