Nadine Dorries says she's 'relieved' to join Reform UK

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has welcomed former Conservative culture secretary Nadine Dorries on to the stage at the party’s conference.Mr Farage said Reform was keen to address its weakness of a lack of government experience.He said: “I’m pleased to welcome today to the stage a woman who was served in cabinet as culture secretary, a woman who was sold three-and-a-half million books, a woman who has been on I’m a Celebrity, someone from the real world who’s worked their way up, been incredibly successful, who actually crosses the boundaries from politician into celebrity.”

00:00Everyone, I want to say I am more than delighted to be amongst you today.

00:07I'm actually relieved.

00:13And the reason why I'm relieved is I feel for the first time in a number of years

00:19as though I'm at a conference and amongst people

00:23who share the same principles and values as I have always held

00:29and I can feel it in this room, the energy and the excitement

00:35and the acknowledgement that there is a job to be done.

00:40I want to thank Nigel for that introduction

00:43and I want to thank everybody at Reform for bringing the party to this point.

00:50The reason why, and I'm going to deliver probably a slightly more serious message,

00:55the reason why is this government is in deep and serious trouble.

01:01It is falling apart.

01:03It is dividing and fracturing.

01:06The Conservative Party did that a number of years ago.

01:10But it's not just our political parties which are in trouble.

01:16It's the country too.

01:18And if you have anything, it's anything you want to welcome.
