Dexter Resurrection Episode 3 Recap And Ending Explained, The premiere wasn't a fluke. Episode 3 of Dexter: Resurrection, aptly titled “Backseat Driver”, feels like a return to the franchise of old with a tight focus on Dexter himself as he works to claim another victim. Sure, Harrison's still in it, and there's a much larger subplot percolating in the background, but the simple pleasures of this third episode are to be found in Michael C. Hall getting back in touch with his darker side. His darker…passenger side! Goodness to me, I'm sorry.

00:00After a few years away, Dexter Morgan has returned, whether you wanted him to or not.
00:06Michael C. Hall's character is beloved by people, regardless of how ridiculous the premise may be.
00:12However, I was pleasantly surprised by how good Dexter, Resurrection is.
00:17Dexter, New Blood concludes with Harrison shooting Dexter and shifting the blame to another party.
00:23Dexter is now at liberty. Everything is falling apart.
00:28Feeling responsible for his father's death, Harrison escaped to New York City and took a job at a high-end hotel.
00:35He kills a wanted criminal in the pilot episode, robbing him of his opportunity for freedom.
00:40After learning of the murder, Dexter keeps an eye on Harrison from a distance to ensure the safety of his child.
00:47Simultaneously, he searches for the serial killer known as the Dark Passenger, who has integrated himself into New York lifestyle.
00:54After discovering the Dark Passenger at the end of episode 2, Dexter experiences a new set of emotions due to a twist.
01:03Despite his selfless actions in rescuing lives, he can't shake the remorse he feels for his child.
01:09The third episode of Dexter, Resurrection, Backseat Driver, deals with the question of whether or not his newfound emotions may lead him into troubles.
01:17Preparations are on for Dexter to begin his new employment as a rideshare driver at the beginning of the episode.
01:25No, he isn't very concerned about other people at the moment.
01:29Everything fits together in the pursuit of the Dark Passenger, the killer of these drivers.
01:34However, he must exercise caution.
01:36The reason Dex has such a low rating is because passengers dislike him.
01:42According to Blessing, he will have his service disconnected if his account balance drops below a certain threshold.
01:48A veterinary pharmacy calls Dexter at his residence.
01:52He then verifies an order for medications to incapacitate any potential victims while posing as Dr. Patrick Bateman, a fitting allusion to American Psycho.
02:00At Harrison's workplace, the Hotel Empire, Detective Wallace interrogates him about Ryan Foster's murder.
02:08He claims to be oblivious and was only assisting Ryan with his errands, despite the fact that he witnessed Harrison's murder.
02:15In the security film shown by Wallace, Harrison is seen assisting Ryan in returning Shauna to his room.
02:22The detective thinks this was Ryan's last known whereabouts,
02:25but Harrison claims he helped the pair to their room before going to a bar to pick up a woman he didn't know and brought her home.
02:32Harrison is instructed by Wallace to obtain her identity as she serves as his alibi.
02:37She responds to Harrison's question about if he is a suspect by saying,
02:41you're not not a suspect.
02:43Blessing and his family join Dexter for dinner.
02:46Dexter is questioned by his wife, who has checked the tenant's background, about his departure from Miami.
02:52If Harrison had a father who loved him as much as Blessing loves his daughter, Dexter wonders how Harrison turned out.
03:00However, Dexter is too busy to do so, so he utilizes Prudence's background check website to discover more about the dark passenger,
03:07whose real name is Ronald Red E. Schmidt, and his residence.
03:12As Ronald departs to retrieve his prizes, Dexter enters his flat and begins to search.
03:17From the looks of things, this is the very same flat where Charlie extended an invitation in the pilot.
03:24Among the ceiling tiles, Dex effortlessly locates the book of driver's licenses.
03:29With the evidence in hand, he goes on to plot his murder.
03:33Pretending to need assistance with IT, Dexter phones his employer.
03:37This is how he finds out Red's whereabouts the following day.
03:41There will be a ride-sharing driver named Dexter.
03:43Angel Batista receives a call informing him that the truck that Dexter had stolen has been found in New York City when he is just returned in Miami.
03:53There will always be someone else on the hunt.
03:56Shauna did, in fact, have Rohypnol, a date-rape medicine, in her system, according to the results of the tape kit.
04:04Either her assailant numbs her and changes his mind, or someone stops him and kills him, according to Wallace.
04:09After further investigation, she discovers that Ryan's body was found in his room.
04:15Nevertheless, the bathroom cannot have been the scene of his murder because it is too clean.
04:20Surely someone else was responsible for it.
04:23The Bee Gees' Staying Alive plays on Wallace's headphones whenever she's onto something.
04:28As she searches for the room where Ryan was murdered, she now walks through the hotel, listening to the song.
04:34In little time at all, she is in the kitchen, her eyes fixed on a stainless steel table.
04:40From his frightened expression when he sees her round a corner, Harrison can tell that she's good at this.
04:46After hearing from Blessing's daughter how much she loves her dad, Dexter decides to give Harrison another pursuit.
04:53This time, he watches him from a cafe window.
04:57Dexter goes ahead and tells Harry that a boy needs his father, however, Dexter later learns that Harrison is out with a date.
05:04He does concede that Harrison does need someone, but he insists that I am not that someone.
05:10The date is his friend and co-worker Elsa.
05:13Harrison requires companionship due of his anxiety.
05:16On the way back to Elsa's residence, she expresses her immense pride in her child.
05:22The fact that she permits Harrison to remain on the couch makes him happy.
05:26In a sense, he does have a partner.
05:28Wallace and Oliva, the detectives, return to Harrison in order to get the identity of the lady he had an affair with.
05:35I completely forgot about it, he says.
05:39That was a poor defense.
05:41Despite Harrison's presence and activity, the hotel cameras fail to capture Ryan's disappearance, as revealed by Wallace.
05:49Wallace immediately grasps the situation and begins to paint a vivid picture.
05:53The case can be reduced from first-degree murder to justifiable homicide if Harrison cooperates with Oliva and her in order to prevent someone from being raped.
06:03Whatever does he decide?
06:05Harrison seems terrified, and he does confess to something, but he denies murder.
06:11He freely confesses that, being a night owl, nobody ever caught a glimpse of him slipping out of the hotel.
06:17Elsa can see his point of view on that.
06:19On this occasion, it serves as a valid excuse.
06:24Batista gathers with Quinn, one of Dexter's early followers, and Masuka in Miami, while Dexter gets his meds ready and begins his night shift.
06:32He informs his friends that he is retiring so he may travel and settle some personal shit because he cannot abandon it.
06:39Without saying it, he assures them that they would understand in due time.
06:43Dexter won't be able to stop the dark passenger from escaping New York even if an old friend calls him again.
06:50As Ronald Schmitt gets into Dexter's car, our anti-hero loses his syringe and tries to place it between the seats.
06:58Since the murderer orders Dexter to drive while bound, that's a major hassle.
07:02Despite his fear, Dex apologizes for forcing his son to be just like him when asked whether he will miss his child.
07:08He insists that he is powerless over an inner force.
07:13Ronald Schmitt is rendered unconscious when Dexter inserts the syringe into his neck.
07:18On his kill table, he places the dark passenger upon returning to his apartment.
07:24The killer asked Dexter if he could leave the invitation with his trophies, but Dexter doesn't get it.
07:30His interest in Ronald is piqued.
07:31Actually, his dad was a cab driver who took his own life since rideshares made his career obsolete.
07:38As soon as Dexter finishes explaining, he puts the blade down.
07:43Ronald leaves an invitation to a dinner party where talented individuals can discuss their work in his bag, which Dexter discovers.
07:50The sum in the thousands.
07:52Ronald is directed by the invitation.
07:55Is there really a dinner party for serial killers?
07:59Dextro is astounded.
08:00Charlie was seen getting ready for it, so it must be true.
08:05Though he may encounter others on his path, Dexter insists on going it alone.
08:30We've got no matter what he's near what he looks at.
08:35He looks at his poi.
08:36He gets to go out for a optimizingzy to sleep.
08:40Oh my God.
