00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr. declared that Siquijor's power supply is now more than sufficient

00:05following the switch-on of the new 17.8 megawatt Siquijor power plants in Larena.

00:11The facility more than doubles the island's peak demand of 9 megawatts,

00:15putting an end to recurring blackouts that previously lasted up to 10 hours.

00:19The government fast-tracked the project after the Energy Regulatory Commission revoked Sipcor's operating authority in June,

00:26prompting the construction of three new diesel plants across the province.
