00:00all right so uh unlike last season the sports books sam uh no doubt get off to a good start

00:08last night okay like if that's the play what we saw last night dog and under covering this is

00:15going to be the opposite of what we saw a year ago i i last year sam was such an anomaly for

00:20the sports books with them losing consistently on all these overs and favorites winning

00:24even in college football i have a feeling we're headed back to where we used to be

00:28yeah it really was and uh it it was such an anomaly because it's never even happened in the

00:35past like 80 years it wasn't just you know one weird season it was like the weirdest season ever

00:39and it came at a time too when you know more people had access to sports betting than ever

00:43so part of me thinks is you know the way people are betting is that changing things is you know

00:49the information that's being put out there the way we consume sports betting is at an all-time high so

00:53you have to wonder if that had an impact um but to your point greg i would be i would be shocked if

00:58it didn't swing back the other way this season not just because kind of that's what you know the law

01:02of averages tells us but also the sports books themselves do not want to be put in that position

01:07where they expose themselves to a lot of risk so it'll be really interesting to see how they maybe

01:11adapt and try to push or market different kinds of bets and how they react but definitely got off to

01:16a good start last night with a game going under uh you know with a big spread being covered by the

01:20underdog so um i'd expect more in week one they expect sports books to be rooting for that you

01:24know so far most of the money tonight is on the chiefs uh most of the money is on the over so not

01:29surprising there um we'll see if the books can go 2-0 and we'll see how they do on player props and

01:34parlays and all the other fun things that the public has really loved to bet even more uh than spreads
