00:00Uh, time is ticking here in Missouri.

00:07They got legalized sports betting, you know, this idea that sports betting would come to

00:11Missouri after the legalization in November, you know, with some talk, Oh, maybe we can

00:15get this going in December.

00:16Well, that's not going to happen in January is going to happen either.

00:19So what's the update here?

00:21Yeah.

00:22So Craig, I promise there will be a time we don't have to talk about Missouri, but I mean,

00:26it feels like we've been talking about it since we started doing this almost three years

00:30ago and they've been trying to legalize it.

00:33And I think we're coming to the end.

00:35As you know, as you just mentioned, it did pass, uh, during the election last month by

00:40a very, very slim margin.

00:42So there's been thoughts that it would, there would be a recount and that maybe it doesn't

00:47pass actually.

00:49But thankfully for, for the industry, it has been certified and has officially, uh, been

00:55passed, uh, at the ballot.

00:57So this is a long, again, long journey.

00:59You and I have been talking about it for three years.

01:01First one, it was Missouri, Kansas race and Kansas got it done and launched in 2022.

01:06Um, and it was the old border war and we thought, Oh geez, there's no way Missouri is going

01:10to let them launch it without them launching it.

01:13Uh, but sure enough, here we are almost three years later, uh, actually three years later.

01:17Nope, not it's 2024.

01:19Geez, jumping ahead of myself there, Craig.

01:21Um, but almost three years later and, and still nothing now to your point, once it was

01:27passed in November, a lot of people were very excited, Oh man, we can get it off the ground

01:31right away.

01:32Of course, that's not how it works.

01:33The regulatory agencies still have a lot of work to do to kind of get the licensing in

01:37order the applications ready.

01:39Uh, the, the thought right now is, as we're hearing is the, uh, Missouri gaming commission

01:44will get at emergency application rules out in January.

01:48So the applications can be submitted and get that ball rolling.

01:51Um, and it sounds like they want to get off the ground by late spring, early summer.

01:56Of course, that's not a great time to launch because there's not a whole lot going on,

02:00um, for sports books, but Hey, it's better than, you know, having to wait until 2026.
